first trip to Egypt, and first holiday for a couple of years, so when i booked it, and then a week later it all kicked off over there, i thought great.. But any worries or doubts about safety were quickly squashed as soon as we arrived. Extra security and stringent checks at the airport, soon put your mind at rest, and as soon as we arrived at our hotel, we were made to feel extremely welcome and safe.
We pulled up to the hotel, and we were the only ones that got off our coach, but as soon as we entered the lobby, i felt that we were the lucky ones.
We were given our key, and then the porter took us and our bags to the room, and showed us how everything worked etc, and left us to enjoy our holiday.
The room was spacious and clean, and suited our needs perfectly. Yes they could do with updating, but they are totally fine and cleaned on a daily basis, with towel changes, inc complementary beach towels changed every day as well.
The grounds are fantastic and very well maintained, pools seem to blend into each other, like a giant lagoon, with islands and bridges crossing over it. Loads of sunloungers and 4 poster sun beds, and even a man-made beach.
On the complex, there are various restaurants and bars, we tried them all, and the food is of a very good standard in all of them, especially Ofogo's, so make sure you book the restaurants, one day in advance to get a place.
Bar men and restaurant staff are all friendly, and will keep your drink or plate topped up if you wish. nothing seems too much trouble, and the chefs will knock you something up if you cant see what you like, or if it has ran out they will get it. best thing is that most of the food is fresh and cooked to order. Please take note that the hotel caters for a large number of different nationality's, predominantly German, who we found friendly and polite. but some peoples food taste's our different, we enjoyed it all tho'.
Entertainment wise, there isn't a lot going on at the hotel, gala night is fun, but the disco and other shows seem a bit lame, dont know if its because it was quiet, but thats our opinion.
Beach is across the road and through the ghazala beach hotel, only a couple of minutes walk, But cross at the place where the crossing man is, as the Egyptian drivers are a bit erratic !!
The beach is fantastic, with hundreds of free sunloungers and parasols on your own private beach. Please note, that there is a free all inc beach bar on this beach, people are getting confused by the beach bar in the middle that you have to pay for, ours is on the right as you walk on the beach, next to the spa treatment area.
Water is lovely and warm, with fantastic little reefs for exploring and snorkelling, i paid £6.00 for mine over there and went almost every day. every reef fish you can imagine, from parrot fish to clown fish etc etc, truly beautiful. but dont touch ..
NAAMA BAY itself is bustling and a bit chaotic, the center is just 5 min walk from hotel, but if you like to haggle and get a bargain, and believe me there are some to be had, then you will enjoy it. if you don't want all the hassle from eager shop keepers, then you can always go to Soho square just a 5 min taxi ride, for a more relaxed shopping and eating and drinking experience.
we loved the hotel and all the staff there, Jane from red sea was lovely and very helpful, as was our rep, and we will definitely be going back, the location is fantastic, and hotel is great.
Thank you red sea holidays for a wonderful Egypt experience.

Room Tip: standard rooms in block 5 seem nicer and newer, ours was 1515, lower floor with a pool view. and was...

This was our first time in Egypt and although a bit apprehensive with the trouble going on, not once did we feel threatened in any way. We would say the airport is a bit of a pain having waited over 2 hours in the passport control queue to find only 2 people stamping passports of 4 full planes from the UK!!

Ghazala Gardens is one of the best hotels we have had the pleasure in staying at - for people to put it down is very harsh. Overall, the hotel is outstanding set in beautifully maintained gardens (everyday!) and a huge pool which was spread out that much with bridges and little pathways it felt like you had a choice of 5 or 6 pools! :-)

The food was amazing, I have stayed at all inclusives in Turkey and believe me the food was nowhere near the standard here, you can't go wrong at Ghazala Gardens. There was something for everyone, made to order so it was always hot and it was very tasty too. The gala night especially was the best and OFogos Restaurant is awesome (try the lobster with fillet steak...yum!). During the day, Little Italy and The Island Bar and Grill was again great for burgers, pizzas, hotdogs, chicken nuggets, etc and it was all very filling together with a salad bar.

