We arrived back from the holiday village red sea two days ago I would not recommend this hotel to anyone thinking for going as we stayed for 14 days and was ill for 12 and upon returning are still ill the food was awful never got any hot food it was always warm the entertainment was very repetitive and the team just sang nearly every night. The kids club was excellent but most people were ill with bugs for most of our stay.

We will not be returning to egypt, this was our first visit.

Very disappointed.

Returned 21 Aug 2008
Hotel sign reads "beyond your expectations", this really should read "beyond your LOW expectations".
I will start with a few positives, these being the kids clubs and in particular the swim club, otherwise this hotel is sensationally poor in every essence.
We have been on numerous all inclusive holiday's all over the world, which prior to this one have all been amazing. This experience is a good benchmark of what one may would normally expect in the way of quality and expectations.

This hotel fails in every aspect and is sensationally awful to say the least.

1) Food - Absolutely rank unless of course you like uncooked limp chips with everything. " its also absolute bedlem". Ala Carte's were ok but nothing special. The pancake with the crispy duck was a shrove Tuesday type pancake, so a bit more work required there.
2) Hotel build quality - The finish is dreadful, paint drips on everything, missing pieces of architraves, etc etc. This hotel looks and feels 10 years old not 1.
3)Layout - Your forever trecking up and down from the room to the pool, to the buffett to the kids club. We have 3 young kids and this layout is a killer for their little legs.
4) Entertainment - Need I say more when they start going Oggy Oggy Ogggy, Oy Oy Oy. The amplitheatre whilst probably seems a good idea at the time in practicallity terms, it simply doesn't work. Their' s no Adult entertainment to speak off, the View Bar (Adult only) starts at 11.15 and being mindful you have to collect the kids at 10.30, so not much point there then.
5) Fellow Guests - Whilst not the Hotel's fault, it was circa 80% Chav central who are quite happy loudly swearing all over the place in front of children. We even witnessed fights "which was nice".
6) Pool - Absolutely filthy, Pair of swimming googles quickly reveals the shear amount of debris and muck floating around, which I'd dread to think was, though have a good idea. " No wonder everyone we was ill"

In summary, avoid this place like the plague this holiday was a bitterly dissappointing experience Never to be repeated. "learn by other people's mistake"

I'm sure that people will write additional comments stating ignore this, the hotel is brilliant, we had a great time "bla bla bla", With this in mind it's probably worth noting that 1) they probably have no different experience to compare it against 2) There the Chavy type of person alluded to in the first instance.

After going to the Holiday Village in Turkey for two years we decided to try the Red Sea Holiday Village. After reading the reviews I was more than a little worried but I had such a great time I thought I would take the time to write this.
The Holiday Villages are aimed at families and not really suitable for couples. My four year old and nine year old both loved this place. The kids clubs kept them going all day (and night) they loved the staff who seemed to pop up all over the village. If they didnt want to do the activity on offer at the kids club there was always an alternative with the in2action team. Whilst on holiday my son tried:- water walking, archerey, snorkelling, zip line, sea scooters and aqua gliders. If you have active kids they are in for a treat!
The rooms were huge and kept really clean, the air conditioning works really well (a bonus in August) and there are a number of channels on the tv.
The food in the buffet restaurant was good and you also get a voucher so that you can use each of the asian, chinese and med restaurants once each week. The seafood restaurant on the beach is great, you only pay for the fish/lobster you chose, this was cheap compared to the UK and the setting on the beach looking out to sea was fantastic.
The only problem we encountered was the dreaded stomach bug, both myself and my son got it, we went to the pharmacy and got Antinil as soon as the symptoms started and we were out of action for one day only.
This was a great fortnight and I hope to return to the Holiday Village soon.

Arrived 4th August for 2 weeks. Was apprehensive having read some of the reviews and wondered if we'd made a big mistake booking somewhere so new but thankfully we had a fantastic time. On arrival we were asked if we wanted to upgrade to a jaccuzzi suite (considerably cheaper than doing it through F.C.) and it was well-worth it. A cooling drink sipped in the jaccuzzi whilst waiting for my daughter to finally come out of the shower started off the evening in a good mood and the uninterruppted veiw of the beach and sea was breathtaking. The resort staff and reps were very helpful and friendly. How anyone could complain about the vast selection of food available is beyond me and as for the free bottled water -well I have being going abroad for over 30 years and this has never been offered before - even on cruises! As for it beiing warm - we took 8 bottles on the first day, put 4 in the mini bar fridge so we had 4 nice and cold for the next day. The entertainment was of a very high quality - my only slight complaint was having to sit on the plastic cushions which meant you tended to get a bit sweaty!! Obviously this is a complex aimed at FAMILIES (not really for couples) so the entertainment starts early for the children but we felt there were enough 'adult' jokes to keep parents awake! The shows were very well done and Natasha's 'Anne Robinson' was spot on. The daytime activities were available but not so 'in your' face' that it was too noisy round the pool to read and relax if that was what you wanted to do. The main pool, even in mid August, was never overcrowded altough there was the usual early morning rush to put towels on sun beds - however the staff stuck to the rule that if you weren't there by 10.15, your towels were removed, allowing late commers a chance. The beach was a 5 minute walk (free sunbeds available) and once in the clear, warm water there were lots of fish to be seen even by non-swimmers as the water only came up to waist-height in most places. Samir, our cleaner, did a brilliant job, replacing our towels every day and keeping the room spotless and tidy. They even kept the resturant open late on our arrival night so that we could have a meal while we waited for our cases to be delivered to our rooms and this leads me to the only area which I felt needed improvement - the delivery and collection of cases - 1 case was mislaid when we arrived, although it turned up eventually 3 hours later and on our departure the cases didn't get picked up at all resulting in the coach to the airport being delayed. This was just a tiny blip and we are definitely planning to come back in the near future.

My partner and i and my 11 year old son have just returned from the holiday village Shalm El Shiek - what a lovely place.

THe hotel staff are the friendliest i have experienced - when you arrive at the hotel the take your cases - you then check in and they take you up to your room. Your cases are then delivered for you. The rooms are large we have plenty room for the 3 of us.

THe hotel itself is very clean the cleaners work morning and night - our room was cleaned everyday.

THe food was lovely - there was plenty of choice - the restaurants you can go to twice during your stay are lovely - The buffet resturant was lovely there was fresh items cooked in front of you as well as the others which there was always a lot of choice. There was also fresh bread and rolls which were amazing.

The pools ect were kept very clean and there was enough sun beds to go around although you have to get up early to get one as a lot of people tip the pool guys so they have a bed same spot every day.

The kids clubs were excellent - my 11 year old have a great time he done loads of things that he would not do at home and the staff are great they work long hours and are brill with the kids - My son is still going on about what a good time he had with Sam (Jaffa) Curtis and Laura - and not forgetting the DJ - my son is now after a set of decks for his christmas.

Entertainement - this is excellent Allie Tasha Gavin and Jason do a wonderful job they work very hard keeping everyone entertained - they start with the young kids doing all the crazy dances which young kids love then onto the adults which is all great family entertainement

There is an adult bar which you can escape to while your kids are in the club which is lovely to get away and you can catch Scott Jackson up there which he is a great singer and can do most any request

The Beaches are lovely - you can walk out in the sea for about a mile and its only waist high - the sand is a bit rough but you are in the dessert - these are also kept so clean

This is a perfect family holiday there is something to do for everyone. We will defiinately be looking at a holiday village for our future holiday
