“Great resort”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013

Just returned on 16 June from a 7 day holiday. We stayed in a deluxe room which was spacious and overlooked the adult pool. The room was only a few minutes walk away from the reception and restaurants and I would recommend that people upgrade to a deluxe room as resort is quite big. The resort itself is beautiful with something for everyone to do. As there are many pools spread out the resort does not feel crowded. The entertainment team are fantastic and the best I have come across soo far. Our room cleaner Abdul was very friendly and did amazing towel art. In fact all the staff here are extremely friendly and helpful and cannot fault them. The only let down for myself personally was the food and drinks. Yes there is a great variety of food however the quality of the food in the main Buffett was not very good. However the food in the fisherman's restaurant and the Italian was of a very good standard. Also the fizzy drinks were a great let down as they were not fizzy and mainly flat and did not taste like actual Fanta, Sprite or Coke as advertised on the pumps but a cheap replica. I also had a very bad case of diarrhoea on the second and last day of the stay as did my partner however am not sure the cause of this. Having said that this resort is fantastic and if you are not too bothered by the food this is a great place too stay.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a deluxe room as close the reception and restaurant as standard room at far back of hotel...

Dear Guests,

Unfortunately the drinks in Egypt are different to the quality in the Uk and different to Spain and other destinations. We are sorry you did not feel the quality of food was good we would like you to tell us which items were bad quality so we can make an improvement. Thank you for your comments and we are pleased you enjoyed the animation team and the service provided.

Kind Regards.

We stayed here on the 19th May for a week, this was our second stay here and we loved how the staff remembered us from last year. We spent most of our time at the adult relax pool the staff were just so lovely, Loved the cocktails made by Mo and Jack
The food at the kebabji hadnt been as good as last year as we didnt get any of the dips and bread, we only got the meat and rice and the staff werent as good either they didnt even say hello and they tried to take our plates away even when we hadnt finished our meal!
We were also slightly disappointed that other guests that had the same type of room had recieved late checkout with no charge as they were returning guests and we had to pay!
All in all though we had a lovely holiday and we will be booking our next holiday here! We loved our room and the location of our room.

Dear Guests,

Thank you for your comments. Firstly I would like to apologise you did not receive a good service from our Kebagi and we will certainly be investigating this. Unfortunately we are unable to reduce or offer a late check out as we have the majority or guests departing on the evening and a lot of guests arriving during the day so some guests are unable to keep their room even with a charge, plus I would like to add the charges are fixed. We had a VIP guest who has returned for the 8th time and this was a small gesture to say thank you for returning so many times.

We are glad you will return again and thank you for your review.

just got back from reef oasis and we are absoultely gutted to be home!! We do not have a bad word to say about the hotel. We arrived at around 11pm where we were greeted with a welcome drink and a cold flannel, our luggage was taken from us and waiting for us on a golf buggy to take us too our room; which was fabulous, me and my partner stayed in a double room about 3 minutes away from the main reception, massive shower and plenty of wardrobe space although there was not many hangers for if you were staying two weeks (like we did). nice sized balcony overlooking the gardens and a fully air conditioned room.
We stayed in room number 2210 and our house keeper was named 'Ahmed' he was the nicest man we met there, we became real good friends with him, he made us feel really comfortable and looked after us and our room perfectly to a very high standard we could not of asked for more. We also had some wonderful towel art. (i even cried when i left :( )! so a special thankyou to him.
The house keepers worked really hard to keep the area around you room clean, and really deserve to be recognised for this. The television in the room had some decent channels on for if you wanted to just chill out for an hour and some good films to watch.

The infinity pool is where we spent most of our time, you do not need to take any towels as you have fresh ones in your room every day and there is a towel center by the pool and down the beach for towels for your sunbed, the workers around the pool were very helpful, put your umberella up for you put your towels on your sunbed for you, they really do go out of there way for you. snorkelling down the beach is fantastic, we saw all sorts of fish and we also saw dolphins twice which was a wonderful surprise. you do not need too bring your own snorkel as you can hire them for the day from down the beach which is just £15 (150 egyptian) for the day. i was frightened to get in the sea and the guys who work there were really helpful and now i am so glad i didnt miss out!! Also the animation team were really nice and friendly, always active in trying to get people to join in, altough they were not pushy at all, there was something for everybody to do, and the shows they do at night are fun to watch, they really put effort into what they do. The jaccuzis on the beach were perfect if you just want to go and relax in a nice quite area, altough when its hitting 44 degrees and you have to walk up and down steps to get a drink it was quite hard work ha ha!

