“Total Relaxation”

This is our 2nd visit to the hotel which was better than the 1st time. Can't praise this place enough and will most definately be there again for 2013. Staff were great, friendly, always working hard. Stayed by pool side and Mo who dealt with the towels was such a gentleman always looked after his guests and always knew where each wanted to sit in the sun. Mohamed who continuously cleaned the tables in the evening always smiled and tried to speak english as mush as possible. The staff in the main restaraunt to the main bar and pool bar equally smiling and working hard. Not alot of Brits there, but would recommend others giving it a try. General Manager was on hand answering any questions which we had. Met some really nice people there as well.To all the staff well done for making our holiday it was totally relaxing will be back for the special birthday and we will know how much we will enjoy it. My partner and I arrived at this hotel in the afternoon on the 10th of Dec. We had virtually no waiting time at reception and we were shown to our room immediately and our bags arrived 5mins later. The rooms were small but nice and there was enough storage for our belongings and a free electronic safe which is good. The only problem we had was that there was a lot of mosquitoes in the room and we got bitten quite a lot. The guys who work in the shopping arcade beside the reception are friendly but like all shopkeepers in Sharm the do try to for a sale upon you. We spent most of our time down at the 2nd pool beside the beach as it is heated and the bar staff are really good and friendly. You also have the use of the next door hotels water slides and pools. The entertainment team are nice people also and they do try to get people involved in activities. Charlie the Chelsea fan from the animation team is a good lad and gives his dancing 100% effort even if slightly uncoordinated :) So as the title says we had a great time at this hotel and all the staff are friendly from the towel guys to the housekeeping. One final point I would have to make is that the holidaymakers are probably 60% Russian 30% Italians and 10& British. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I will probably return with my children in the future.

Stayed at the Nubian Island for a week 15th November. We have been to Egypt several times, but usually travel independently, further North in relatively quiet and unspoilt Dahab. However, we saw a good deal at our local travel agents and decided to book at short notice. We were a bit apprehensive at the prospect of staying in what for us seemed a large hotel, and Egypt certainly doesn't spring to mind as a place to go 'all inclusive' (the local food is cheap and delicious). Nevertheless we were not disappointed.
Check in was straightforward, and although we didn't request it, we were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge - a grand start to our holiday!
The hotel is set in beautifully tended gardens which are even more magical at night with the little bridges to the bungalows all lit up.
Our suite was on a corner on the first floor, so we had views of the pool and the sea. It consisted of two rooms, both with balconies and wide screen TV's, great for watching the news channel before going down for breakfast). There were tea/coffee making facilities, a fridge and a safe at no extra charge). The bathroom had the usual facilities AND a bath!
The food was excellent, if anything there was TOO MUCH choice, evident in my waistline when we left! Not sure what people mean when they refer to barbecue nights - there was something sizzling on the barbecue EVERY night during our stay. You can choose from pasta, pizza, fish, meat, rice, salad, spicy, not spicy, plain... There's a multitude of different breads to choose from, not to mention exquisite deserts and lots of fresh fruit. There's even a separate kiddies section where the little ones can get fries, chicken nuggets, mini pizzas, burgers etc., Breakfast is just as varied, with cereals, fruit, yogurts and eggs cooked freshly, any way you like 'em! The waiters will bring bottled water to your table with every meal. If you want extra bottles to take back to your room, just ask. Of course you might want want something stronger, either way, it's not a problem.
On several occasions we had lunch at the lower restaurant by the spa. It's a smaller place, serving equally good food as the main restaurant with the added bonus of having outside seating. We also booked to eat at the Italian place, again at the lower end of the complex, and the food here was exceptional and the portions LARGE!
The hotel has two pools both of which are a good 10 degrees cooler than the sea in November! The one nearest reception is quieter and popular with British guests. The lower, livelier one has music/entertainment and is frequented by Russians and Italians. On the subject of non UK guests, YES, the Russians are notoriously rude but this is Egypt, and the reality is that Russia has a vested financial interest in Egypt, so not surprisingly this is their destination of choice when it comes to a holiday. Interestingly enough, they are all middle class professionals who ought to know better! Anyway, lets not dwell on that, you don't have to interact with them, and to be fair, on all our trips to Egypt we have met Russian families who went out of their way to get to know us, swapping stories and generally putting the world to rights!
Evening entertainment is again (generally) geared to non British guests, but the shows they put on are quite entertaining and the singers in the lobby bar are also very good. The only exceptions we found were the two creepy guys, one British, the other East African, whose specific role seemed unclear, but they were possibly the two who didn't quite cut the mustard on the 18-30 interviews? Despite trying to like them throughout our stay, neither had any redeeming qualities and we couldn't help but come to the conclusion that they were either suffering from delusions or stoned. Or both?

