“A Very Special Hotel”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

We have just returned from our third holiday at the Baron Resort and have to say that, yet again, our stay was outstanding. The service from all the staff was genuinely friendly, nothing was too much trouble and our every need was met.

The plentiful dining options meant that we were never bored with the food and, in fact, the Indian and Italian restaurants are to such a high standard that we dined in both many times.

The beach, swimming and leisure facilities (including the animation team) are run to a very high standard and you can either chill out or enjoy the numerous activities at your leisure.

We will definitely be returning for a fourth time and cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Many thanks to all the staff and management at Baron Resort for making our holiday extremely enjoyable.

We haven't actually been here yet, but stayed a few years ago in the hotel next door, which is now a sensatori. The place looked great even then, so we have decided, for our 9th visit to Egypt to come to the Baron, which we booked today!!! From the reviews i am expecting paradise and I cannot wait.. Be sure my review will be up after our trip in August 2014!!!

We have just returned from our second visit to Baron Resort this year, one week in March and now two weeks in December. If anything, it was even better this time than last. The staff are marvelous, nothing being too much trouble, friendly and courteous without exception.
Having been coming to Sharm for ten years now, this is the best Hotel we have found without doubt

This hotel has everything you could wish for to indulge in a relaxing family holiday. The premium all inclusive package has you wanting for nothing, literally. Bathrobes, (also for our 2 year old son). Flip flops, daily stocked mini bar with soft drinks and beers in the rooms. The toiletries are a lovely touch, sewing kits, etc etc. around the pool there was very good quality wooden sun loungers with thick cushioning, so comfortable. Of course they had children's sun loungers( something you don't often see at hotels). Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, I spoke with Mr Mustafa (front of house manager) who arranged for my husband and I to renew our wedding vows, they made us a cake and all the managers attended.
From the time you walk into the hotel you are treated like you are the most important people in the hotel. The lobby is fabulous, Cheryl and Armie are waiting 24 hours a day to serve drinks and snacks, lovely piano playing atmosphere. Lots of food choice at the buffet restaurant, Indian restaurant magnificent with manager Rabie remembering everything about you and what you drink etc. animation team Diana and Maddy are friendly and easily approachable and I participated in belly dancing classes. I apologise if anyone was watching. Ha ha. Hoping to come back to this hotel next year. Rooms are massive, tv in English.
Had a massage in the spa and used the steam bath. So relaxing. All part of the package.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms seemed to be smaller than the main rooms on the first floor. Double the size.

I took a last minute four day break to get some winter sun. All of the hotels are suffering from the current political situation despite the area being ranked safe by the FCO website. Excellent staff, very friendly and with a highly visible general manager who clearly runs the hotel very well. It is exceptionally clean and the food was of good quality. I particularly enjoyed the Egyptian restaurant although the Italian and Indian were also good.

The hotel is situated a little further out and therefore nice and quiet. Excellent beach and a very large pool.

If you are travelling independently the transfer booking process is a little chaotic ( I had to send the same information to three different people) but otherwise the service was faultless.

Overall I think this is an excellent hotel at the price and would certainly recommend it to fellow travellers.

Room Tip: Pool facing rooms are worth paying for

My partner and I have just had the most amazing two week holiday at the “Baron Resort” in Sharks’ Bay, Sharm-el-Sheikh.

From the time we arrived until our departure we were treated like VIPs and were completely blown away by so many wonderful things about this top quality hotel.

These included friendly efficient courteous staff, top quality restaurants (including the buffet where guests had breakfast and could dine in the evenings) plus the following a-la carte: Indian, Italian, Seafood, Egyptian, and the poolside restaurant in the evenings, large spotlessly clean well furnished bedrooms with all mod-cons and gorgeous sea view, stylish foyer with a beautiful polished patterned marble floor, large size pool, lovely clean beach with hundreds of sun-beds and a jetty leading out into crystal clear waters with reefs and beautiful fish , ideal for diving, snorkelling etc ….I could go on and on!

We went all-inclusive, and as the hotel was very quiet, we were allowed to use the a la-carte restaurants every night, if we so wished. We also had complimentary fresh fruit delivered to the room on a regular basis and the contents of the mini-bar were also free for our use. Laundry was also done free, and the shirts were returned to us after a few hours, beautifully ironed and presented in a cellophane wrapper, just like new.

My partner and I have travelled extensively round the world on business and pleasure over the years, and I can confidently say this hotel was higher quality than the other 5* hotels we have stayed at in the past, with its excellent blend of efficiency and friendliness/homeliness. To give some examples of this, staff would come round the pool at certain times of day asking if guests would like their sunglasses cleaned! They would also come round with refreshing (freezing cold) hand towels before lunch, and would offer to spray guests with a hand-held scented cool water spray to cool them down in the 30deg heat.

Attention to detail was everywhere! Staff kept everything spotless, with some working overnight to correct any minor faults that may have occurred during the day. There was also a painter and decorator who would wander round discreetly with his pot of paint touching up any minor blemishes in the paintwork so everything looked perfect!

The hotel appears to be extremely well managed. The Mr Abdel Hamid Ahmed (General Manager) and his colleagues walked around the hotel separately at various times of the day and night discreetly observing things, and having a quiet word with guests asking if they had any problems, and asking what, if anything, they would suggest to improve things. From what we heard, no one had a bad thing to say about the place.

The gardeners did a wonderful job too, keeping the beautiful grounds in tip-top condition and they always had a cheery wave and a smile for their guests.

The security guards at the main gate were real gentlemen too. We booked an early morning trip to Luxor, and while we were waiting for pickup outside the gate at 4:30am, the guard came out and offered us chairs while we were waiting! Now that’s service!

Guests arriving and leaving the hotel are serenaded by several drummers dressed in local costumes; ladies arriving get a garland of flowers put round their necks. When groups of guests leave, the manager also comes out with some of the staff to wave goodbye and bon-voyage! Staff make you feel you are important to them.

As we were there on 1st December, the hotel erected a 5 metre tall Christmas tree in the foyer, and the manager came along to switch on the lights, and to make a short speech. Hotel guests were offered canapés and mulled wine by staff (including the lovely Sheryl who is an absolute asset to the place), and there was a lovely festive atmosphere with Father Christmas on hand to give out presents to the children.

It is a shame that people are being put off coming to Sharm-el-Sheikh by intermittent problems a long way off in Cairo! To put things into perspective, Cairo is 6 hours away (520km) from Sharm by road (that’s like London to Penzance), and the Sharm area is well protected by frequent road blocks and check points!!!

Local people may be going out of business because tourists are staying away, and they pleaded with us to tell people back home that Egypt is now open for business again.

Room Tip: Sea View is a must.
