The best part about the hotel experience was the service. The staff could not do enough for you and always with a smile. Having experienced another hotel in the same area due to flight delay our hotel was head and shoulders above it, mostly due to the staff. They are a credit to the management of Baron Palms.
The room was very confortable with nice touches such as the dressing gown, slippers and very welcome tea and coffee making facilities.
The location was good, our intention was to relax and unwind which is certainly what we did.
There was an excellent choice of food and the two a la carte restaurants were of a very good standard.
The weather was great and the heated pool was a pleasant suprise and made swimming each day very enjoyable.

We were there the week before xmas week and the hotel was relatively quiet. No shortage of space around the pool (one of which is heated...take note!! the unheated pool was hardly used so in the cooler months make sure your hotel has this feature). Even prime spots could be had relatively late in the morning. We had a room overlooking the pool at no extra charge, but if you do get a 'garden' view, then beyond the 10m in front of the hotel you are looking at wasteland. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the food was of a very good standard (allowing for the fact it is after all a help yourself buffet.) We only tried the Egyptian restaurant which is inclusive but bookable, but we understood from others that the poolside resto was also good. Access to private beach and a floating pier out over the reef allows snorkelling right outside the hotel and of a high standard(almost not worth going on the offered day trips). Go here!

This is a an all inclusive hotel, something that we generally dont do. I have to say that I was more than pleasantly surprised. The hotel is approx 10 minutes from the airport so the transfer is painless. After the initial wait at reception (the let down of this lovely hotel) we really have to say that the first impression was one of comfort and the hotel is spotlessly clean everywhere with lots of smiling faces. They are cleaning until all hours and you would not see a creepy crawly or a spot of rubbish anywhere on this property. The first few days we were bitten quite badly along with everybody else it would have seemed. Not sure if these were midges outside as there weren't any visible to the naked eye.
The staff in the restaurants were first class, there is nothing that they wont do for you, we had our regular table, they are very polite and so helpful. The food was excellent, lots of choice, teas, coffees, juices, the alcoholic drinks are all local stuff but you can buy the branded, quite expensive though, we found the wines (red, white and rose) to be quite acceptable and of course you can buy your favourite bottle if you chose, but would have to pay obviously.
The only money we spent was on tips because they so deserve it, the pool attendents are very oblliging, we gave one of the chaps £5 (they like English money - but not coins) our towels were on our beds for the full 11 days we were there first thing in the morning.
Afternoon tea with cakes and rolls at 16:00 everyday, very English.
The Baron Palms and the Baron Resort are two seperate hotels, joined by a Boulevard with shops and pleasant evening strolls along the beach front. The hotel also has an Egyptian restaurant which is included in the all inclusive, there is a "Now & Zen" bar which has music till late, the bar is a pay bar. You can play table tennis for free, there is an auditorium for shows in the evening and for children's disco and evening entertainment, there is a kids club by the heated children's pool. A lovely free form heated and unheated pool for the adults.
We had a standard room which looked over the front of the hotel, a road view with a balcony, which was OK for us. Clean bathroom with shower the rooms are cleaned to a high standard and sheets changed everyday.
The beach area is spotless, the beds are all very comfortable with mattresses, the water is crystal clear and the fish are amazing.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody, the temperature was 75-80 everyday.
We took a trip into Naama Bay - wish we hadn't - unless you are a dive enthusiast, as there are lots of dive centers, it was scruffy! You have to buy a VISA if you want to leave Sharm, Cairo is about 6/7 hours away on a coach, but obviously you can fly, there are a few good tours to do, glass bottom boats, submarine trips to see the marine life. We just soaked up the sun and relaxed and read books. Exactly what the doctor ordered especially as the UK was snow bound.
The one down side was the Monarch flights, cramped, uncomfortable and delayed!!!!!

My wife and I and 2 other couples visited the Baron Palms for 7 days from 11th January 2010 till 18th January 2010.
We flew from Newcastle Airport with Thomsonfly Airways the flight was on time and no problems.
The transfer from the airport to the Baron Palms was about 15 minutes. The check in to the Hotel was very good. Prior to our holiday I emailed the hotel requesting 3 adjoining rooms with a pool view. To our delight when shown to our rooms we had a wonderful view of the pools. Our rooms were on the Cleopatra Wing on the second floor room Nos 245,247,249. The rooms are spotless. You are provided with bathrobes and slippers for the duration of your stay. The rooms are cleaned every day and you are provided with clean towels every day should you require them. Tea and coffee making facilities were
In our room free of charge. There was a mini bar but it was not free. We got a bottle of water each day in our room and you could also get bottles of water from the Restaurant if you needed more.
Breakfast was served in the Tiran Restaurant plenty of choice of food for everyone We also ate in the Tiran Restaurant for lunch too.
In the evening we ate in the Paradise restaurant once and we ate in the Egyptian Restaurant 2 times you have to book these and are free. The waiters in the Tiran are all so friendly especially Mansour who we found particularly good.
On our first evening at the Tiran Restaurant my friend was wearing dress shorts and there was no problem but later on in the week he wore them again and was asked to go and change into long trousers it does say men must have long trousers on in the evening but I think it depends which member of staff is on duty at the door.
Most nights after our meal we sat on the Terrace for drinks once again the waiters here were all very good as soon as you’re drink was finished they would bring you another drink without even asking.
During our stay there the weather was very good about 26C during the day.
On the Sunday evening the day before our departure there was a storm it started about 8PM and the Lightning was very spectacular. The rain caused some slight damage in the Hotel but nothing too serious some rooms leaked water and all the pathways were flooded because there was no drains for the water to go but the staff all mucked in and made a wonderful job of cleaning up.
During the storms the phone lines and mobile phones and internet connections were lost for several hours. We were travelling back home on Monday and our coach to take us to the airport was due to collect us at 3pm but because of the storms there was delays at the Airport and it did not arrive till 8pm but this was not too much of a delay considering the problems they had with the weather and communications.
Very enjoyable 7 days and would recommend this hotel to everyone.
