Me my Wife, My 4 year old Daughter and 1 year old Twin boys stayed at the Coral Sea Holiday Village from the 2nd May to the 13th of May 2013, I have to say it exceeded our expectations, We arrived at the hotel around 10:30pm and we was dealt with straight away and was told to leave our cases and go and have something to eat as the restaurant was remaining open for us so we could get our fill. there was not loads of food to choose from but there was enough to get us by till morning, After we ate we was shown to our room which was in block 12, Pretty far away from everything just above a swim up room very quiet but we did have to climb two lots of stairs and with two little boys and their buggies to lug up them its a bit of a chore the room was fine though and with lovely views, the next day after breakfast I went to reception to request a ground floor room and we was moved to ground floor the next day so we was very happy with our new room block 10 right by the quiet pool, Just walk out the balcony and your there, if we went out our front door we was right by reception and the main buffet restaurant, it really is an Ideal location. The food is decent, not the best but there is a lot of selection and different every day, My wife really enjoyed the puddings and she never likes the puddings whenever we go away so that's saying something, The a la carte restaurants are ok as well the Indian was our favourite, The Chinese was a little bland, The drinks are a bit disappointing though, The Beer is nice but the spirits are terrible, they do have Pepsi, 7up and Fanta though if you like your soft drinks, The Juice is a little strong so my tip is to dilute it with some water, The cocktails are not the best a bit like syrup and very sweet. The staff are excellent very friendly and will do anything for you and you never feel pressured to leave a tip. The hotel and grounds are very clean theirs always somebody cleaning the place and tending to the gardens, there is a few cockroaches about but nothing major, the gardens are beautiful and the smell of the flowers is lovely while relaxing, the kids club is great and the Reps are brilliant with the kids, we also used the crèche and was really impressed as our Lads are a right handful and they handled them fine and they really do make your kids feel special and happy. The night time entertainment is great for kids but not so much for the adults, there is an adult bar but its empty and no atmosphere. the sports bar is ok but its not really a sports bar and it is freezing in there. the beach is ok its not sand though more like gravel, The sea is lovely and warm but I didn't see many fish. we took a trip into Soho Square one night, We booked the hotel taxi to take us as it was only £10 return and First Choice offer it as an excursion but it costs a bomb and it would be a waste of money because theirs really not that much to do there and we was done in an hour and half, We walked out the complex one day and its just people walking up to you trying to get you in their shops and not very relaxing, you don't really need to leave the complex though as theirs loads to do and the shops are not that much dearer than outside and you can still haggle. Over all it was a great holiday and would recommend it to anyone, anyone who moans about the hotel needs there head looking at because it really does accommodate for all. We are so impressed with the Holiday Village that we are making it our mission to go to them all, So we Cant wait till next year when we try out there next resort.

Room Tip: Block 10 is in a great location and gets the Sun on the balcony from around 1:30 till 6pm

I have been to egypt twice both staying in coral sea and I have to admit this is a first class hotel. The resort is very clean and a large well spread out resort. The grounds are very clean and gardens are stunning. The staff are very friendly and beach is fantastic. I had a swim up room and the room was huge the pool was cold but I mainly sunbathed beside the pool due to this. The food is fine could be better very basic choice in main buffet a la carte restaurants are wonderful tho and the choice of bars is superb. Egypt isn't big on entertainment but I have to admit for egypt the entertainment was great the first choice reps cut the jokes a little fine considering it was a kids hotel sometimes were more aimed at an adult comedy show if you know what I mean but was all done in good humour. Overall a wonderful hotel which I'd definatley return too!!

