I returned from one week at this hotel and have never wanted to get home so much at the end of a holiday.
When we arrived in the evening we were taken to our room which was basic but ok. The bathroom however was dirty with marks in the bath and sink. The beds in the room were rock hard and almost impossible to sleep on.
We went down to dinner and was extremely disappointed. The food was of a poor quality and mostly catered for Russians. The bread was rock hard and stale and over the week chicken and rice was served nearly every day just with a different sauce. The desserts looked fantastic but had no flavour whatsoever and tasted stale. Breakfast was no better with more stale bread and a toaster that didn't even work most of the time!
The juices were so sweet and artificial, if you wanted freshly squeezed orange you had to pay extra! The glasses provided were dirty most of the time. Sausages and other items were more catered for Russians, some of the pastries were so hard that they were inedible! We resorted to buying our own cereal from the supermarket and eating this for breakfast as we couldn't eat the food supplied. In the evenings we ended up paying to eat in the restaurants in Naama Bay as we couldn't face the buffet again.
During the day we spent a lot of time by the pool which was nice especially as the pool is heated. The hotel provide towels which you can swap for a fresh one after 10am when there is a towel man there. However the towels that were given to us didn't look like they had been washed and when watching the man with the towels he seemed to just fold up the used ones and hand them out again!
The entertainment team were nice and friendly, their dancing in the morning and afternoon was good fun to watch. However the rest of the staff at this hotel need some lessons in customer service. The men at the pool bar were constantly making rude comments and whistling / making noises whenever you walked nearby or went to get a drink. There was a nice friendly man at the bar near the main reception however his personal hygiene was not good and he smelt very strongly of body odour which put me off going to the bar.
The reception staff were not very friendly which I was surprised by, they were not helpful when we asked for advice on the area and when we had an issue with our room they helped us but only reluctantly.
There are 2 beaches that the hotel provide a bus to. Wind beach was very nice however when we arrived there in the morning we were told that we couldn't eat or drink anything that we had brought with us. I have never known anything like this is my life. I have been to hundreds of different beaches all over the world and you can eat / drink what you like! I think this rule is ridiculous.
The other beach was Hadaba beach which was beautiful but was spoilt by the 'guards' patrolling and watching our every move. They pestered us most of the day by leering and making comments. The sun loungers were old and in poor quality. Most of them were broken and could not be adjusted.
Overall the week was a nightmare, the weather was lovely but apart from that I would not return. I do not believe that this hotel is 4 star. Anyone from England that is planning to visit my tip is to pay a bit more and stay somewhere else!

We are dissapointed to hear that your stay was not as pleasant as it could have been.

However, thanks for your compliments on our pools and entertainment team.

We can assure you that all rooms are cleaned before guests arrive, and every day that you are there. You will find that all over Egypt the style of beds are a little harder than in the UK, you cannot actually buy the same types of mattresses here, it is simply a cultural thing. But in saying that, we often get comments that people noticed the beds were a little harder than usual but still slept very well on them so it was not a problem. They are most definitely not impossible to sleep on.

The food is buffet style, with a wide variety of choices. We even have themed culture nights. Because the majority of our guests are not from the UK that does factor into our food choices to some degree, we have to consider the majority. We would absolutely love more English guests to stay here, and that would allow us to make more changes to the menu too.

The room service menu is specifically designed to suit English tastes, especially for our English guests, because we really do enjoy having English guests here. There is a range of meals including many types of pizzas, burgers, steak, all sorts of things, and it is faster and cheaper than getting a meal in Naama Bay.

We have an onsite bakery, and all our bread and desserts are made fresh daily. If the bread seemed hard, perhaps it was just the style of bread, it certainly was from that day and not old. We do not have a lot of sliced bread, it is more roll and bun style, that may be what you mean.

The General Manager has been informed about the faulty toasted, and all of your other feedback and suggestions as well.

The glasses are cleaned after every meal, and we have a UK recognised Cristal Certificate in Food Hygeine and Handling.

The towels by the pool are definitely cleaned each time, they are not re used as you suggested. They are folded after use so that we can fit more into the washing bag, and to look after them better, that is all.

We are surprised to hear that the reception staff didn't seem friendly or helpful, they usually receieve a lot of compliments in the reviews. We are sorry that you did not feel treated as well as you should have been.

The beaches in Egypt are all government owned, the hotels, even the 5 star ones, rent a beach or part of a beach. Even the public beaches not affiliated with any hotel you have to pay to go on them. So they do have a differnet set of rules and style to beaches in many other countries. Sadly that is a problem you will encounter at any hotel, and is normal all over Egypt.

There is always some degree of culture shock, some more than others, when entering a new country. And Egypt can never be exactly the same as England, that is an unreal expectation. Yes, some things are different, but that is all part of the experience, and when trying new things, some you will enjoy some you won't. The majority of guests really enjoy their holidays here, and we get many many positive reviews from guests from the UK regularly.