Overall, we had an absolutely fantastic time, met some lovely people from all over the UK and also the great and attentive staff who were always there if you needed anything from a top up to putting your umbrella up round the pool. Nothing was too much :-)

We would like to say a big thank you to Jane who we spoke to a couple of times and I can say it's very refreshing to have a rep who was very considerate, easy to speak to and would go out of her way to make sure everything was ok for us. Hope to see you all again next year and hope we can book into the same room as we were more than happy with the space and position.

Keep up the good work Jane, Mohammed and everyone!!

Room Tip: Opt for a Junior Suite if you can afford it as these are much more spacious and if you can, request...

We've just returned from a week's holiday at Ghazala Gardens (31st Aug - 7th Sept). There were four of us in our party and this hotel provided the perfect place to relax and soak up the incredibly hot Egyptian sun.

First impressions of the hotel:

- Grounds: immaculately kept, beautiful buildings.

- Pool: excellent choice of lagoon pools, separated by bridges, which give a spacious feel to what is a single pool.

- Rooms: slightly tired looking inside and could do with a bit of redecoration (however, who goes on a sunny holiday to sit in their rooms?)

- Food: buffet was the standard you would expect for mass catering and served its purpose for breakfast and our meal upon arrival. A la carte restaurants were of higher quality and good choice (Italian, South American and Mexican) without having to pay a supplement (unless one wants lobster or steak).

- Staff: an absolute asset to the hotel, most members of staff we had the pleasure of dealing with couldn't do enough to accommodate us and made sure we had everything we needed. The bar staff, in particular were very welcoming and provided lots of amusement.

- Beach: accessed by crossing the road to Ghazala Hotel (10 mins from Gardens to beach itself) and it an absolute must for any trip. Perfect for snorkeling, too.

- Location: the hotel is ideally located to enjoy (/brave) Naama Bay (it's across the road), without feeling you're in the middle of a huge, neon market.

A few must-do-and-see recommendations:

- Bedouin night - we booked this trip through the Red Sea rep at our hotel (around £40) and was one of the highlights of our holiday. The afternoon/ evening trip involved a visit to the Sinai desert to spend time with Egypt's nomadic natives, the Bedouins. The trip included: a camel ride, small(ish) mountain trek to watch the sunset, Bedouin dinner (amazing chicken and lamb kofte) and star-gazing. This gives you a real flavour of Egyptian life and culture.

- Farsha - this mountain cafe is a real hidden gem and although it seems off the beaten track, is only a 10 min taxi ride from the hotel. Entering the cafe is like descending into Arabian nights and everyone relaxes on cushions, looking out to sea whilst drinking real-fruit cocktails and smoking shisha.

Despite the issues that Egypt is facing, we'd definitely recommend a trip to Ghazala Gardens at any time of year; our safety never felt compromised and, if anything, we felt more welcomed than any other trip. Thank you very much!