There were various different places to eat, but we liked it in the main bay view resteraunt, something for everybody in there and long trousers for males is not required in this resteraunt.
We also ate in the italian which was lovely but make sure you book in advance as it does get quite busy. (long trousers are required for males in here)
the horizion bar which is by the infinity pool served drinks and food all day and the bar staff were very lovely. At night time after dinner we want and sat outside the carrabien bar over looking the sea and the bay which was really relaxing and romantic.

outside of the hotel
we went on a vip cruise which was a good day out but i wouldnt really call it VIP, the food was not really that good and it got a little boring, a glass of wine and bit of music wouldnt go a miss.
soho square was really nice.
I would not adivce anyone to go to the old market/market mayhem as it was vile! the locals were not nice at all one had hold of my arm and another had hold of my partners arm and tried to seperate us, really scary! And defiitely dont go there if u have children, the people drive the cars like theyve got there eys shut and give u about 2 seconds to move out the way! and to be honest once youve been in one shop youve seen everything anyway. We got some really good presents from ther oriental market at the hotel, and when staying in a 5* hotel you dont need to go out anyway.

this hotel is 100% perfect and we will definitely be returning at the end of the year and next year!
highly recommended.
a special thankyou to all of the staff and the hotel, who made our holiday perfect.

This is our third trip to the reef, and it did not disappoint. The staff are amazing and a special shout out must go to the guys at the relax pool bar, kept us entertained and made sure our 4 o'clock club was kept supplied with drinks and witty humour. Ahmed on the left as you go in the bay view is fantastic with his only fools and horses banter kept us topped up with water and more importantly wine. Mohammed in the pub and terrace makes the most amazing cocktails. I have named a few but all the guys here are amazing and can't do enough for you.

We dived with the ROBB DIVE CLUB which I would highly recommend. The staff there again are amazing.

Overall will we return, you better believe it. We are planning our 4th and 5th trips October this year and June next year.

Special hello to the 4 o'clockers made the hol even better see you next year we hope.

There is a down side the standard of the gin has declined, advice just stay away from the gin lol.

This was our first trip to Egypt and it was very hot sunny weather every day so that's a great start!
This is a lovely hotel, very spread out in gorgeous gardens so be prepared to walk if your room is away from reception (ours was!!)
The staff are everywhere, they are cleaning everything all of the time and cant do enough to help you. The customer service is second to none and they set the standard that other hotels could learn from.
I cant understand some of the comments about the food-its just great. The quality and variety in the main restaurant is excellent and we always found something we liked. The Italian and Fishermans restaurants have to be booked separately and the food in there was also very good and the service first class.
This was a sunbathing holiday for us and the best bit was just getting up and sitting by the relax pool all day. There is no mad dash to reserve beds at 7am which was just bliss and the staff there sort out where you want to sit and look after you with drinks all day if you don't want to move!! Its also a child free zone (strictly enforced) so definitely quiet if that's what you are looking for. We loved the sunbeds in the pool- just what you need when its 43degC!
The only downside for us is that we do like to go out for a walk after dinner but you cant do this here-its in he middle of nowhere. It was no big deal but just expect to put on a few pounds!
Over all very very good and I would recommend you try this hotel.
One last thing-I tried hard to avoid it but ended up with a bad stomach on the last day. My advice is don't bother taking your UK remedies-they don't work! Just get down to the hotel pharmacy who have the magic treatment. Sorted me out in no time.

I was compelled to write a review after reading someone complaining about the food! I have been to various 4/5 * hotels from Mexico to the Maldives and have to say the food at ROBB was amongst the best in terms of choice and quality I have come across. Normally with AI buffets it's a case of the lesser of evils, not so with ROBB. Beef Wellington, steak, duck, excellent selection of salads and sauces (including HP!), calamari, various Chinese dishes and Indian curries name but a few of the choices available. I think it takes a particular fuss pot to not like the food! The rooms are very clean and well presented. The staff are extremely friendly with special mention to Ahmed from Cairo in the Bay View and Mohammed 'Naveed' in the pub/sports bar, always looked after us and made a fuss over my 5 yr old giving him high fives! Italian a la carte was very good, I recommend the Bruschetta and the Veal. Also highly recommend the 'La Romantique', you have to pay for meals here but well worth the money. Starters of scallops and smoked salmon to mains of fillet steak and rack of lamb. The profiteroles are lovely as was the creme brulee by the look of things. Yes it would be better if it was part of the AI but you can genuinely see what your paying for. I wasn't overly impressed with the Fishermans restaurant it seems to be part a la carte, part buffet and generally nothing special. I highly recommend the Quad biking in the desert, very hot but very good fun! I go somewhere different each year but all in all, the ROBB is probably the first hotel I would go back to.