This is a large resort in Nabq Bay. 10 to 15 min drive north of the airport, so nice short transfer, but you do get a lot of plane noise whilst sunbathing as you're on the flight path. There's not a lot in Nabq because you're miles away from the hustle and bustle (and hassle) in Naama Bay. It seems to be an up and coming place with a couple of restaurants and a couple of bars. There's a TGI Friday and an awesome Hard Rock Cafe a couple of minute walk away. Nevertheless, this is an all inclusive resort, so that's just an added extra. This place is fantastic for kids, loads to do, with slides and kids clubs and entertainment. That's why I was nervous about going, I don't have kids. Thankfully I had a swim up room, which is essentially just a room which has a little pool that comes right up to the rear terrace. The pool is for sole use of the swim up rooms, and you get sunbeds right outside your room for your use only. This is the only way I would go back. The main pool was far too busy and noisy for us. There is a quiet pool too but this was also too busy for me! At the swim up room a bar man comes round every now and again to take orders but only about twice a day!! So don't rely on butler service, I think this guy serves all the swim up rooms, and there's lots of them!
Our room was nice, large, massive double bed, hard, but comfy enough. Large bathroom with huge wet room style shower. Shower needed a bit of a scrub and a re grout but not a lot to complain about here, I was really happy with the room. Mini bar at a cost. They give you 4 litres of bottle water a day in your room, and there is a decent mini safe which was handy.
The main restaurant is okay. There is a huge choice and I defy anybody to not find something that they like. There's a manned egg/omelette station for breakfast, and there are some amazing breads and sweet buns.
The bars sell local Stella from bottles and use bottled Pepsi and Sprite which I thought was really good.
There's a lobby bar, a sports bar, and an adult only View bar which has entertainment in the evenings so you can escape the kids entertainment. We did a couple of fun quizzes and there was regularly singers and alike.
On arrival reception give you three free passes to use at the al a carte restaurants. Bamboo, the Chinese. Sari, the Indian. And the aptly named Mediterranean. Book in advance and its a nice way to mix up the week from the buffet. Mediterranean was by far the best, the actual restaurant was closed so we had to go to La Mer, which is the payable speciality fish restaurant on the beach. Setting was lovely, and fantastic service!
The bars charge you for drinks after midnight.
We used the on site dive centre. It's called Aquarius. Well priced and nice guys. They are a substation for the actual dive centre about 5 minute walk away. These guys are reputable, professional and well organised. My wife is a nervous diver so we always have a private guide and Sam was fantastic. Having spent a day on a boat with some of the others dive masters there i would have been happy with any of them, they were really good. Ras Mohamed and Tiran Island are great dive site very nearby. You don't need to pay for a visa at the airport to dive house reefs or Tiran Isl but you do for Ras Mohamed and further afield, so best get one at the airport if you need one!!!

Stayed here just after Easter for 2 weeks with my hubby and 2 kids (10 & 7 years). Hotel itself was ok. 3-4 stars is about right. We have holidayed in Egypt (Sharm, Hurghada/Makadi Bay & Taba Heights) 8 times in total, so are lucky(?) to have a few other experiences to compare it with.

Hotel was full to capacity, with 99% Brits it seemed. We chose this holiday based on there being lots of stuff for the kids to do - football academy, pools with water slides, zip wire, etc.

POSITIVE things first -
Food in the main restaurants was excellent, & we ate outside/under shade every mealtime in the main restaurant. Not too much smoking either.

Alternative evening dining venues that we tried were pretty good (although we only did the Thai & the Indian) – for the sake of variety rather than for authentic Thai or Indian food.

Beach was great for kids - safe, lots of digging in the sand and exploring the very shallow sea (tide goes out for about kilometre – so snorkelling a bit of a challenge when tide is out!).

Grounds are immaculate and well maintained.

Local staff excellent.

First Choice team v. enthusiastic!

Playpark for kids is best we have seen in Egypt: Large sand pit with quality wooden equipment.

Kids enjoyed water slides - but did not use them as much as we thought they would.

Some local entertainment (Belly/traditional dancers one night, whirling dervish the next, then some pretty cool streetdancing!) provided whilst queuing for dinner - was best entertainment all week!

NEGATIVE:
Inside eating areas felt like dining in a service station. Horrible.
Beach bar food was chips and burgers/fried food, not so great.

We had opted for a Junior Suite to have a fully separate area for kids - bad choice. Kids space is a (noisy to roll open/close) glass partition before the glazed doors leading to terrace?!
This meant we couldn't use the terrace once the kids were in bed, and they got the early morning sunshine straight into their space.
(NB – we did eventually get moved to a ‘Kids Den’ (after 3 days and much discussion with both the v. helpful Rep and v. sympathetic Hotel manager) and that worked really well as the kids had their own space with a door to close on them - phew!).

Bed was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept in. So hard and unforgiving. I had a bad back by day two even with 5 mattress toppers!!

Evening entertainment felt really outdated.
Kids disco - Naff.
Bingo - Really?

The activities around the main pool are constant and I hope never again to hear 'GOOD MORNING POOLSIDE!' announced over the PA system ever again.

Pool did not seem to be heated(?) - so it was really hard to get in the water!!

We decided that all in all it was a nice holiday based on the time we spent together as a family. And once we had relaxed into the holiday none of these issues seemed so bad.
Sorry if it makes me sound miserable, but I would not go back as I think there are much better hotels and much better deals to be had without paying for the extras which the kids didn’t even use (football academy/kids clubs)!!

