“Great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2011

this was my 4th time in Egypt and this hotel was pretty good. The food not as much choice as i have had at other hotels but it was good always hot,you could always find something. Fresh pasta cooked to order every night.Drinks where ok beer served in small glasses and as with other hotels it is mostly served from bottles that are left out on the bar so not chilled, not great when its 35 degrees. Two pools both about the same size 1 ment to be heated tho not on when i was there.Rooms where pretty big and beds comfy although a bit strange that they had duvet on and no sheets so you either froz without them or melted with them unless you left the a/c on all night which was pretty noisey.Entertaiment was rank, but all a/i hotels are, only stayed in hotel 1 night the whole week and believe me that was more than enough, thats where this hotels best asset comes into effect.Walk down some steep dodgey steps and you are right in the heart of Naama Bay with all its bars/resturants.which inlude tgi fridays pizzahut kfc and the hard rock so if your craving some home foods there plenty there.Beware if you have ever been to a place called Chilis its an American brand which i have been into a few times in the states, there is 1 in Naama it is part of the chain but it doesnt sell booze which you only find out when you have ordered.Tgi fridays is good for a drink as its out on a balconey so u can sit and watch the mayhem below.Hrd rock is its usual, great nachos and burgers and such great value compared to Europe.A good bar is the Tavern, its straight across the street and up the lane abit from the bottom of the steps. If yiy like the football they show all the games, its about 2.50 for a large bottle of beer. The beers is either Sakara or Stella not the European 1 come in 500ml bottles, its pretty good.Only trip i did was to the aqua park at the aqua blu hotel lots of slides to keep all the family happy,it was pretty pricey at £35 but that was for the all inclusive version.IF you want more trips there are loads of places selling them in resort or hotel. When i go back to Sharm i would stay here again mainly for its location.

Room Tip: its all low rise only 2 floors and from wot i could see all the rooms looked the same.

Thank you for you review.

We apologise that your stay was not as pleasant as it could have been. We're glad you enjoyed the fresh pasta, big rooms and comfy beds. Egyptians do not often sleep with a top sheet, but we will take your suggestions into consideration. Thank you for sharing information about places to go in Naama bay, i'm sure future guests will appreciate that. Also, we have been making improvements to the hotel since your stay, including the stairs (but if you prefer to use the shuttle bus to Naama bay that is also an option), the menu and the entertainment. The pool is kept at an optimal temperature at all times. We are glad to hear that you would return to Sharm Cliff, you are welcome to stay again and see the improvements we have made since your last trip, thanks.

Thank you for your review.

We apologise that your stay was not as pleasant as it could have been. It's good to hear that the staff helped to make your wedding anniversary more memorable with a cake, and the room, congratulations on 40 years of marriage. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by building work at the time of your stay, all work in and around the hotel is now complete. Also, we have made a number of changes to our menu since your stay. The stairs down to Naama Bay now have lights on them as well. Sickness is not common in our hotel, but when people do get stomach upsets, its more often due to the heat and sudden temperature change than the food. When guests, particularly from colder climates, come to Sharm their bodies sometimes find it hard to adjust to the heat. My advice is try to stay in the shade wherever possible and drink lots of water, and this should conteract the heat. Thank you again for your feedback, this helps us to improve our services and facilities.

Wow what a holiday! My first time to Egypt and I honestly underestimated how helpful, polite and genuinely lovely the Egyptians could be! Yes the guys are quite sleazy and there's always someone trying to get you to buy something but a firm "no thanks" or Sebni Fihali (probably spelt wrong but that's how it sounds... means no thank you) will always get a polite reaction from 95% of them.

The Hotel staff were wonderful, couldn't do enough to help. Especially the two Hassan's (Shisha tent worker and the masseuse) their languages were very fluent and even understood the British sense of humour which a lot of other nationalities struggle with. The only issue we had was with getting drinks... The bar tenders made it very difficult to get them, you were only allowed one drink per person at a time and they only served drinks in small glasses (not even half a pint) so throughout the night we were constantly up and down to the bar. The vodka there was not great and made myself and the other couples we made friends with out there feel very sick, especially in the mornings no matter how little we had.

The pools were very clean and there was always plenty of sunbeds (in high season i recommend doing as we did, tip the towel man and ask him to save your beds for you and he'll put your towels out and a table). The rooms were very clean, nothing fancy but the cleaners love to put towel art on the beds which always made us laugh, they too were very friendly.

The food in the hotel was edible, not much selection for children and rather repetitive. As they don't eat pork over there due to their religious beliefs beef and chicken was served for every meal. The pasta chef was brilliant though, serving fresh pasta to how you like it every day. The desert selection was wonderful!!! I must say that definitely made up for the repetitive mains.

Its in the perfect location, a 5 minute free shuttle ride to the heart of Naama Bay or a 2 minute walk down some rather dangerous stairs (looks like they just roughly carved them out the side of the mountain). Its far enough to not hear all the hustle and bustle of the town but close enough to get there quickly. Being on a cliff you also get a breeze which makes sunbathing bearable, down at Hadaba beach there wasn't any wind so we had to come back an hour later.

