From the time we arrived the problems started as there seemed to be no booking for us. After this we had to do non stop complaining and moaning along with all the other English families. The resort was more or less closed for renovations and after more complaining we were moved to the connecting resort further down near the beach. In short now we ended up in what seemed like a Italian resort. Everything from the food to the activity staff all were Italian and they really wanted nothing to do with the English. They couldnt even say "HELLO" in English and It was very humiliating to see the staff playing with the Italian childeren and not even managing a"SMILE" for our kids, let alone doing activities. This is why we spent £400 on excursions so we could keep the kids from getting bored.
We made great freinds with other English families and our childeren got along really well. This enabled us to stick together and moan about the food, drinks ( very stingy )etc.
In short make sure you book with a reputable resort!

The New Tower Club was recommended by our Travel Agent as 5*, well it's not, it could be....but not right now, and we 've had our holiday so we didn't witness 5* accomodation as there is lots that needs doing. The whole resort is completely there for the benefit of Italians, and whilst I have nothing against the Italians, when you are in the minority and completely ignored, it doesn't make for a holiday. Although I must say, we did make an effort and towards the end of of our holiday they were prepared to look in our direction....
Please be warned that you cannot take away bottles of water from the bar, you will be charged, even though this is an AI resort....your water is given to you in small plastic cups and apparently that's because the water has been wasted in the past by the Italians who chose to wash their hair with it......
The pool at the sister hotel where we moved to as the "New Tower Club' was closed (this is what we told on arrival) is very dirty, I wanted to get my scrubbing brush out and give it good once over with some jif! Whilst the surrounding area to the pool is covered in astro turf, this is safer than tiling for the kids but not particularly hygenic as a bit of a pong was coming from it....
The food is very repetitive, and caters for Italians I read somewhere that that they have themed nights, well they've changed that, because whilst Friday was fish night and Thursday is eat by the pool night (best night of food) every other night is exactly the same.
Basically this was very disappointing and not what I had expected and would not recommend. We stayed at the Sheraton Sharm in 2006 and had a fab time, and the Sheraton is 5*.....
Out of the 16 families that came and went in our 2 week stay 6 of these moved to the Sheraton, the reasons we never moved were that our kids made friends, we met some great people and we weren't able to contact our Travel Agent.......Mmmmmm

The hotel is only for italians the bar staff struggle with english all the food is italian. If you dont like pasta your in for a shock. All the entertainment day or night is not for you. you will not be included in anything. It is by far the worst place to be stuck for two long weeks.YOU TRAVEL should know better! If you have already booked to stay here.Try and get moved.

Hi,
Having read al the crap reviews on this hotel, i think its all down to personal preferences, a holiday is what u make it at the end of the day. We didnt find this resort to be too bad at all.

Went at start of May and weather was scorchio, 40 degrees most days! So make sure u pack a high SPF you burn very quickly out there. The pool is lovely and clean, infact the whole resort was kept very clean. The staff are over friendly and very helpful (mainly because most like to think u might tip them). The rooms get cleaned religiously every day, and we even got shapes and animals made out of towels left on our bed, which was a nice touch. The food was buffet style, lots of variety and different options every night, the deserts...well you'l be like a kid in a sweet shop!! so much choice. :) The all inc alcohol was a bit limited, in that there were no nice wines included so we pretty much stuck to beer all week (and came back a few pounds heavier lol!) They have no drinks lists so if you want a cocktail, good luck in trying to explain it to the barman! You can buy bottled water from the bar for about 7 Egyption pounds (we shopped around and to be honest its the same price in the local shops too). There are some quant little touristy shops down the stairs next to the main Tower Club resort, also a gym, diving centre, the beach, the poolside entertainment. (This part of the complex is focused on Italians may I add so dont expect to be included in the activities!) And for some reason all bar staff think if your English U are actually Russian????

The beach is quite long and peacefull with two jetties for diving and snorkelling around the coral reef (which is pretty much 100 metres off the shore). The fish are very friendly, and well worth seeing, a few even come right in to paddling level to greet you!

Be wary of taxi drivers tryin to scam you, a trip into Naama Bay should cost no more than 25 Egyptian pounds so haggle. Due to lack of evening entertainment I would recomend Naama Bay for bars and restaurants, theres plenty of choice there, its very commercial, few street traders so be wary. We went to Little Buddha restaurant (sushi, fish etc) which was really posh and elegant with a huge gold buddha inside! the mexican next to that is also excellent, and try the Monkey Bar (they have an odd habit of throwing monkey nut shells all over the floor, its like a barn in there, seriously! But the roof top views in there are awesome.