Just returned from the holiday village thinking to myselft did I have a good holiday, well apart from the 400 kids in the hotel it was ok nothing special, we thought the children would have been back at school by now as we wanted a bit of piece and quiet how wrong we were, personally I have nothing against the children its the parents that have no control over them and they just let them do what they like. We had a room in block 7, it was a swim up room we had sun from 7am to 16.00pm it was beautiful but come 21.00pm it was hell let loose. There was a night club on the beach called pataya, the music was so loud it became unbearable especially on a tuesday night where it went on till 03.00am in the morning and the guests returning fron the club came pass our door laughting ,screaming shouting, so I think we actually got to sleep about 05.00am that wednesday morning.

The rooms needs some major upgrading, they are looking very tired and please dont use the rubber shower mats that they provide, it was absolutely filthy it made me cringe, our cleaner osama did his best to clean the room to a very high standard and he was so nice always smileing nothing to much trouble even after a 12 hr shift, I think the owners now need to invest some good money into getting these rooms up to a good standard.

The food was same old same, (nothing special) there is a drifferent theme night every night its called shorts, flipflops and vests even thought there was a notice up saying about the dress code it fell on deaf ears some guests made the effort.

Its the staff that make this hotel so welcoming, they work so hard for so little and the tips do go along way they deserve every penny, special thanks to Ahmed (Restaurant) Emad (Beach Bar) and Osmana you are great guys all the first choice staff very nice.

Room Tip: Go for block 13 its by the quiet pool and away fron the disco

We stayed at the HV as a couple in our early forties between 4th and 11th May.

Overall we thought the Hotel was of a high standard and found no faults.

We stayed in a swim up room in block 7 (7109). This I believe is a must for couples who want a little bit of peace and quiet (away from the many many kids !!). The room was by far the largest we have ever stayed in and was kept immaculately clean. The bed was huge and very comfortable, helped by the thick mattress topper which had been added.
The sunbeds provided were a little bit on the beaten up side (mattresses were ripped etc) but they served there purpose.
Swim up pool was surprisingly quite warm as long as you shuffled in quickly.
Drinks were provided by the quiet pool bar on an hourly basis, but you just ordered a couple and shoved them in the fridge for later.

Food was good quality and cooked well. We mostly had brekkie at the adults only (It had less choice than the main restaurant, but was a lot more peaceful)
We used the main restaurant for lunch and evening meals and although the service and food quality were very high, why is it when brits go on holiday, they become little benny hills, running about aimlessly not looking where they are going !!

We tried the evening entertainment at the theater once while there but unfortunately it wasn't for us. Too many kids being allowed to run riot, banging into chairs and spilling drinks, so we visited the adults bar most nights, where Nat done a fantastic job.

All staff/advisers/reps were very friendly.

I would recommend this hotel mostly to families with young kids as they are very well catered for.

Room Tip: Swim up room essential for peace and quiet. Block 7 had the sun till about 4.

We stayed here at the end of January 2013. We were a little anxious after reading some of the reviews but have to say, we were really happy with the resort.
We stayed in a Kids Den room in the block attached to reception and overlooking the quiet pool. The room was really spacious and great for families, the seperate kids room was great to be able to put our 2 year to bed and still be able to stay up without disturbing him. The walk-in shower was great and made showering our son easy after a day at the beach. We had 2x large bottles of water delivered to the room every day, and was able to store them in the fridge after asking the staff to empty the mini-bar items. The room was cleaned every day.
It was my birthday whilst saying here, and the staff delivered a big chocolate birthday cake to the room on the night which was a lovely touch.
The buffet restaurant was great - a different theme every day. There is a fresh pasta and pizza station where you can have dishes made up in front of you, a kids section, huge desert section, fresh salads, lots of different fresh breads and then hot plates. I personally couldn't fault it! There is also fresh warm milk for those travelling with babies/toddlers who still have a bottle. We found this very useful.
We also ate at the chinese, indian and italian restaurants that are part of your all-inclusive, all had a good choice of food and catered for all the family. We also ate at the on-site steak restaurant which you have to pay for. This was by far, the best restaurant at the hotel - great service, great quality food and very cheap ... We only paid £7 each for a huge fillet steak which we were able to cook ourselves at our table on the hot stone - great experience!!
The spa staff can be a bit annoying, they pestered us most days, but the resort was very quiet, so this may not be such a problem in peak season. We found their prices to be expensive for a very average spa.
The beach was very disappointing - it is very gravelly/gritty and not for sandcastles. The sea though is beautiful, clear, and shallow - great for kids and non-swimmers.
The hotel location is good, right on the beach and centre of town. There is a supermarket just outside the hotel, aswell as a McDonalds, KFC, TGIs, Hard Rock Cafe, english pub showing sports, and a local market. The security staff were great, always asked where we were going and gave advice on where to shop etc.
All in all - we found this hotel good value for money and would certainly consider returning.

Room Tip: Kids Den room overlooking the quiet pool are great!
