“Fantastic Elegant Hotel”
Reviewed February 10, 2012

Returned 10 days ago from our 4th visit to this hotel and were delighted to see that it was still delivering a quality product.

Presumably owing to the economy and recent political difficulties, it would seem that Egypt's tourism has suffered since everywhere seemed a lot quieter than usual. This has obviously reflected on the number of staff at the hotel, so that on a couple of occasions the staffing in the restaurant was not as efficient as we have known in the past. That aside, the staff were working very hard to make everthing a good experience for us.

The food was excellent and if you don't find something which you like, I think you must be very difficult to please since the range of foods is amazing, well cooked and imaginative. (I was very surprised to read mandyegg2k's review since it was totally opposite to our own experience - were they at the same hotel?)

The local drinks are perfectly acceptable and we noticed that the red wine has improved immensely from previous years.

The rooms are spacious and clean with top quality Egyptian bed linen and towels. We had a room overlooking the road and beyond, which, whilst not being as interesting as the pool, was very peaceful and enabled us to get the last of the afternoon's sun.

We booked a trip on the glass-bottom boat through Bobo's Watersports (who can be found on the beach). They were courteous, professional and a lot cheaper than going via Thomas Cook. Would definitely recommend this if you don't fancy snorkelling or diving.

All in all a fantastic break from the British winter. Will definitely be booking for next January.

Room Tip: Pool-view rooms get the morning sun (which can be very hot) and can sometimes be a bit noisy. Rooms...

Dont know what this woman is talking about though I think I know who she is.
I for one was more than happy with everything at this hotel and is the third consective year I have been there.
I would reccommend this hotel to anyone wishing a quite, relaxing winter break.
Good friendly management and staff.
Good food which doesn't need a name to enjoy it.
A pitty the sun has to travel across the sky and not shine on her all day.
I will be booking again for next year and I know all will be fine.

Just returned from a great holiday at Baron Palms. Cannot praise this spotless friendly hotel enough. We have travelled to may places in the world and have never met such polite and nice people anywhere else. This applies to the management, customer relations, Lauren and Alex etc, waiters,,beach people, house keepers etc. We were even given a soft mattress topper which was offered we did not expect such a gesture. Cannot wait for a return visit.

If you like cold food, salty soup, nameless offerings and poor service then this is the hotel for you. I have to disagree with previous reviews as this was our experience. The only decent food is in the Egyptian Restaurant by prior booking. The a la carte at the pool bar wasn't an option in January for us as it's pretty cold at night and there were no Patio Heaters to keep you warm. I heard the food was good there at night but went cold quickly. Be warned on Seafood Night as nobody will tell you the procedure. The fish on offer you choose and give them your table number, it's cooked out back and brought to you. The only food cooked in front of you is prawns and they offer you TWO only or as in my experience a man was offered FOUR. As I didn't like anything else in the buffet I was disgusted to say the least. There is also a shortage of staff so drinks are not free flowing in the buffet. One whole side of the buffet is Sushi again unnamed. There are small plates of salad mostly making the buffet look as though there is a huge choice when there isn't. And if you like bread and butter pudding for dessert hard lines as it's served for breakfast!! Again the desserts are unnamed and small pieces of nothingness on a ceramic spoon.
The room was fine but if you don't upgrade to a pool view you overlook the road and the Sensatori next door entertains you until at least 1.00am with its loud music. Thank you for spoiling our sleep. Why didn't Baron hotels tell them to put the entertainment room at the other end of the hotel which doesn't adjoin anything.
Beware if you sit in the lounge and attempt to get a drink at the bar and bring it back to your table. The waiter will challenge and intimidate you. It made us feel terrible, surely what does it matter.
If you get your towel from the beach on your first day on your last day it has to be returned there not at the pool!!!
If you want to be sprayed with rose water and your glasses cleaned and fruit to be offered on sticks, then you'll have to put up with poor food as it looks like they are putting their energy into the wrong things.
Entertainment is poor and too cold to sit outside to watch it.
It's lovely to have a dish of crisps and nuts with your drinks especially as it might be all you eat that night but beware as half eaten returned bowls are just topped up for the next guests. Surely this could help spread bugs. Also there isn't a hint of handgel anywhere, must be the latest cut back.
Our experience in this hotel has put us off Egypt. Food should be a highlight of the holiday and not a nightmare every night. Last year we went to the Dreams Vacation a 4 star with patio heaters and hot and tasty food that was named. Couldn't go there this time as that was a monday flight. Instead we went up a star and live to regret it. I certainly won't be returning here if I do return to Egypt it will be to the Dreams Vacation a far superior hotel in all ways.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms quiter but get sun on morning not afternoon

Expectations were exceeded in every way. The hotel is a beautiful moorish design and the elegant and nicely warm pool is surrounded with stunning palms trees.

The beach is immaculately groomed with beautiful sand and a fabulous view of the nearby Tiran island.

The hotel is immaculately clean. The staff are keen to please. Drinks are served to you with style in the bar areas and around the pool.

The restaurants are all of a good standard though trying to please all nationalities and everyones preferences is always tricky. We ate all salads, fruit, fresh foods and ices without any problem at all - we felt very confident that the food hygiene was safe.

The staff were brilliant and lots of little touches like:- rose water misting by the pool, chilled, scented hand and face wipes by the pool, a friendly activities team, shuttle to naama bay, managers cocktail party, management team and hotel representatives very visible and always keen to ensure guest satisfaction.

The local area around the hotel is not beautiful - lots of half built projects but as the hotel and beach has everything you need there is no need for a great locality. If you want some more excitement take the shuttle to Naama Bay for the evening.

just come home from a week stay at the baron palms 30/1/12 to the 6/2/12 it was just perfect! me and my boyfriend had been looking forward to our winter sun break for a long time and it defiantly lived up to our expectations and more.
the staff are so lovely and friendly they cant do enough for you and a huge thank you to the guys at the now and zen bar ALLA and AMED for making our holiday extra special. they became good friends of ours.

food was lovely hotel room was great very clean and tidy, you always seen staff cleaning the hotel not a speck of dust anywere!
wish we had stayed for 2 weeks 1 was not enough!

beach was beautiful, you dont have to leave your sun bed to get a drink and thank you to Hassan for making us a special Hassan cocktail, however the strip of shops you have to walk down to get to the beach was very annoying..... it was not as bad as nama bay but the men offer you a free gift and take you into there shop shut the door and try and make you buy things and one man got angry when we said we did not want to buy anything. it became a nuisance as we went to the beach everyday. we did go into ali bal bas shop of magical perfumes, he was a lovely man we had peppermint tea with him and had a good chat to him and he gave us some good tips about egypt.

we would never usually go the same hotel twice but we would deff go back to the baron palms again but for lolnger next time. could not fault the hotel or the staff thank you everyone for making our holiday so special X