If you go with YouTravel.com you may have Samantha as your rep, word of warning she is totally useless, so do your research before you get there as she doesnt seem to know anything about the resort!! In all though we had a very relaxing chilled holiday which went too quickly for our liking! Would possibly go back again, as you cant grumble at their prices, and in May it was fairly quiet which was nice. Remember the egyptian equivalent of 5* is prob closer to a 3/4* for them so dont go expecting all out luxury for £300!!

Enjoy your hol and pls get in touch if you want to ask anything. Have added a couple of pics of resort if your interested.

Caz

well..where do i start. This hotel was run over with italians, they were very rude and we wasnt included in any of the activities!! there was one night of entertainment, and they spoke the entertainment in italian, it was as if we wasn't there!
the food was the same everyday and nothing that the english would like, again it was as if thye italians were only there.
The pool was the most dirtiest swimming pool i have seen in my life. There were flies, sick, sand, leafs and hair in the pools!!

I don't want people thinking i am just moaning but i have been around the world and i wouldnt recomment no english to go there because you will regrat it when you get ome!!

We were told this resort was a 5* and wasn't quite that but was pleasant. The complex was overrun with italians and they were a bit ignorant. Food was ok, good selection, themed each night. For a complete chill out week it was good, beach area was good, plenty of loungers and cushions with complimentory beach towels. Not a sandy beach! Facilities were good with entertianment going on, if you could speak italian, BIG BONUS!
Highly recommend trip to Old Sharm in the evening. Trip to Cairo was good but wouldn't recommend for kids under teenage years as some parts are a big gruesome. Quad biking in the desert was a laugh! Overall clean rooms, ok food, good weather, lovely snorkelling and diving! Would go back.

Where do I start telling you about this dump...............

It's supposed to be 5* .............. what a joke............ I'd give it three and that's being generous.

We arrived at about 10-00pm local time on Sunday 15/4/07 and we had booked into a two roomed bungalow with sea view as it was our Silver Wedding and we thought we'd treat ourselves. We confirmed this with the hotel reception when we checked in and he confirmed that's what we had. We then signed all the paperwork and the bellboy then disappeared with our cases down this long dimly lit corridor. Eventually we caught up with him and found ourselves in a hotel room in the main hotel complex and NOT in the bungalow that we had paid for and told we were in.

We where tired so decided to sort it out the next day when the travel rep turned up, so we went to sleep and woke to go for breakfast the next day.... and this is where the fun really started. We where on an all-inclusive holiday which means everything is supposed to be all-inclusive. The food at breakfast-time was awful. Cold everything including scrambled egg, the only thing that was warm was freshly cooked omelette or the milk for your cereals or the yogurts...... YUK. The staff where miserable as well..... never spoke to you except for the restaurant manager who greeted you. Lunch was not much better, again warm cooked chicken with flies everywhere, warm beef, again with flies everywhere, warm salad with..... you've guessed it..... etc.....etc.....etc. After lunch we met the rep....... hurrah...... things will be sorted now........ NO WAY.... she told us that the hotel had double booked and they had put all the Italians in the bungalows an all the other nationalities in the hotel but she would see what she could do so leave it with her...... so we did ....... and we waited...... and waited......... and waited.... but she had done a vanishing act as all she wanted to do was flog us some overpriced day trips to here, there and everywhere. so my wife and I decided that the food was unsafe to eat that we went into Naama Bay and ate there as we'd had nothing to eat since breakfast, and what a great decision that was HOT FOOD....... Yum Yum. The next day we skipped breakfast and dinner and got talking to three other couples around the pool and found out that the Italians at the bottom resort (New Tower Beach) where having a whale of a time, all the hot food that they could eat and all the drinks they could drink and all it needed was a wristband......... but the guests in the hotel didn't get wristbands...... so we couldn't eat there even though we where supposed to all be the same. It appeared to me and all the other couples that as they had overbooked they would put all the Italians in one place........i.e. the best place, and all the others in the hotel..... even though I'd paid for the room that they where staying in. The hotel where been as awkward as possible, so we eventually asked our tour operator to move us to another hotel, anywhere as long as it was away from this one. My wife was really upset by this time as this was our silver wedding day and felt that the holiday was ruined and she wanted to go home there and then. We eventually got packed up and had to pay extra to move to the other hotel but in the end it was well worth it, and my wife was overcome with emotion with the difference in the two hotels. (See my review on Hilton Sharks Bay).

To sum up................. If your British and you've booked into one of the bungalows, make sure you get in it. If they put you in a room in the main hotel complex........ move...... and don't eat the food.
