Our stay at the HV was better than expected. The only poor point was the food. They do not cater for children eating in the complex. Pizza & chips for lunch & tea. Pizza, chips, rice & spag bol every day. The food was very repetitive and not much british options. The chinese and med restaurant were not up to much. We ordered aromatic crispy duck and it came with the pancakes, the pancakes were the same ones as you would have for breakfast.

The staff at the complex would do anything for you. Just make sure you give them a good tip at the start of your holiday.

We left our hand luggage in the left luggage area which was locked, but when we were on the plane our PSP had been taken from the bag and it was too late to do anything about it. So BEWARE.

The entertainment team were the best acts to see, Gareth Oliver was really good too, but the dancers and comedian were really rubbish.

The kids club was excellent and the In2Action team were great. The kids really liked Curtis & Paul.

The firstchoice reps were really helpful, but if booking trips book outside the hotel as it is cheaper for the same thing.

All in all we really enjoyed our time at the HV. I would not return here in the near future but I would in say 3/4 years time as the area is still being built up and we like to go out and about in the evening.

5 star hotel, not a mission, have just returned from this "hotel",bit of a disaster, rooms spacious but do not touch anything as they are falling to bits.Stomach bugs, the trots and ear infections sweeping thro this place like the plague. The worst all inclusive i've ever stayed in,only bottled water in the morning, main lobby bar closing at 12 at night and not opening til 10 in the morning, however the staff are good, friendly and hardworking, have been to egypt before and had a fantastic time not so this time, all in all this place struggles to be a 2 star and is a bit of a disaster. could go on and on and on,but now trying to forget it and move on..

well after paniking for well over a year we finally arrived at the holiday village! wow what a hotel! when we were on the bus going to the hotel the rep gave us paper work to fill in and this enabled our check in to be the quickest check in ive ever had! the guys on reception were great welcomed us to egypt and asked where we came from gave us our keys told us what blocks we were in and showed us a member of staff that would take us to our rooms ( there were six of us ) what about our luggage i asked dont worry it will be taken to your rooms for you he said oh god i thought prob see them in 3 hours! but after a stroll through the grounds and a quick look around we got to our rooms and our luggage followed us! when our room door was opened i just stood and went wow! we had jacuzzi select rooms block 2 we were in and they were massive! immaculatley clean ! the bed was huge the bathroom had a wet room with a rain shower and a normal shower! seperate toilet area. massive walk in wardrobe with a light and full length mirror and you safe is in here as well. we tipped the boy and he looked as pleased as punch we gave him an english pound! our jacuzzi was in the balcony and this was fab! we were on the lower floor and people had reported that it wasnt very private but it didnt bother us at all in fact it was a great way of talking to people!thefood was great the buffet resturant was always spotless and always plenty of hot food never had a problem with getting tables staff couldnt do enough for you the alacarte resturants were great but you have to book them well in advance! staff great but the guy who made our holiday was rammy! you can find him in the pool bar during the dar and the view bar at night! what a guy so funny and great at his job hes a very big accet to the HV!. the pools are great and very clean although i do think they could do with some more sunbeds!now the topic of dodgy tummies- nothing to do with the food or the cleanliness of the hotel it s simple its the heat! us brits are not used to the heat of egypt and we are very ignorant to think that if we have a couple of pepsis or beers round the pool we will be ok.- how wrong we are 5 of us had dodgy bellies a trip to the chemist soon sorted that out! but i must say that i dont know how many times when i was in the loo the amount of people who didnt wash there hands was amazing adults i might add but the thing that i couldnt get over was - an adult lifting her daughter up to the sink and letting her piddle in it! the look on my and my sons fiancees face must have said it all! she said she wouldnt use the tiolet so she had to use the sink great i thought id just splashed my face in it before she came in and she didnt even rinse the sink or her hands! so please dont blame the hotel for upset tummies blame the heat drink plenty of water as well as juice! would i go back you bet but im afraid its jumped £800 for next year and if FC are not carefull rgarding these increses they are going to have a hotel full of russians and no brits! by the way the entertainment at night is great they work so hard and put on great shows scotty jackson is great in the view bar but he should be on longer! all the FC team were really nice and helpfull but i must take my hat off to the egyptian staff they made my holiday!

