“A brilliant place to stay”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

We have been to sharm many times but always stayed at the Crowne Plaza. Over the last couple of visits it went downhill so we decided to try somewhere else. The Ghazala beach looked ok so we thought we would give it a shot. Great choice. Hotel very clean, great location, private beach. very friendly & helpful staff. Good choice of eating out at 6 restaurants. While there it was Heathers birthday. She had a cake sent to our room with a letter wishing her a happy birthday & 25% off a meal in one of the restaurants. Our rep Sayeed was really friendly & helpful as was Jane from guest relations. On our 2nd week we went to Petra for the day but when we got back we had no power in our room. We were moved next door but air con was no good We mentioned it to our new rep Islam who mentioned it to reception. We were upgraded to a junior suite for the rest of our stay. How cool is that. All in all we think the hotel & all the staff were excellent

fantastic location, has its own beach right on red sea, two pools, rooms lovely, staff very friendly and helpful. everything is so clean, huge choice of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner and right off the main street - really couldn't fault this place would certainly go here again.
but trips very expensive with red sea holidays, there is many other excursion providers on main street - we went with Sharmboys (just at the end of the main street) they were brilliant and about £50 cheaper than anywhere else

We booked this holiday over the internet through red sea holidays and had the usual worries regarding an unknown operator, we needn't have worried though as from the moment we landed things were taken care of brilliantly.
Our rep Islam was very helpful, welcoming and informative and during our stay both he and Bianca (guest relations) couldn't do enough for us.
The Ghazala Beach Hotel is one of the oldest in Namma Bay but what it lacks in modernisation it more than makes up for in friendliness and customer care. The staff are so helpful and considerate, we got the feeling they actually try to remember you rather than just consider you as A.N.Other guest.
This is carried through right across the board, from management down to room cleaners.
The hotel is brilliantly situated right in the middle of Naama Bay and is only a short stroll to the shops and bars etc. We went on a b&b basis as we like to wander and do our own thing and found plenty of great places to dine at very reasonable prices, the hotel has a loyalty card scheme which gives up to 50% off at selected restaurants.
The pool and pool area was spotless and while we were there a metal structure gazebo was added to the bar area but this was done with no disturbance as most work done at night and in a quick manner.
We went on 2 excursions which we had researched prior to going but decided to book through our rep as that way you know you getting a properly arranged one. The Bedouin Nights and stargazing we would recommend to anybody as this was fantastic, if slightly uncomfortable on a camel that was in a grumpy mood.
As for the coral snorkeling (Ras Mohamed) only one word needed.....amazing!
The rooms may be considered basic by some people but we were very comfortable, beds are very comfy indeed, free safe and air conditioning, mini bar provided if you wish to use it, (we bought water locally as cheaper and froze it in mini bar), free beach towels are provided in a beach bag and changed every day, beach beds on the hotel beach are also free and the lifeguards are very helpful and will save you a bed right by the sea,
The beach bar is good value and can order food too, the only gripe we had was happy hour had no bell, so we put this forward as a suggestion so if you go and happy hour is rung in by the Jo and Pat bell please let us know, lol.
One place you must go is Soho Square, what a gorgeous place this is, clean, modern, no hassle, water fountain shows to music, outdoor acts on stage.
You need to barter for everything and we used half as a rule of thumb, and were quite happy to walk away and wait for the shout of ok yes take your price.
For something different for a laugh hire a segway in Naama Bay for an hour and whip round the area, very easy to ride and a laugh indeed.
We looked round at other hotels and we would put our hands on our hearts and say we would only return to the Ghazala Beach, it has character, is spotless, the staff are amazing and friendly, the location perfect and while other hotels are more modern they are working on it with no disturbance to visitors.
We can only thank all the staff at the Ghazala Beach Hotel and those at Red Sea Holidays for making our visit such a memorable and perfect experience.
Jo and Pat, (Blackpool)

Room Tip: Don't pre book a room with balcony as all rooms have one anyway!!

Great location, its great to be able to walk outside of the hotel and along to Naama bay. The private beach is great and the coral is brilliant for snorkelling or diving. Having the Sinai Diving school on site is also brilliant.
The food for breakfast was great and the Italian restaurant on site was also excellent - however I did not enjoy the asian food restaurant at all (you'd think being beside the sea the sushi would be fresh, but it was terrible) and the ghazala beach bar was not great either (although their cocktails were excellent). The restaurants on site are expensive, as you would expect - its worth going out for dinner if possible, and if you can bare to stand the constant hassle from the providers.
On the beach you are frequently bothered by reps from the salon (often making rude comments about your appearance in order to shame you into having a treatment) or by the water sports group (which is very expensive). I would not recommend the Grand Spa at all - the staff were abrasive, rude and out to scam you. However, the experience with the spa situated on the beach was much more pleasant and highly recommended.
I was also very disappointed with the gym - something that is very important to me when I am away. It only opens between 9am and 9pm and they charge you 5 euros per day. The gym is not staffed and the equipment is not overwhelming either.
The room was quiet and the bed very comfortable. There was ample space and plenty of english t.v to watch when i was struggling with sickness. The hotel was very clean and the bed was made every day.
I found the staff at reception quite rude and quite blase about their jobs.
However, overall the positives outweigh the negatives.

Room Tip: Always clarify the price of a service before you take it, or pay. Haggle for everything, including...

It was a pleasure staying at ghazala beach hotel. it was our first time in Egypt and all the staff at the hotel were very nice and treated us nicely. I would definitely go back and stay there. The location was ideal as we went to Naama bay every night. This hotel was quite multi cultural as we met people from different countries. The private beach was ideal and spent a lot of time there, also really good for snorkling. The receptionists were very respectful and humble. The rooms were clean with air con. however as we half board, we had breakfast and evening meals, which we did not enjoy, most of the food cooked was not nice and we were having to eat out, but i shared my concerns with the red sea reps, but the desserts were delicious. Overall a good hotel with good service. all staff are friendly and there to help!!

Recently returned from a two week diving trip and again stayed at the Ghazala Beach. As usual I found the staff to be extremely friendly, helpful and keen to ensure everything possible is done to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. This is probably one of the older hotels in Naama Bay but it's prime location, excellent spacious grounds and large private beach makes it a popular place to stay. It is also worth noting that as a lot of U.K flights have later departure times the Ghazala beach does not impose a late room fee unlike a lot of the others and this can save you approx 50 Euros. I only stayed bed and breakfast, preferring to vary the restaurants I use at night and agree with other reviewers that while the breakfast food is of a high standard the area could be greatly improved - it's a bit more like a warehouse than a restaurant. A definite point in it's favour is the hotel actively uses Guest Relation managers who are regularly around to ensure any issues you may have are quickly resolved - Just see Bianca or Jayne.

Just returned from our 1st visit to this hotel. The location is very good for access to the main shopping/restaurants in Naama bay. We found the hotel and grounds to be generally good, however the hotel is beginning to show its age. On a positive note, there is currently work being done to modernise the rooms. During our stay they erected a new covered seating area, and installed new tables and chairs around the pool bar. The gardens are very well kept and the gardeners are always busy doing work throughout the day. We ate at all the hotel restaurants and had excellent meals and service at all of them. The discount card was useful during our visit. We found Bianca and Jane to be very helpful with a few inquiries we had during our visit. Overall a very enjoyable holiday and looking forward to returning next year.

Room Tip: We had room 307 in the main hotel block. A good location and nice and quiet.