To future guests: Please read a number of reviews before making any judgements on this hotel, thank you.

Have just returned from 10 days at this resort with my family.
The location is great close to Naama Bays restaurants and bars and the hotel buses are great for trips to the beach.
The hotel is very nice and the staff helpful, especially in the restaurant and pool. The rooms are spacious (block 9) and were kept clean. Pool was very nice and warm and had the chance of a quite one or one with music. Special thanks for on site pharmacist who was able to give my daughter antibiotics there and then for throat infection with no hassle, he was very helpful.
On the down side the restaurant food was a bit repetitive but the choice wasnt too bad and there was always pasta and rise, and no one ate in the a la carte when we were there. It did also get a bit frustrating drinking out of paper cups for the majority of your drinks. The drinks were also a bit limiting under the 'all inclusive choice'. Also you did get a bit of hassle from staff for massage and beauty treatments but bearable.
Have to say found the beds very hard.....
Naama Bay itself is very busy at night and you do get hassled quite a bit to go into bars and shops etc.
Would recommend Emperor Diving if you want to do any diving.

Room Tip: Rooms in block 9 seem on the bigger side than those near the main pool

Me and a friend have just returned yesterday from a one week holiday here. We loved it! I'm not sure why people complain about this hotel.
The staff are amazing, very welcoming and they really looked after us. The room was lovely, very clean.
We love all of the bar staff, they looked after us well, providing lots of lovely cocktails.
The animation team were also great especially Zena and Storm, great people.
The pool was good, heated so it wasn't too cold when you go in, we didn't go to the quiet pool but it looked nice.
The food was good, if you are fussy you probably won't like it, but I was willing to try different foods and enjoyed it. We had room service a couple of times which was great, caters more to the English customers.

We enjoyed it so much that we want to come back in September!

Thank you very much for your review,

We're glad you and your friend loved your holiday here.

Thanks for your compliments on our staff, rooms, cleanliness, bars, entertainment, pools and the room service menu.

We appreciate your comments on the room service menu, and you are right, it is specifically designed to cater for English tastes. We did this because the majority of our guests are not English, and therefore the main restaurant meals are sometimes different to what English guests are used to, but we still wanted to have what they really wanted available in the hotel. The room service menu is definitely worth trying if you you want a change or some variety from the restaurant food, as it is high quality, faster and cheaper than buying a meal in Naama Bay.

We look forward to seeing you both again in September, thanks.

Mother and daughter vacation 14/03/2013-28/03/2013 - just returned from 2 weeks vacation at the Sharm Resort. The holiday price was cheap so we weren't expecting too much for our money. The best part of this vacation is the guaranteed sunshine. The hotel is no more than a 3* - food very repetitive but the a la carte restaurants make up for the poor quality of food available in the buffet restaurant. Cups are chipped and broken, glasses sticky and generally yuck. Take your own glass and hand sanitizer. The staff are friendly if you tip them constantly otherwise they are damn right rude! General management is poor to say the least leaving all the problems to be solved by the Guest Relations team, who have a fantastic girl by the name of Sarah. She seems to place the customers and customer care high on her agenda, unlike management here. Our holiday was booked via Red Sea, most of the reps are not interested in the guests problems and do not want to be there. The English is poor and basic, geared fro Germans and Russians. But I do need to mention Sayeed (Red Sea Rep) a young gentleman showing genuine concern for his guests, trying to resolve problems without wasting too much of the guests vacations time. Please be warned if booking any excursions ensure you have English speaking reps as we were told one thing and then encountered German on all our excursions. A word of warning do not part with any money if they say they have no change.....You can say goodbye to your change as they do not return with it. Sun loungers are few and far between, most of poor quality of broken but certainly not enough for the guests. We spent the first day laying on our towels. We managed to get sun beds around the so called 'heated pool' which clearly isn't; The two guys at this pool are fantastic and go they extra mile to ensure guests have a fab time. Genuine guys! All inclusive really doesn't mean that. Juices are extra, cocktails are extra, some food on the a la carte menus are extra and snacks are only available certain times at only near the beach. This resort is huge and lacking bars/snacks near the spa pool and children's pool. Entertainment basic and poor, bars close quite early, as do pool areas. Beach towels are only changed if found in you room between 5-6.30 alternatively you have the same towel. We tried the spa for a massage...a word of warning this spa is like a bad porn movie with no privacy and guys and girls sharing same rooms (strangers along side of you). Dirty and basic yet management seem to thing it's funny when we complained. The spa is a franchise to the hotel which is representing the hotel at the end of the day. A word to the wise unless you want to feel cheap and degraded stay clear as your bits will be on show for all and sundry to see. On a positive the note the hotel has beautiful grounds with lovely views but not for the disabled as it is set on various levels with approx 100 steps throughout. Hotel requires good management and could easily improve their services and food for guests.

Room Tip: We were in block 9 (outside the childrens pool) great location for peace and quiet but the far end o...