we arrived home on the 25th July , our party consisted of 5 adults , 2 teenagers and 2 children . had no problem with check in , the rooms were lovely very spacious . we were in block 9 and our view was overlooking the swim up pools with the quiet pool behind us , we ate at all the restaurant's no complaints there. the main buffet restaurant was brilliant lots of variety and friendly staff the kids loved eating in there. around the pool was great. lots of activities for all ages and adults . the only problem was getting sunbeds , even as early as 8 o'clock we struggled to get beds . the drinks at the bar were a little bit warm but we all had ice and were all fine regardless of what we read in the reviews before we left . the swim club was brilliant my 5 yr old son learnt to swim and my 9 yr old daughter loved the rookie lifeguard course . the night time entertainment was excellent something for everyone and we never stopped laughing all night every night . the entertainment team were great and worked very hard . all in all a amazing holiday .

TOTALLY AWFUL!! What can we say, if i could give Holiday Village Red Sea 0 out of 10 i would, this holiday was our honeymoon we booked back in October 07,
We stressed our requirements for our once in a lifetime holiday and were sold the holiday by First Choice in Poole, to say this is a honeymoon destination and suitable for adults is completely ridiculous, it is a Butlins in the sun, fine if you have young children but awful if you want some piece and quiet and a chill. The whole experience was just awfull, and what makes it worse is the manager in First Choice had actually been there herself. we checked into the airport 2 1/2 hours before our flight only to be told that we would not be sitting together, once arriving at the complex in Sharm at 10pm (there time) we could not get to sleep due to the most horrendous loud, dance rave music coming from the beach, we were in the Jacuzzi room block 2 right by the beach and so sadly right next to the rave, we coplained 3 times to the night manager and he said that nothing could be done due to it coming from the neighbouring hotel the rave was caused by the 'Pataya beach bar', this music we presumed would stop at 12pm pm, but NO it goes on until 4am EVERY SINGLE NIGHT!!not good enough, we haven't flown 5 hours for this! we mooved rooms to a 'swim up room' in block 12 as this we were told was our only option as it was the furthest block from the beach.
This room was infested with ants and the mini bar fridge did not work as was blowing out hot air, our new neighbours arrived that evening at 11pm in the next 3 rooms to us, they were loud, swearing, & throwing themselfes into the pool and meant that i had to get out of bed and ask them to shut up. First Choice state in there brochure that NO under 12's allowed in swim up rooms but there were 3 kids in our block. The next morning the building work outside our room commenced at 7.30am! Every morning without fail it started at 7.30am waking us up, I recorded this on my video camera as evidence as it even happened on the Sunday. The all inclusive system they are running is a total and utter con, you can only get bottles of water in the morning at breakfast and it was rationed, water dispensers by the poole bars are available but these were not even plugged in and were heated by the days 40 degree heat, you have 1 trip per week to one of the 3 A-La carte restaurants, our advice is dont bother, the food was bland, luke warm and poor quality, we did not visit them for the second week, most of the menu had a supplement to pay e.g-the steak was £16, this is all inclusive!! The main buffet restaurant was like a school canteen, busy, tables not cleared and the food was always the same, there was no variation and the food was barely hot. I have been on several A.I holidays and never have i not been able to get a cold bottle of water whether it be 7am or 11pm! The locally produced alcoholic drinks and soft drinks served from all the bars were disgusting, coke and lemonade were flat and stored in large cool boxes that like the water was not chilled, all drinks served were served at room temperature which most days was between 35-40 degrees, as you can imagine this is not desirable, you expect a cold drink when going to the bar. The final nail in the coffin was when the dioreah and sickness kicked in on day 3, at first we thought this was normal due to it being common in Egypt to experience some issues there, but we did not expect after 48 hrs and after taking tablets from the local pharmacy to still be experiencing severe dioreah and sickness and terrible tummy cramps, we were unable to leave our room to go to Cairo which we had planned as we could not be further than 15 metres from a toilet,we had to make mad dashes to and from the main restaurant to our room due to the lack of toilet facilities. We first experienced problems with stomache cramps after visiting the A LA Carte restaurant 'Sari'. The food, if you can call it that, was simply inedible and how they can serve that up is beyond us, the following day we were both very ill, the barely warm chicken is what we think may have caused this. When informing the restaurant the next day that we thought we had suspected food poisoning bearing in mind this was 5 days on now which is quite rational, we were faced with the British Chef, he was very egressive and explained there was nothing wrong with the food they were serving up in the complex, interestingly he informed us that because of the demand for clean glasses, the dishwasher is not able to complete its full 45 minute cycle in which clean, safe bottled water is flushed over the glasses, instead the machines are being opened prior to completion and ran under the tap un-unsafe un-sterile water. After lengthly discussions with the reps at the resort on the 25th June we decided we could not take any more and terminated our holiday 5 days early, the only flight home off this hell hole was to Manchester and our car was at Gatwick, this would mean a 6 hour coach journey at our expense, this proves how desperate we were to get away from this place.
First choice have not responded 25 days into there 28 day policy for complaints, not even a letter of acknowledgement, they are a total disgrace as a tour operator, they have our money and they are not interested in the fact that out honeymoon has been ruined. DO US A FAVOUR AND DO NOT GO!!