Over a month ago, we spent two weeks at Ghazala Gardens Resort Hotel and overall had a good holiday, thanks to Mohamed Ibrahim at reception. We had a problem with our room when we arrived and he resolved it within minutes, no hassle or fuss. We found the hotel good but what was quite frustrating is that it could have been absolutely perfect but for a few minor things letting it down. For example, providing bottled water at the bars and restaurants would make a huge difference as the water provided in a glass from bars did not taste very nice and with it being so hot you need to be drinking a lot of water! Yes, you could request more water for your room, which we did, but this should be simple, 2 bottles in your room each day, and you should be able to get small bottles from every bar and restaurant – problem solved!! I believe a lot of the tummy problems people were experiencing was actually down to sunstroke rather than food.
The food was okay, we avoided the buffet restaurants after the first couple of days and just did the a la cartes, apart from Gala night, only because there was not much variety at the buffet. What I couldn’t understand is that certain foods were really tasty and nice and yet they couldn’t do this standard across the restaurants. At breakfast, Ahmed Hamouda does some very nice poached eggs and always made you feel so special and welcome; he is fantastic and such good fun on Gala night. The hotel needs more like him.
The A La Cartes:
Al Fogo (Brazilian); Food tasty, service varied sometimes really slow to getting rushed out of there one time, menu choices quite good.
Mexican; first visit there was great, Mehdad was there, main course was tasty, service really good, menu choices very limited. I don’t understand why they don’t offer the day’s snacks as alternative starters to the ones they offer. Second visit dreadful, Mehdad was not there and it really showed. We did not bother with a starter or dessert and the main course was not great, the meat was tough and not as tasty, service was dreadful, the team of staff were miserable. I could not believe the difference one person could make.
Italian: Food very tasty, service good and sometimes excellent, menu choices good. We found the best waiter here, Mohamed Elfeel, he was so smiley, hard working and quick. We had a new drink at the table just as we were getting to the end of our first, if you needed anything he was there in seconds. He truly enjoys his job and again another one that was good fun on Gala night.
Both the Italian and Mexican were outdoors and needed more fans to help keep them a bit cooler. The main area for the evening was so pretty but the building would radiate heat in the evening so we would try to sit as far from the building as we could, but again a few fans would make all the difference. We tended to use 3 of the 4 bars; mango during day, beach bar and café bar at night. Ahmed at the Mango bar was only good if you tipped him, we didn’t so we didn’t get the service that some of our friends did. But we don’t agree with tipping until we get good service! Now Mohamed Abdalazeemsaeed who worked at the beach bar during the day and café bar at night, I think is misunderstood, if you actually talk to him and not bark orders at him he is absolutely lovely, so sweet, kind and thoughtful, he was a real treasure and genuinely wanted you to be happy and it was not for tips which made you feel special. Even when he had finished work he would still make us a drink as he did not want us to wait.
In summary a really nice looking and well thought out layout to the hotel and its facilities, some of the rooms are a bit dated, but we were in one that hadn’t been refurbished and found it absolutely fine. The lagoon pools are fantastic if a little bit shallow in some areas but the beach pool is a nice touch. We found it took a while to get to know the staff but once we did they were very friendly. Food was fine but worth booking the A La Cartes as there were no restrictions on this and the meals were much tastier. We had a really good time but it could have been even better with just a bit more thought and focus on the right areas of the hotel and its service as it is so nearly there.

Room Tip: Go for a pool view as most of these are good locations

I have just returned from a week all inclusive at Ghazala gardens. Me my husband and our friends who were staying for 2weeks!!!! The hotel itself is lovely the gardens and pool were amazing. Unfortunately that's really all the good points. The food was basic with little choice, the alacarte restaurants were run on a book only basis and the food was charged at a supplement!!!! There was no entertainment at all due to the contract ending so we had to go out every evening!! This was a real disappointment and expense as drinking in the bay wasn't cheap. no music round the pool during the day I mentioned this to the rep, the reply was have you music on your phone! When we did put the music on we were told to turn it off!!! The 2 times entertainment was happening at the hotel there was a charge!! This is real shame as the hotel could of been really good. Overall we paid summer prices but the hotel was running off peak.

Stayed at Ghazala Gardens in Aug for a week with my partner and had an amazing time. Sharm was very quiet during our stay due to the trouble in Egypt however this didn't effect our holiday at all. The pool area is beautiful, with the option of relaxing at the artificial beach. The restaurants and buffet are nice and offer a good verity. Quality isn't fantastic but was nice enough. The staff are friendly and made us feel very welcome. The rooms are comfortable and well presented with a cleaner attending everyday. The beach towels that the hotel provides are changed everyday as well. The junior suites have the luxury of a swim up balcony which is great for use in the evenings. The use of the private beach across the road at Ghazala Beach hotel is ideal. The main area of Naama Bay is within less than 5 minutes walk. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would recommend the hotel and look forward to visiting again in the future.

Had an amazing holiday staying at the Ghazala gardens hotel, the staff were so helpfull everywhere within the hotel they couldn't do enough to help. We loved spending time around the Mango bar & Mohamed & his staff really made our holiday. The beach within the grounds of the sister hotel "Ghazala beach hotel" was gorgeous & the snorkelling was out if this world. We did a several trips one of which was to the tiran island by boat which did 3 snorkelling stops highly recommend. All in all I can recommend stopping at the Ghazala Gardens hotel you won't be disappointed. Not forgetting the food great service fantastic food. Enjoy your holiday as we will be returning hopefully in the very near future.
