Ghazala Beach Hotel
Ranked #98 of 231 Hotels in Sharm El Sheikh
Reviewed April 3, 2012

Just got back with my husband from a lovely week in Sharm and staying at Ghazala Beach was perfect for us! Only 5 min walk to the beach with wonderful waters and extremely helpful beach boys that made sure we got sunbeds and even carried them for us to a good spot, very nice service. Friendly and forever smiling staff at the hotel, clean room, clean gardens and the beach was immaculately looked after. We were on B&B and the breakfast was to our taste with for example eggs & omeletts made to your choice by a very friendly and smiling "chef". On arrival day we took a massage at the hotel spa, the Cleopatra program wich also includes body peeling, this was a great start so we can strongly recommend that. Ask for Magda and Eslam they did a very good job massaging us! We also used the gym a couple of times and it was OK, maybe the equipment was meant for men mostly but I got good workouts anyway. During our week there were not many familys with children staying at the hotel and that suited us as this trip was more of a romantic trip as a couple for us.The hotel is perfectly located near to the center Naama Bay with all the shops and restaurants, just stroll out from the hotel and you´re there. Just to mention a couple of nice restaurants that we visited and enjoyed the most: the hotels own restaurants Tam Tam and Kokai and in Naama Bay center: Fairuz(egyptian/lebanese), Fawaneese(egyptian/lebanese) and Ziglionis(Italian). We also spent time on late evenings sitting at Fairuz Cafe on "the main street" sipping drinks and smoking shisha (waterpipe) watching people strolling by. Overall we are very pleased with our vacation and we hope to revisit again and coming back to Ghazala Beach hotel is very likely! We also met serviceminded Mandy -the guest relations manager who kindly helped us to book our massages when we requested so by e-mail before we left for Egypt. A small heads-up: be careful in the sun on the beach if your skin is sensitive, the sun is very strong and sometimes the strong breeze from the sea makes you feel "cool" but you´re not! Use sunblock with higher protection that you would really prefer, then you´ll be fine! Finally going to Egypt as a couple is fine, I wouldn´t recommend going there by yourself as a woman, the egyptian men are extremely pushy and it seems that they have never seen women before(which of course they have but...) well for me it was nice to have my husband as my bodyguard. To sum up: we would like to recommend this hotel to all and we hope and plan to revisit soon again :)

Recently returned from the Ghazala Beach Hotel our first time visit to Egypt. Booked with Red Sea Holidays and the whole process etc was good. The hotel is located approx 5 mins walk from the centre of Naama Bay. Lots of supermarkets nearby for water, snacks etc. Our choice was B&B allowing us the option to try the culinary delights within the variety of local restaurants. We stayed in the hotel on the second floor with balcony. Our room, although slightly dated, was adequate for what we needed. The cleanliness of the room was exceptional and we found no faults. There are small bungalows available around the main pool however these are slightly smaller than the hotel rooms however have a small garden area outside. All the areas of the hotel were kept immaculately clean and the gardens were beautifully maintained. There is also a good size adult only pool (Relax pool) which is situated at the front of the building by the entrance area. This is nice if you want to chill out. Staff from the nearby Grand Spa walk around and try to sell you massage and beauty treatments. I negotiated a good price for a 50 minute Shaitsu Massage. £25 with a free face mask beauty treatment. Don't expect the spa facilities to be like that of England. No relaxing music and comfortable room. The rooms and facilities were extremely basic however the massage was very good although a bit rushed.
The hotel restaurant was the usual buffet style however there was plenty to choose from. Staff service was fantastic and they could not do enough for you. The restaurants linked to the hotel were very good and reasonably priced however we enjoyed the chinese the most. The Ghazala Beach Bar is a great place to go for a slightly cheaper meal (try the fajita's) and happy hour is between 6.30 and 9pm. They have a guy called Zaki who sings most nights (He sounds a bit like an Egyptian Barry White) but its good to have sing a long. The private beach was good and the staff yet again were very helpful and we soon got to know the lifeguards and staff. The sun beds are situated under fixed umbrellas and there is no charge. Great place for snorkeling and diving.
All the staff were friendly, approachable and extremely willing to do their best to make your stay enjoyable. Very often going the extra mile! Mandy the Customer Relations Representative was very professional and regularly approached us personally to ensure that everything was going ok for us. Mandy, genuinely showed interest in really wanting to know how your holiday was going and acted upon reasonable requests in a prompt and efficient manner. I needed our room sprayed due to the mosquito's feasting on me and Mandy arranged it to be done promptly. Very friendly and approachable young lady and a pleasure to have met her! Overall exceptional service from all staff at the hotel! They have definitely got their customer service right........