Just returned from the Holiday village, we read other reviews before we went and decided that we would make our own mind up when we got there. This was a mistake. At this point we would like to add that we have been to all inclusive for the last seven years all over the world, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Dominican Republic amongst others, so we have a good knowledge of what to expect from all inclusives, and would like to add we have never had cause for complaint, until now. we now wish we had listened to the other reviews on this holiday. lets start with the flight. very cramped as the flight is not classed as long haul. check in at the hotel was a bit all over the place. some children under 18yrs were given adult wrist bands because mum and dad told them they were 18yrs, staff didn't check, this led to youths getting drunk and causing problems throughout the complex. we had a swim up room, which i would highly recomend as the heat is overpowering, and the pool at the swim up room is a god send. the standard of the rooms is not the best but this is to be expected in a country like Egypt. the rooms are more than ample in size. The main food hall, i call it this as you can not call it a restaraunt it is a night mare. we often had to get a waiter to clear a dirty table and reset it before we could eat. the food quality is very poor and they seem to be on a three day repeat cycle on the menu, talk about same, same, we actually ate out more than in, you can only get bottled water from the food hall in a morning at breakfast, so if you miss breakfast you miss on your water supply for the day, they tell you that you can fill up at the water stations, usually empty or warm. Drinks are terrible, warm beer, warm soft drinks at most of the bars, as the machines or beer pumps usually break down so everything is out of bottles, you are advised not to have the ice, so enjoy warm drinks. local spirits are nasty, service in bars and restaraunts very poor, not enough staff, usually one behind the bar. one piece of advice , tip the guy behind the bar and you wont have to wait to get served, he will bring the drinks to you. it is similar to being on a cruise, tip, tip, tip, tip, only way to do it. if you don't then do not expect to get anything done for you. we all got the egyption tummy and made several visits to the pharmacy, very expensive. spoke to the reps about it as we do not belive it is from the food, but all they said is they have only had five complaints since January, this is rubbish as nearly every person we spoke to had the trots. we spoke to the reps about people using the pool at the swim up rooms that did not have a swim up room, they said they would deal with it, but they didn't, be warned if you book a swim up room they are not private as some families book one swim up room and then brimg all their family and friends into the private pool area as it is quiet, until they all get in there. the reps are very helpful if you don't have a problem, if you do then you can forget any help from the reps, they suddenly become very busy and it is the hotels fault not thiers. Egypt is a facinating place and the people are great, the temp is constant and hot, we would definatly go back to egypt but definatly not to the holiday village, this is the worst all inclusive we have ever stayed at, far too much has an extra charge, this is in no way a 5 star hotel i would say 3 star at a push, and is very poor value for money. first Choice need to wake up and listen to people with genuine comlaints and do something about it or they will very soon find this hotel closed. we got better service by speaking to the egyption staff about our concerns rather than first choice reps. Please do not ignore the reviews like we did. it is a lot of money for people to waste on a holiday.