Thank you for your review.

We are disappointed to hear that your stay was not as pleasant as it could have been.
Thank you for your compliments on our guest relations team (particularly Sarah), beautiful grounds, and lovely views.

The food is buffet style, with many many options available, and it is changed at each meal and every day. If it is not to your tastes, the room service menu is cheaper than eating in town, and caters specifically for English tastes, with a range of pizzas, burgers, and much more.

Your feedback about the glasses, and the Spa has been passed on to the General Manager, we value your suggestions. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our services and facilities, and we upgrade and add to things as often as we can.

Excursions are not booked through the hotel, that is not our responsiblity, nor do we have any control over what external companies do, but i'm sure tourists will appreciate your advice.

We actually do have a number of staff who speak good english, particularly the General Manager, who's English is very good, if you have any issues in communication feel free to ask to speak to him, and he will sort out any issues that you have quickly and professionally.

With regards to someone not returning your change, I am 100% sure that it was not an incident within the hotel, but on an excursion. I am confident that our staff are all trustworthy. If you would like, you can ask the reception staff to change big notes into smaller ones and change, so that you will have change for tips and smaller purchases, they are happy to do this for you.

There is a bar very close to both of the pools, and the bar staff also bring drinks over to you while you are still sitting in the pool. There are 3 other bars, 5 in total, spread out across the hotel, in convenient locations. You can also order drinks, and food from your room with room service.

The hotel is designed to cater for disabled guests, and meets all necessary requirements. There are ramps, disabled toilets, and a free shuttle bus to Naama bay and both the hotel beaches. There is no need to take the stairs if you are unable to, or simply don't want to, you can take the free shuttle bus, it goes regularly, this is not a problem.

TO FUTURE GUESTS: Please read a number of reviews before making any judgements on this hotel. We receive hundreds of positive reviews each year, the majority of our reviews are very positive, please do not let this one review concern you. If you stay here, you will not be disappointed, yes it is a different culture, and there are different expectations in different countries, but we earnt our 4 star rating, and we maintain it. We have a UK recognised Cristal certificate in food hygeine and handling. And we are conident in our staff. We hope you will consider staying here if you visit Sharm, thank you.

Thank you for your compliments on our staff, special birthday treatment, entertainment, free shuttle bus, location, room cleanliness and towel art.

We appreciate your feedback about the fruit, we usually do have more, our apologies for that. There was an error that week and we were unable to get more on time sadly. We have fruit out with every meal, breakfast lunch and dinner.

Just returned from a weeks stay here. The second time I've stayed here and still just as lovely.
The staff are very friendly and polite and can't do enough to help you where they can.
The food and restaurant is very good with different dishes and cuisines daily. The pasta and fish dishes stood out for me but the rest were also lovely.
The big pool with slides is more appropriate for kids and families as there is always activities on but the smaller quieter pool is ideal to relax and enjoy the sun. Harmony, the pool supervisor is great and good fun. He'll certainly keep you entertained and make you feel welcome.
Naama bay is a short 5 minute walk away. I was travelling with another female and felt safe and not at all uneasy about walking about at night. All I would say is stay together and if your not interested in going in a bar or shop just say no. Your soon left alone.
the hotel beaches are lovely. The smaller one at naama bay can get quite busy so get there early. My favourite was Habada which is at the bottom of winding cliff staircase. It is beautiful. Very clean and defo worth a visit. Ideal for snorkelling and seeing the sea life that surround sharm. Drinks and snacks are available at a small cost and again these are quite adequate and relatively cheap. The hotel offers shuttle buses to both beaches during the day, again these do get busy so get a seat early.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone Travelling to sharm.

We stayed at this hotel recently for 12 nights.A very clean hotel with a good selection of food. The waiters and chefs were very pleasant and helpful. The bedroom was very nice near the entertainment stage but after a few nights we asked to move because it was too noisy for us,No problems at all the staff at reception were most helpful and found us 2 rooms<there were 3 of us>near the quiet pool which we preferred. We were very close to town where we ate out a couple of nights.
We also had room service which was excellent for the price. We are looking forward to going again next year,We had gold bands as we have been there before, and we had a lovely cake delivered to our room as it was our wedding anniversary.
Lager was ok but certain spirits are a bit iffy!!
I certainly cant understand why people complain about it .We heard very few complaints whilst we were there.
We are experienced travellers ,having done the Caribbean and Far east so we are knowledgable.
The only problem we had was with the guy selling sand gifts in bottles. My wife said she would buy at the end of the holiday. Each time we went for a drink at the bar near his stall we were pestered eventually he was offensive and used unappropriate language to us.When i told him off he said he was only joking and when we walked past he was making faces behind our back.It did spil things and made us feel uncomfortable.
I have sent an email to hotel thanking them for a lovely stay, and did explain this mans behaviour but have not had a reply from them
The animation team were good but too repetitive after a week

Room Tip: the rooms by small pool are quieter
