“Wow what a Wedding”
Reviewed August 14, 2011

I had the opportunity to be at Paradise Resort for a wonderful wedding for friends. Because I was not staying the night at the resort but was an outsider coming to the wedding, I still was treated to a warm organized reception by all the staff. I had a wonderful lunch and settled in with a wave of wonderful finger food and plenty of champaign before the ceremony and after. Because of the size of the guest list at this wedding the staff had to be at their best as all were. It was a wonderful sit down 5 course dinner. What drew my attention the most from this wonderful day and evening was the way the staff all worked together as if it were their family they were serving and looking after. My hats off to all of you and thank you for a memorable day.

Room Tip: stay at the resort and relax

Would happily recommend to all Kiwi and Aussie families who would like to see the real Fiji, this is the place to do it from. Our 8 year old and 10 year old had so many adventures - snorkling on the reef, visiting the kids in the village, kayaking, swimming in waterfalls, basket making and learning Fijian. Yes, their parents were rather busy too! This is a place where you can relax and do nothing or have a great family adventure you will all remember for a life time. Go Fiji!!

We had our wedding and part of our honeymoon here. We had a fanatastic time from the moment of our arrival. The grounds were maintained beautifully and the service was second to none. Every effort was made to ensure we had a fantastic time. The food was delicious and served with this freshly made bread you could not stop eating!

If you want a holiday that you can just relax in a gorgeous location and be looked after by absolutely lovely people that greet you by name with a smile every day - then this is it. You may go to places with more modern and luxurious rooms but the traditional bures lended to the atmosphere were still really comfortable and had a private jacuzzi attached.

For the overall holiday experience in Fiji this was by far our favourite.
We were able to eat, snorkel, go kayaking, visit a village, have a lovo feast, have a cooking class etc. Oh most nights you had fijian seranaders accompanying your meals- talk about atmosphere!

We will definately be back

This place truly was paradise. First, we got to have an amazing scenic flight on the way here, and the friendly staff and beautiful manicured lawns greeted us at the resort. The welcome foot rub was fantastic after the travel, and the welcome fruit platter and champagne really set us into holiday mode fast. We were concerned about missing a beach here, but trust me, you don't miss it at all! This place is simply breathtaking all on its own, with plenty of chairs and hammocks to enjoy the view. We had an ocean view room, and the outdoor shower was an awesome feature. Imagine showering surrounded by volcanic rock and native flowers and plants - this was very well done. The food was excellent (make sure to have the curry of the day!) and try "Fijian" popcorn (deep-fried coconut). Fiji night was very fun, with the folks from the village coming by to sing and dance for us - the kids were particularly cute. We also got our own "sulu" (colourful cloth) to wear on Fiji night, and our immersion in Fijian culture and history at this resort was unique - here we learned how to make a basket out of leaves, husk a coconut, how they do the lovo feast, and could have had lessons on Fijian language and more. To top this all off, the nearby rainbow reef is one of the world's best for diving, so you can imagine snorkeling trips and even just around the resort were fantastically full of amazing fish and coral. A few of the staff played live music every night at dinner, and their mix of Fijian and popular music was awesome. There aren't many bures in this resort either, so all the guests got to recognize each other (there were maybe 12 people max during our stay).
And probably the number one feature of this resort that can't be parallelled by others? The staff. They were so incredibly friendly and helpful and you seriously feel like old friends. They were all so cheerful (even when it was raining for a few days straight), and truly wanted you to have the best time possible. We highly recommend Paradise Taveuni and would love to go back!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and we were so impressed by the warm welcome and beauty of the place, manicured gardens and very clean facilities. The staff were the highlight- friendly, caring and able to make every request happen. The resort only holds about 22 people so it was very quiet and romantic (there were a few families when we were there but the place is so large it didn't matter). The food was fantastic and the reef right on the waters edge(literally) was a snorkellers delight.
I highly recommend this resort as you are the only resort at this end of the island and you get a true insight into the culture and history of Fiji (they don't put on a show for the tourist, what you see it the true Fiji!). Loved it will go back in a heart beat!

This was a wonderful trip, from the accomodations to the staff to the diving. The resort was very nice- private bures with outside showers (indoor too if you prefer), separate sleeping and sitting areas. We had an ocean from bure so woke up to a glorious view everyday. When we arrived we received a foot massage. We also were given complementary 30 minute massages.
The food was always nicely presented and very good. We ate a lot of bread, papaya and coconut on this trip but we enjoyed it and all the other food. We had options to dine in the main room, the "wedding bure", a private table on the fish feeding point, etc. The staff made sure that every dinner was special. We had the 3-meal per day package. This worked out very well since we never left the resort except for one tour and on that day the resort packed a lunch for us. At breakfast everyday, you were to choose what you wanted to eat for lunch and at lunch you choose what you wanted to eat for dinner.
The owners and staff took a genuine interest in how our stay was going and were anxious to teach us about their country and customs. Fiji Night gave us a glimpse of village traditions and local customs. We really enjoyed meeting the children and families of the resort staff.
The diving was very different from a lot of what we have seen in the past - since most of our diving has been in the Caribbean. There was so much variety of coral and fish life. We have never see so many juvenile fish, so that was a treat! We saw a Manta Ray on our first dive, but after that, not a lot of large animals besides shark. The surface intervals at the beach on Vanua Lavu were the best we have ever had. It was so delightful with the scenery, homemade cookies, papaya and coconut.
The dive shop and staff were always on time, helpful and friendly. No complaints from us. We were able to hang our wetsuits to dry each night and left our BCs and regulators on the boats to be rinsed off and switched over to fresh tanks every dive.
The only downside of the trip were minimal- bumby(unpaved) roads to/from the airport and other sites, roosters waking us every morning as the sun came up and our preference for more well-lit bures and grounds (however, if there were more lights on the grounds we could not have admired the amazing stars in the Fijian sky!)
We would definitely return to Fiji. The long travel from Chicago was worth it. It was difficult to leave, not only because we would miss the beautiful resort, weather and diving, but also the people. Taveuni is really a special place.

My husband and I vacationed at this resort for a week in May. Our oceanfront room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The views from our room were absolutely beautiful! Owners Terri and Allan pay great attention to detail and it shows in all the little things they do to make your stay memorable.
As far as the staff, they were terrific! We can't wait to go back!