We went on a few trips which we booked through the hotel rep however there are, just outside the hotel, several other agencies running the same trips at a cheaper rate. The Sharm Secrets tour was pretty good taking in a glass bottom boat to see the corals fish etc then to a mosque, cathedral, shopping at the old market and a place called Fantasia which was pretty amazing. Its like a themed place where the new meets the old of Egypt. They have shows and entertainment but I do not know the cost. We also went on a Beduion NIght which included a Camel Ride, Trek up a mountain to see the sunset, cooking flatbread, BBQ, and stargazing. This is a good trip if you wish to learn more about the Bedioun culture and the way they live. We also went to Dolphina to swim with the dolphins. Our experience (and those who ended up in our group) was unfortunately not that good! For the price we paid £155 we were told that we would have 15 mins each swimming with the dolphins. This really does not happen. We were in a group of 6 and each of us actually spent approx 5 mins max actively engaged with the dolphins. You might be in the water for 15 mins waiting your turn but no way are you actively swimming with dolphins for 15 mins. In our opinion it is a bit of a rip off and money making venture. The activities that you actually do with the dolphins is stroke them, then a quick dance, then you swim alone to other side of the pool the dolphin comes over you swim back holding onto them, then you have your photo taken kissing the dolphin then you get out. Once dressed they show a video that you can purchase for an extortionate 270LE and photos at again, depending what you choose, a high cost. Also be aware that if you are offered a drink they charge you double the price of anywhere else in Sharm :O( From our personal experience I would not recommend this place...and we did wonder, given the small pool and the dolphins enclosure whether this is predominately just a money making exercise.

Despite, the Dolphin experience which had nothing to do with the Hotel we would really recommend this hotel and hope to go back in the near future.....:O)

Room Tip: We stayed on the 2ndfloor hotel room with balcony (Rm 323) this is slightly more dated than rooms on...

Dear guest,

We are happy to read that you did enjoy your first visit to Egypt and would like to thank you for sharing your positive feedback on your recent stay at Ghazala Beach and also for going so much into detail describing our hotel facilities, rooms & your experience with regards to the Grand Spa which is situated in our hotel. Definitely the Chinese & Japanese restaurant “Kokai” is one of the favorite restaurants of many our guest among the variety of a la carte restaurant the hotel has to offer. Our Beach Bar is a popular place for a drink in the evening with live music but also for a good sea food meal or BBQ.
It’s our absolute pleasure to know that our team members have succeeded to exceed your expectations in regards to the service delivered by every single one.
Thank you for your feedback on your trip experiences, and that you enjoyed the Sharm secrets tour and Fantasia, and your trip to our Bedouin night, that you enjoyed some of the wonderful Egyptian culture.
We are sorry to hear about your experience at the dolphin show, and it didn’t meet your expectations. Following on from this, we have been in close contact with our representative at Red Sea Holidays to improve this in future.
Once again we thank you so much for your comments on this website and we are looking forward to see you soon in the near future.
Kind regards
The Ghazala Beach Management Team.

Just back from one of the best holidays I have had in Sharm, this hotel is outstanding with the best staff, absolutely everyone was welcoming and helpful, the hotel may be a little dated in the rooms but for the length of time we were in there it was no hardship. We met the best Guest Relations Manager - Mrs Mandy who was professional, friendly and an absolute angel. From Hassan the forever smiling gardener to Abdullah Salam our lovely room cleaner who did a great job to Mahmoud the restaurant manger who made sure the kitchen supplied me with yeast free bread absolutely outstanding chap.
I could not fault this hotel at all, the beach was sandy with plenty of beds which the beach boys would find you sun or shade at your request then set up the towels for you, there are two cluster of coral which are cordoned off to swim around where my favourite little fish piccasso was swimming! We met a lovely couple Jill and Mike (hi guys). I cannot recommend this hotel enough and it was lovely walking along the coast to work up an appetite for dinner. little things like having a beach bag for the towels and getting them changed each evening from your room was great, the grounds and hotel were kept clean and tidy and I loved the smell of the handwash in the hotel toilets. We booked through red sea holidays and they allow you to stay in the room until you were ready to leave without charging extra, nice one red sea, the reps Adam and Fadi were very helpful. Shatz supermarket just passed the chinese was excellent value.
This next bit has nothing to do with Ghazala Beach.

The only let down was the flight with Thompsons which was cancelled for many reasons starting with the radar was broke, the pilots were on strike, the crew had exceeded their time in the air. It took over 8 hours to get out of the airport to then return the next day an absolute disgrace!

Room Tip: The bungalows are small but the double rooms are fine, would like to try a suite next time!

I returned to the Ghazala Beach Hotel for the 11th time in about 7years. Why do we go back? well a number of reasons. The location is great, right on the beach and a short walk to the shops and bars, the service is excellent everyone has a smile and a hello for you, it is the friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in and the atmosphere is ideal. The beach bar and restaurant is the place to go in the evenings where you can watch sport, and have a drink and a meal, hard to beat. They have numerous restaurants within the hotel all with great service and food, I am looking forward to my next visit I hope it will be soon. Special thanks to the General manager and his Guest relations team.
