“Wonderful hotel”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at this hotel and will definitely be going back as soon as we can! The actual hotel is luxurious and modern. We had a room in the main hotel which was large and well equipped, although tea and coffee making facilities would have been a bonus. A large flat screen tv and fridge are in the room. There is a wide selection of food at mealtimes and the staff cater for your every need. Special mention to chef Essam Kamal who prepared special meals for my husband as he is a fussy eater. Special mention also to Wahim the pool attendant who was very helpful organising our sun beds and towels every day. The only thing that lets this hotel down is the entertainment although it didn't bother us. There is entertainment but as other reviewers have said its not very good. The animation team (in particular Helena) do a brilliant job and work long hours all the while being polite and friendly. All in all a brilliant holiday!

Great Hotel fantastic staff could not be more helpful will definately return.Only ten mins from airport which is a plus.As a solo traveller felt really safe and staff went that extra mile.Only downside was entertainment could have been better if it was outside by the pool a lot more people would take more of an interest

Room Tip: rooms at top near quieter pool are in great location

We've just returned from a week break here. We had a great time and would definitely return again. From the reviews we read before we went there wasn't much info on location but its just a 20 min walk or cheap taxi ride to a shopping area complete with Starbucks, KFC, Maccies, Hard rock café and TGI Fridays (where they don't serve alcohol-weird). Hard rock is expensive, TGI's is reasonable. But beware they charge tax and service charge on top of prices, which can amount to quite a bit. You do get asked to go in shops but it's quite friendly and we didn't have any trouble, as long as you're polite you'll be ok. We visited the casino in naama bay (£15 round trip from hotel taxi) about half hour away. If you plan to go here TAKE EUROS they cannot change Egyptian pounds at the casino. We didn't do any excursions, and if like us you don't want to go out of Sharm do not pay for the visa at the airport. Nothing has prices on anywhere (except the airport which is very expensive) do not pay what they ask as everyone says you'll get it for less than half what they want. If you get a taxi and it's not the hotels, agree a price before you get in, and don't get on a camel unless you want to be ripped off. The resort itself is very pretty and the staff are very helpful. Our room was good with a selection of English channels, the shower was good and rooms were cleaned daily. the beds are hard and you will notice this but we were so tired after all the sun we soon got over it The hotel provide bottled water from all the bars and the restaurant although they don't put it in your fridge except the day you arrive which we found odd as all other places we've stayed at do. I found the food ok, but nothing special. There was a limited selection, but i'm fussy so it may just be me. We're used to Mexico and it's no where near as good especially the breakfasts, they don't have your 'English fry ups', and no hash browns! We would recommend going to the Italian al la carte its the only one included in the all inclusive and its really nice and you get great service and can go as often as you like, we went 3 times in a week. The snorkelling is good, bring coral shoes. The pools are great we liked the quiet pool with mostly English around it, it wasn't busy when we went so plenty on sunbeds available. Although we didn't go to any of the hotel entertainment they offer karaoke, a live singer, and shows, limited but there is something to do if you don't want to go out. British guests are a minority, there was about 45 British guests when we went the rest were Russians. The one thing that can be guaranteed is the sun. All in all a great, cheap, sunny holiday.

Have just returned from a wonderful week in Nubian Island. Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the quiet pool. It was large and had lots of storage. The bathroom was also large and had a never ending supply of hot water in the shower. The food was amazing. So much choice. Staff bent over backwards to ensure you had a great time. We had our sunbed man who put our beds where we wanted them each day, our waiter who gave us perfect rose wine each meal, and the barman who made a lovely brandy cocktail.
We ventured out shopping and enjoyed bartering. Got some great fakes. We also went to Hard Rock Cafe, about a 15 min walk and had a lovely cocktail there.
The only downside to this hotel is the Russians. Rude and arrogant. Even the kids scowl at you!!!

Room Tip: Overlook the quiet pool.

we have just returned from our 10th stay at this hotel (the last time was in oct 2010). we keep coming back because of the staff and for just chilling out.
the entertainment is really still pretty poor, and although it was not really a problem for us it will be for others as they are expecting more british guests to come in the future. i have also said in previous reviews that if you have walking difficulties then you will have a problem as they have no lift in the hotel and you would need to ask for a room near the main building.
thanks again to all the staff for looking after us as usual especially wassim in reception, taman in lobby bar and ahmed in top pool bar but there are so many to mention.
we will be back and as i have said if you just want total relaxation then please go to nubian island.

My partner and I both loved this holiday. This was week two of a two week 'cruise and stay' holiday booked (very last minute) with Thomson. Our first week was spent on the 'Red Sea Cruise' on the Thomson Celebration (also highly recommended) where we got the most out of the opportunity to go on excursions including; Wadi Rum, Petra, Cairo and Luxor (phew!). So we were both looking forward to a relaxing second week which we got! We spent a lot of time by the 'quiet pool' (day and night!), on the beach and had a course of spa treatments.
My partner is gluten free and he informed the Thomson rep who then introduced him to the Head Chef, Mr Odea, who took time to show him the dishes he could eat and on a few occasions even bought him special dishes he could eat. He was very happy to discover the local beer was wheat free!
We did a couple of excursions; VIP Cruise (very good) and the Market Mayhem (just a trip out to the local shops at night in a group). Our independent trip to Naama Bay was better, chech out the rooftop Camel Bar, very good bar experience.
The staff at Nubian Island are excellent, all very friendly. A very relaxing and enjoyable holiday, recommended.

Room Tip: We had a room right by the quiet pool which was very well situated and handy for everything.

Unfortunatley I would have put on a very good review but for a very bad incident. But let us start with the positives.Food very good & British guests get special dishes some evenings served by the waiters who were all very good & you can even speak to the Head Chef.We stayed in a bungalow room (922) which had two bedrooms & private garden very spacious but no tea & coffee making facilities although you can hire a kettle.Animation Team are new & they are slowly settling in, shows in evening are the usual BGT there is a lot of Russians at the Hotel (400) when we stayed only 40 Brits so give Karoke a miss!! Kassandra sings a varation of songs in the main bar most evenings as well.Special thanks also to( Doncaster Jack,Vako and Kassandra part of Animation Team)
Now the Negative.
On our ninth night out of eleven I noticed an item clothing missing missing from the draw I reported this incident to reception that evening & to the Thomson Rep in the morning @ 08.30.We then had breakfast & was returning to the room @ 09.50 where we noticed several people in our room who produced the item stating they found it between the two single beds on the floor. They had not informed us or the Thomson Rep of this procedure was to be carried out. This was not an isolated incident which had occured during our stay other guests had simular situations as well & when reported the items reappear when you are not in the room.So my Tip is when you return from your holiday or before just check you have all your items. The outcome of this is of course is denial !!! Even when I reported this to the General Manager there was no apology.

Room Tip: Choose Family Bungalows
