“Excited we have booked to come back”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2013 via mobile

We have already put a review on but we had such a lovely holiday we have booked to come back in November with friends we made there and hopefully my sister to. We have emailed the hotel to get same accommodation as before and try got straight back to us.if you are reading this review and plan a holiday at this hotel don't take notice of the bad reviews. We have been to sharm 4 times and this was out first time at this hotel and by far the best we are very much looking forward to our next holiday later this year.

I'm delighted to say that after such a wonderful stay at this hotel last November (we wrote a review on here in December 12), I've booked to go back in March with a few more friends to celebrate a friend's birthday! Can't wait. The staff were helpful and friendly, gave us good advice about places to go and what to pay. The food was fabulous so we hardly ate out and the location could not be better. We'd be fools to stay elsewhere! We've just arranged our stay via email and despite our complicated arrangements with people arriving at different times, it has been straightforward and hassle free. Thank you Mr Hisham and Mr Nabil. We look forward to staying with you in March.
X Jo
Ps my only hesitation about giving a well deserved glowing report was that the hotel might fill up and there won't be room for me to be able to get back in!

Myself and friends booked a luxury trip here for our girls holiday to Egypt. One of the benefits of the hotel was the lovely pools with only a short walk to the private beach.Local amenities are within only a stones throw away from the hotel. The staff were amazing, very attentive, especially Mohamed Rashed (life guard at the pool) and Mahmoud Kashaba (life guard at beach) they made us very much at home and advised us about local attractions and events and tourist spots to view. This advice allowed us to narrow down the most important things to see within our short stay at the hotel/in Egypt.

We stayed at this property 12/2012 and we were aware of the negative reviews on this property, but decided to book because of the location. Sorry to say that we did not experience some of the most negative reviews, but we would not be surprised if they were actually true.

First: On a positive note the check-in for us was extremely helpful, since we flew overnight and the receptionist told us that the manager will make an exception and grant us early check-in at 6:30am at no charge, which was wonderful for us. For this point alone I would rate the property "average". Now for the rest of the stay experience.

(1) Rooms look tired, bathrooms need maintenance, and the location was way too far for us. We had to basically take an elevator to a 7 or 8 Floor, walk corridor, over the bridge and up multiple steps. If the electric cart was there would give us a ride up to the building, otherwise a hike uphill to get there. Now I read the complaints about the "firmness" of the beds (weird 3 single beds setup), and quickly discounted it, but now that we slept on them we can certify they were made "out of concrete". Overnight, I lost feeling of the arm which was in contact with the bed. They were not kidding on their reviews. They need to be changed ASAP. The service is mostly lacking like the negative reviews with very limited exceptions like the pool attendant which was over attentive to all guests.

(2) Now for the food: The buffet was abundant, but repetitive and everything looked good that does not mean "it was good". We had an inclusive plan, but we could not figure out the rules that applied to drinks. Sometimes we were charged for drinks (coffee & tea) sometimes not? I was on vacation and did not want the hassle or complain about minor annoyances. We did not experience stomach problems like most people do, but we stayed less than one week and that seems to be less than the threshold for those events.

(3) Location is very important and this property "has it", convenient it is! But as experienced by other travelers, mostly russian guests and token germans are loud and very rude. Cutting in line for everything, party too much, expose themselves or their wives, drink excessively and have no respect for the customs, religion or culture of the area. Some of them vomited and passed out on the beach and nobody cares! Property entertainment is a joke, a mix between korean karaoke and animal house frat party with much older people.

Tips: First try to get booked on the lower blocks if you can. Not on the "Russian" block if you want to actually sleep overnight. The small cafe on the corner of the property has decent snacks and drinks, and if you ask free "Wi-Fi" internet better than the hotel, but only during the hours that they are open. Mostly afternoon to 4 am, after all this is "naama bay"! Forget about the Hotel tours, but transfers to airports have a decent rate and the service is good. I would arrange for Hotel pickup not to deal with the Airport transportation mess. Bring insect repellent for pesky flies. Try to talk to vendors on the street, it is not polite to ignore them and could get very angry and threatening if you do, while if you actually talk to them with a quick-ready excuse they leave you alone. Who knows, you might even be interested in the crap they sell.

Room Tip: Avoid the Russian "Block".

We got some professional photos taken at the hotel by Rooney he was very professional and they were excellant they were a good price aswell. We spent most days at the Slide Pool plenty going on for my daughter.

We will be back maybe in May for a week, but definitely in November.

Our holiday was fantastic, great hotel and great service and staff, one member of staff in particular was Mohamed Rashed, such a kind man and we have made a genuine friend who I will never forget! Everyday he wold save me, my boyfriend, my mum and her boyfriend the best sun beds by the slide pool so we were in the sun all day, he was very funny when he pushed us in the pool all the time, and very sneaky too! He is one of the kindest people I have ever met, a real friend and I would be devastated if he wasn't there when we eventually came back to tropitel! I miss that holiday and Mohamed so much! Those memories will stay with me forever!
