Diving.

We've just got back from an 11 night stay at OONAS and had a fantastic time. We spent 4 days on their boat, the Obi Wan and couldn't have been in a happier friendlier place if we'd tried. The staff at the dive club are warm, friendly and welcoming and they made us feel like old friends from day one. Our instructor, Bea, was awesome, and not only made us feel safe in experienced hands, but was obviously experienced and extremely knowledgeable. She had a real love of the natural environment and never failed to point out the most interesting and elusive animals.
I would spend every day of my holiday on the boat if I could. If anyone is thinking of taking a non diving partner, they are also welcome on the boat for a days snorkeling. On most of the dives the snorkeler could follow the divers from above and jump in with the rest of us and then climb back on the boat at any time they felt like it. It's a much better way to spend the day than to just lounge on the beach.
I'll be doing everything I can to go back one day.
Book direct with the hotel for a dive package and get an extra days boat diving included in the package. Their communication is excellent, so just email them any questions you have. They also offer discounts to repeat customers so if you're thinking of doing your PADI open water course, then it works out really cost effective to then go on and do the advanced course as well. It actually worked out more cost effective for me than just going boat diving as all the equipment and dive guides are included in the course price.
There were some divers on the boat with over 20 years experience and they were more than happy with the diving, so they cater for everyone from beginner to advanced.

Hotel

The hotel itself is basic, but has everything you need. The prices are more than reasonable. A spaghetti bolognaise in the hotel bar was just £3 and a beer was just £2.10 so you won't spend a fortune. There are loads of bars and restaurants along the promenade as you walk into the main resort centre so we were really spoilt for choice and you can go as near or as far as you want for an evening meal. They had a full size fridge in the room so we had plenty of space to fill it up with fruit juices and water bottles etc. There are tea and coffee facilities as well, but the coffee was nescafe original so you may want to take your own jar of coffee if you're fussy like me. The air con was good too.

Excursions ( A couple we went on, nothing to do with the hotel )

The go kart track is within walking distance and is a good £5 cheaper if you walk in, also you can chose a 9bhp kart, rather than the 6.5bhp karts that you get if you book through one of the excursions companies. They were fast enough for us to have fun on, and we've done a bit of karting before.

We also went on the desert quads, which was a trip through the desert for 45 mins or so with a stop for drinks and photos etc along the way and then a return journey. If you want to simply have a look at the desert then this trip may appeal to you, but it was shear boredom for my friend and I as you have to follow the leader at only about 15 to 20 mph and if you dare to move out of line they immediately tell you off. They charge £2 for a 200ml drink of fizzy orange which is a rip off in any country so take a big bottle of water with you. You can wedge it under the luggage rack on the quad so you don't need to carry it.

Room Tip: They do suites, so if you can afford it, go for a suite.

I learnt to dive with Oonas Dive Club. They provide excellent instruction in a friendly welcoming environment. As a solo traveller I was made very welcome and was never short of new dive friends to have a drink or meal with.

Inexpensive food at the restaurant. Friendly service with warm welcome every time.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the rear, away from the sea, for a quieter room. Or towards the sea if you want a...

It does what it says on the tin! A superb dive centre with skilled, enthusiastic and professional instructors. Hotel basic but clean and fresh towels and linen every day. Diving fantastic and supported by two boats with skilled crews. Equipment first rate. Nick and Corri have built a very effective and caring organisation.

I shall return again (this was my second visit)!!!!!!

Wether you're alone, in a group ore just with you're buddy, you are always welcome. The fab staff is alway friendly, knowing who you are and having a beer with you after diving. The hotel is basic (airco, tv, fridge) but very clean! So people stay away, so I can still book here whenever I want ;-)

We stayed at Oonas dive club hotel in April. We had never used oonas before as always went with emperor. The team are brilliant and very professional. We were very unlucky as my husband got ill on the boat and had to be medi vaced off by speed boat. The manager arranged everything and was at the hospital waiting for us. Taxis were arranged for me to get back to the hotel and i felt very safe. All i can say is you cant fault oonas they are brill, just book. The hotel is very clean and the food is good too.

Room Tip: All the rooms look out to the sea

You go to a dive club to dive and meet like minded people...correct?
This dive club consistently ranks as one of the best diveclubs in the world.
It welcomes groups families and single travellers alike. The Diveguides are fabulous and the egyptian staff awsome! The hotel may be basic but it is loved and clean with a small "Tribal family feeling" and the benefit of your room imediately present is invaluable. The after diving social life is unique...."Beer Oclock is famous!" The onsite restauraunt and roof bar good and it is normal to go out with your fellow guests to sample the delights/restauraunts of Sharm later if you can stay awake after such fantastic diving.
There is a large proportion of return customers.
The Red Sea and Tip of the Sinai in particular has some of the best dive sites anywhere.
Situated on Naama bay and within walking distance of the center but far enough away from the noise.Guests are drawn from around the world British,Dutch,Swiss,American,Baltic,Arabic,Basically a wonderful United Nations of diving.Arriving alone is normal leaving without new friends improbable!!
I have been lucky enough in life to have dived around the world the diving here is simply brilliant and the ethos and atmosphere at this club will have you returning year after year....I simply cant recomend this diving destination and particularly this outfit enough.

Room Tip: Not on your life......they are all good and clean........however ok then if you think the room is im...

This hotel is fairl basic but extremely clean and serviced daily. The floors are tiles so can hear people clomping around upstairs if they are wearing "clogs". Rooms have TV kettles and Aircon. All rooms have balcony that have sea views.

Bathroom is huge and shower was cleaned daily. Plenty of hot water as well.

Breakfast served downstairs in bar restaurant which also serves drinks all day. It is basic but provides all you might expect and you can order eggs done the way you like them. The beach is borrowed from Sonora and you can only use the lower slope sunbeds but there are plenty to go round. The water has plenty of fish and coral to keep snorkellers interested. If scared of the water can use the floating pontoons to walk down to fish.

Downsides: rooms above dive shop are noisy after boats arrive back from dives refilling tanks until 9.30PM or so. Area is away from main drag so can be difficult to get taxis and hotels nearby have discos but air con elleviates this issue.