There are a couple of tiny shops beside the quiet pool selling souvenirs/essentials and there's also a small shopping arcade directly across the main road with souvenirs, mini-market and pharmacy. Further up the road, in the opposite direction to the airport you'll find more shopping, bars etc.,
You can take a bus or taxi into Old Sharm where the environment is a little bit more authentic Egyptian, I guess it could be described as little Cairo, sanitised...
The beach can be found just a short 5 minute walk through the grounds, small but perfectly formed and with plenty of sun beds, shades and hot showers. There are people trying to sell massages, trips etc., but if thats not your scene, a polite 'no thanks' is all it takes. We arranged to go on a snorkelling trip to Tiran Island, a choppy crossing, not for the faint hearted but well worth it with a stop en route to snorkel by one of the many wrecks. The coral here is in excellent health and the variety of marine life is awesome. If choppy boat trips don't appeal, you can safely snorkel off the private jetty, or alternatively just walk out a few yards from the shore (make sure you're wearing sea shoes though as the coral wreaks havoc on uncovered skin!).
For those who may be worried about mossies, we didn't see ANY. There's a guy who comes round every evening at dusk and fumigates the whole complex so as long as you take the usual precautions and use a good repellent if you plan on getting out and about (and I mean daytime as well as evenings) you should have no problems. Be aware though that you don't want to be outdoors when he does his rounds!
Overall the complex is very clean and well maintained, the staff are friendly and efficient and the rooms are more than adequate. Add to this excellent food, beautiful weather and less than six hours travelling time from the UK why even consider going long haul?
A couple of staff members deserve a special mention: Mohammad Ahmed in the lobby bar, Mo at the pool bar and George the GM who happily wanders round chatting to the guests and making sure everything meets with our approval!

Room Tip: Bungalow rooms 701-757 are particularly well positioned, but a suite on the first floor is by far th...

We visited Egypt for the first time and enjoyed 11 nights at this beautiful hotel. This holiday was arranged to celebrate my 50th birthday and we were not disappointed. To be honest we did absolutely nothing outside the hotel due to us both needing to just unwind and laze in the sunshine. We had a lovely room overlooking the pool and spent our days swimming, sunbathing by the lagoon pool and whirlpool then deciding what to eat from the large selection of food on offer. We were allowed to totally relax and once you made it clear to the reps selling tours that you were not interested you were left in peace. George the hotel manager was often to be seen around the hotel and I watched his assistant every morning going all around the hotel to check that standards were maintained. I feel that one staff member in particular made a special effort to help all guests this is Mo who looks after the lagoon pool. He is there from 6:30 every day cleaning the pool and sorting out towels and loungers. His sense of humour is infectious. Another staff member is a young man named Mohammed Ahmed who was responsible for keeping the tables clean outside in the evening. He was constantly taking glasses away and keeping all the area rubbish free. He really made an effort to speak English and was very polite and always smiling. I know from the other reviews that the 'Russians' are mentioned often but don't let that put you off. This hotel has the staff and style to suit us 'Brits' and you will be treated extremely well. The hotel is set in nice grounds, beach is ok. Rooms were clean and reasonable. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. During our stay there were only 8 English guests the rest were mostly Italians and Russians. The Russians came across as very rude. Which didn't help our experience, we have stayed in lots of hotels in the Caribbean, and find the all inclusive concept is much better there. The drinks selection included was poor, we had to keep getting bottles of water from the bar for our room. The hotel tried to charge guests to attend there own beach party, the food was repetitive and bland. We only stayed a week which was enough. For a cheap price it is a reasonable 4 * hotel but nothing special.

Had a FAB time, stayed in one of the bungalows which are all set nicely in the well landscaped gardens - lots of flowering hedges and paths winding between shrubs, trees, grasses and waterways with bridges making an interesting and fragrant walk to the beach. A jetty makes for easy access to the beautiful reef with lots of coral and wide variety of fish without needing to pick your way carefully across lethal stones/coral which can very easily make a real mess of your feet! Having two pools, one for activities and children and the other for more calm and relaxing days - both of which have swim up pool bars. The staff throughout the hotel were all very friendly and helpful, they like us Brits as we're much more polite and treat them more as equals than the Russians who seem to be devoid of manners - maybe it's just a cultural thing, just don't let it get to you when they don't understand the concept of queuing or waiting their turn - you're on holiday just chill and let it wash over you!! Try and learn a few words of Arabic, the normal Please, Thank you etc. etc. goes a long way - can recommend Ahmed at the quiet pool bar as a good teacher, I now know how to count 1-10 and various other words in Arabic! Can definitely recommend going to the Old Market in Sharm to experience a bit of local culture, but needless to say be prepared to be hassled a bit - they're just trying to earn a living but are far less agressive than some of their counterparts in other countries. We did the Bedouin desert trip/boat trip with 3 snorkelling stops and day trip to Luxor - all of which were well worth the money. Talking of which, don't let some of these reviews persuade you to take USD or £ as local currency is just as acceptable and in some cases necessary! The management of this hotel held a Cocktail reception for the Brits as they're trying to encourage more British tourists, our only very minor complaint (actually more of a suggestion) was that it would've been nice to be able to take breakfast and lunch outside as well as the few tables outside for dinner!

Room Tip: We were nice and convenient for the main building and near the pool, was only a bit noisy the night...