Overall, a good hotel! We are hoping to return early next year!

Thank you for your review, and the photos which you posted.

We are pleased to let you know that the stairs to Naama bay are not completed, and meet all safety standards, also, as you said there is a shuttle bus available if people prefer that to the stairs. We have been making improvements to the menu since your stay, thank you for your compliments on the pasta and desserts. Also, thank you for your positive feedback about the pools, towels on the beds, and the friendly helpful attitude of our staff. With regards to shop keepers, 'Sebni fihali' actually means 'leave me alone', if you want to say no thank you, the words in Arabic are 'la shukran'. It's good to hear that you plan to return to the hotel, we hope to see you again next time you are in Sharm, thanks.

Just returned from our second 2 week trip to this hotel, we were met at the airport by our resort chap and whisked through security in a flash, we didn't queue with the others arrival's, collected our bags and off to our hotel, Amazing we felt like VIP'S. We had a lovely ground floor room, rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels. The pool towel guy's were great, alway's greet you with a smile and lay the towels out for you,We are early risers so we got the beds we wanted all the time we were there. but there are plenty to go round and they are not close together like in some 5 * hotels.( not good) Food has improved a bit since last year but we ate out a couple of times as do most holiday makers, had a lovely chinese in the naama bay town. Drinks still served in half pint glasses or cups, but we ask for 4 of what ever and have 2 each . The entertainment hasn't improved, different animation team but still the same routine. All in all we had a super time, the staff are friendly and always willing to help. This is a super place for a cheap holiday.

Just returned from Sharm Cliff this morning, and had a fantastic week. Animation team were fabulous, Maria, George, Denis, Mezo and Bioo always made us feel at home :) Can recommend Hassen or Adam in the perfume shop inside the hotel. Food was great and plenty of choice for everyone. We were told alcohol wasn't quite up to scratch this year, which we agreed but you're allowed to take your own anyway. But we didnt need alcohol to have a good time as everyone was so kind! All staff from the barmen to the housekeeping were always helpful and friendly. Sasha from customer relations was lovely and friendly too. We would have stayed longer only we have two young children :) Cant wait to return and would recommend this hotel to everyone!!! Weather is amazing, naama bay is beautiful and lots of excursions if wanted !! All in all id rate this the best holiday everrr <3 !!!!

Just back after 2 weeks at Sharm Cliff. Rooms were clean, food was average but not a problem as there was always something, (would like to see proper heinz type beans at breakfast), entertainment was amateurish at best but so bad it was funny and we all had a great time. Sufficiently quiet location but really close to the Town, steps a bit steep but my wife coped ok, just take it easy and all will be fine. Mega hassle from the shop front lads but take the time to learn a bit of Arabic, please = min fadlak, no thankyou = la shukran, no money = mafeesh filoos and they will react well. Met some lovely people and had a good laugh and some good crack. We found ALL the staff very helpful and friendly, just remember they are on crap wages averaging £55 english a month so be generous. I am definitely going back either to this hotel or its sister hotel, just waiting for the Mrs to give the okay. Muhammed a much maligned but mis-understood Barman, I found him very friendly.

Good hotel, friendly and helpful staff all over resort. Rooms cleaned daily - nice towel arrangements on bed every other day - small tip required. Rooms spacious, clean everything you need, Towel guys puts out your towels in which ever spot you like each morning, there are 2 pools,1 nearer the rooms which is heated and 1 which is half shallow for kids which isnt. The kids pool is very refreshing for cooling down after sunbathing. Drinks for all inclusive start at pool bar at 10am although breakfast starts at 7am - 10am so no problem for drinks there. Food is similar every evening but there is choice - also some nights they have barbecue food from the cheif outside. Never had a problem finding somthing we both liked. Hotel has security so it felt very safe, Steps down to Namma Bay are much better than before. You walk from the hotel reception to the right, along a short path and get to the steps, bit steep but ok. There is a seat halfway down which is needed when climbing up as they are steep. The hotel are building their own steps down to the bay which will be directly across from the hotel entance, they are not fnished yet but you can still use them, They are more of ramps than steps which may help some people. At they bottom of the steps head right and you will be in the start of Namma bay - all resturants, bars and shops. You will get hassled but just say no and keep walking and you will be fine. Camel bar is very good, nice views over the bay. Trips organised by reps very good, transfer on time I definatly recommend Ras Mohammad snorkling trip and camel and stars tour both brilliant. Also Cairo by air is an amazing experience - dont bother with the brekfast box from the hotel as everything is hard - not worth eating .Only thing the hotel could change would be letting you keep your wrist bands after check out (check out is 12pm) as pool bar wont serve you drinks but the lobby bar will. Overall very good, think I would try a different hotel if I return as I never return to the same one twice.