Exceeded our expectations!!! (Which are high)

We are just back from a week in the ROBB and were no where near ready to go home. The hotel is fantastic from start to finish. We opted to upgrade to a Deluxe Room when booking and would recommend doing this. The rooms are great......a nice size, well decorated and also allows various other benefits like free late check out (which we took advantage of, checking out at 6pm and our pick up was 6.20!!...perfect), bathrobes, slippers, the ability to eat breakfast in the Fishermans Restaurant etc etc.....defo upgrade!!!!
Our room was next to the Relax Pool and was an excellent location (room 4110) however there is a free bus that circles around the grounds and stops at various locations to allow easy access to the restaurants etc...I'm someone that likes to get out and about though so never used it and found it very easy to walk around the resort and takes 10 mins max to walk from the reception area to the top of the resort. On top of this the hotel provide driven golf buggies to take your luggage back and forth and you can even phone them to collect you if you like.

The food was great and we tried Kabadgi and also the Italian, we were also planning to try the french restaurant which isn't included in the AI package but fell ill and had to cancel.....A real shame as the menu looked amazing!!!!
The choice each night was fantastic and breakfast was something I always looked forward to, I'm not sure what else they could have provided to ensure every taste was catered for as every night I was left struggling with too much choice and the quality was great.
There is a trouser policy in place for the a la carte restuarants however this is pretty standard in 5* hotels and something I quite like and is clearly stated when booking the restaurants. I usually went down in a pair of linen trousers and a dressy pair of flip flops and never had a problem.
The way you book the restaurants is a breath of fresh air......no queuing at machines eetc, just go to the desk and request the restaurants you want on the date and time you want all in one go if you want and then get on with enjoying your holiday!!!! Fantastic

The pool areas are some of the best I've ever used at a hotel and a firm favourite of ours was the infinity pool area. Truely breathtaking views out towards the Red Sea and close to the lift when you wanted to head down to the beach.

If you like Snorkling, have fancied trying it or never thought about it......I would say to all that you wont be disappointed at the ROBB. This has to be one of the best sites in the Red Sea and you will be amazed at how clear it is, how beautiful the coral is and the endless amount of different sealife you'll see.

One other point to mention around the beach area: The Hotel have 4 Royal Tents you can book for the day which are a truely unique way to spend the day and highly recommended. I booked one for my partners birthday and we loved it!!!

The whole team at ROBB are also worth a massive mention - all the restaurant, pool, bar, bedroom, garden, reception and management go out of there way to make you stay a memorable one and I can't Thank them enough especially for helping me arrange some nice touches for my partners birthday etc and how welcome they made you feel.

The only downside to the holiday was Thompsons which I will take up with the company. I found the reps not a great representation of the company.
Rose is very new and a nice person but you can tell instantly she is still finding her feet however I am sure she will grow into a great rep as she is a lovely person.
Sayid (who seemed to make all the decisions, so I take it is the Senior Member) I found to be very talkitive and interested whilst you were willing to buy trips but that's as far as it went. I mentioned on several ocassions that it was my partners birthday whilst we were there and neither of them even ackowledged this on the day......basic customer service surely?
Compare that to the cake the hotel sent to the room, and the person letter slide under the door....no comparison.
Also both myself and partner fell ill whilst on holiday and Sayid didn't seem interested and also didn't fill in the form that should have been completed until prompted by myself and came across less than compassionate when we had to cancel one of the trips for this reason and I had to stand my ground regarding a refund of the money.....especially as he hadn't thought to mention or display anywhere that there is no refund!!! At the start of the week however he made this big speech about the safety of booking through Thompsons etc rather than the local reps.....he forgot to mention unless you need to cancel......you're no better off!!!
Also we had heard there is a Dolphin place in Sharm where you can swim with them, although this wasn't a trip they provided I asked for some information on it and he lied saying it was closed and then tried to recommend some more of their trips........10 mins later as we were sunbathing by the pool a local who was selling trips by the pool offered us a swim by Dolphin Experience!!!!!
There were several things that I wasn't happy with in regards to Thompsons however I will not taint this review further as this was in no way the Hotels fault.

I'll leave the review by saying we loved the Hotel so much that we are thinking about returning in September of this year and this is completely down to the Hotel and the ROBB team

Room Tip: I would highly recommend upgrading to one of the deluxe rooms as they come with some nice etras, lik...
