“Great holiday”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

We were a party of 8, including 4 teenagers and the hotel was great. The pool and gardens were fantastic, best pool I've been in. All areas inside and out were very clean and the room boys very friendly and we loved their towel animals everyday! As has been written before, the staff were either very friendly or looked to be fed up.However most were in the friendly group. Memo the animation guy was great and the kids loved him. We didn't get round to booking the restaurants of an evening unfortunately which although the food in the buffets restaurants were nice, it got to be a bit samey after every night. We all ended up with different degrees of tummy upset throughout the holiday but we were told it is to be expected in Egypt so make sure you pack enough Imodium! Two of us had the Cleopatra spa treatments that were lovely.Just remember to haggle the price. We paid £60 but found people who had paid £45! The down sides were going out the hotel and being hassled by people in the street. Just ignore them usually helps but annoying all the same and on our arrival we weren't allowed to take our own cases to our rooms. The bell boys insisted and of course just stood there waiting for a tip to be given. As the first night of the holiday we had no change so they done exceptionally well out of us! So make sure you have small notes to tip. Booking trips is also cheaper outside of the hotel. We used Sinai safari adventures which we looked up before going away and contacted once there. They are an English run company too and provide their own guides as well. If I returned to Sharm I would use this hotel again.

We have just returned from our second visit to this hotel. It's still fantastic. Jane the Red Sea rep was great and nothing was too much trouble. We found all the bar and restaurant staff very friendly and full of humour. They work so hard and the food and service was excellent. It is such a laid back and relaxing holiday. The gardens are so beautiful the only slight downside is the tatty rooms. They do need an update as does the bed linen. Every thing else fab,

This hotel is brilliant, I agree the rooms do need refurbed but we went to reception and we were moved to a lovely room, no problem.
The staff really are brilliant, and the service was faultless. The food was very good, and even though we were there for 2 weeks, we didnt get bored with the choices. special mentions for Jane from guest relations, Abgany, the bars manager and virtuoso drummer, Mohammed, who looked after our every needs at dinner, and to all the staff who made our stay so special.
This was our 4th stay in Sharm, and easily the best. we are saving our pennies, and hope to come back in September

Just returned from this hotel after our 11 night holiday. Check in very quick, hotel lobby and pool areas very impressive, however rooms are in need of a full refurb, not 4star by any means, however it was kept spotlessly clean by our room boy...all of my parties pillows and duvets were lumpy and very uncomfortable. Very quiet area, away from the very limited evening entertainment but some of our party were woken every morning at 3am ish by the calls to prayer via a megaphone from the nearby mosque. The Food is very very limited and, to be very honest is of a low standard ... But most was edible, however the pasta chef at the fountain buffet was amazing and the crepe chef in the olive buffet was very very good. We witnessed a couple of food hygiene nightmares, one evening in the fountain buffet, my mum and I decided to have roast beef..... The chef was wearing gloves and was also responsible for cooking the raw squid and fish, however, after picking up a couple of handfuls of raw fish, he then proceeded to slice the roast beef without changing gloves.. Perhaps I may not have noticed this but we were being extra vigilant as both my husband and 8 year old daughter had already come down with severe diahorrea. I had heard of an awful lot of people having diahorrea and one elderly chap was admitted to hospital. Needless to say we removed the beef from our plates. We were also served very undercooked chicken nuggets at the island grill one lunchtime... when the waiter saw them on the serviette, he looked perplexed and after we said that they were undercooked, he took them to the chef... to his credit, he checked the batch the were about to be served and threw the whole lot in the bin...he then checked every batch from then until we left. We did go back for lunch again later in the holiday and ordered the nuggets again... They were perfect..... We found staff were either very happy to serve and engage with you or they gave the impression of being very fed up. The mango bar was by far the highlight of our holiday, and due to the lack of entertainment unless you paid at least 10 euros for it, we spent most of evenings there. Very special thanks to Mohamed and his staff..... He was truely wonderful. We only tried the Brazilian a la carte .. O Fogos.....superb..A special mention to Ahmed and his amazing eyes...You may also meet Magdy wandering around the pool from the Grand Spa situated by the entrance of the Ghazala Beach. We can highly recommend the services that he provides. We had the Cleopatra and Ramesses treatments... Around 70 quid for each treatment but well worth it if you like a good pamper and an exceptional massage. All in all we enjoyed our time at Ghazala Gardens. We visited Cairo by air via the Red Sea holiday rep, well worth the £175 however make sure that you order a dinner box as we didn't arrive back until 9.55, even though we were told that we would be back by 7 or 8 pm, therefore missed dinner, not good not having anything to eat for 9 hours. The reception staff were happy to sort something for us from the kitchen but we were so tired, we declined. We did mention this to the Red Sea rep Siad and Jane from guest relations as something that should be mentioned to any further clients going to Cairo. We still have this issue outstanding and as Siad and Jane were unable to sort in the resort, we will now need to continue our complaint with Red Sea holidays directly. Despite some low points, We would go back to the Ghazala Gardens... The staff that made the effort, made our holiday.

Dear Tracy,

Thank you for your comments which are very important to us and we very much value your opinion regarding your stay.
Your points regarding certain food areas have been noted and passed onto to the relevant departments who will investigate this.We do provide evening entertainment every night in our Ghazala cafe which is at no extra charge and ranging from Belly Dancers,Tanura show,Acrobatic show, live music and much much more, each and every night for all our guests. We do hold an Egyptian party and an Oriental party once per week, this entertainment only incurs an extra charge should the guests wish to do so. Pharaohs revenge is the local name for an upset tummy and the most common causes are dehydration or stomach virus.Drinking at least 3 litres of water daily, avoid going into the sun immediately after eating, avoiding spicy foods if you are not accustomed to it are the common causes, and in these temperatures just being careful.I have to add the hospital case was a separate matter and in no reason from our hotel.Thank you for your kind comments from the service you received and for sure we will pass on your feedback to Mohamed and his team, also Ahmed and the team at Ofogos who are always happy to receive wonderful feedback.
Our Best Regards From The Red Sea Shores.

We flew to Egypt on the 15th May 2013 from Exeter Airport. The chosen hotel was the Ghazala Gardens. On arrival we were met by Red Sea Holidays reps as soon as we stepped into the arrival area. There was none of the usual wandering around wondering where to go. Transfer was by their own coach, which was clean and modern. On arrival at the hotel we were met by an efficient and friendly collection of various staff. Our cases were taken with a smile to our room, which had a bowl of fresh fruit for us. Within a few minutes a waiter delivered a cold collation, which was most welcome, as it was now late evening.
The room was clean and welcoming. Anyone can find faults if they look, and a little bit of TLC might be a good idea. However, my wife who is very very fussy about clean and tidy bedrooms, was pleased.
The following day the more we saw of the hotel, the more impressed we became. The food was varied and good. All tables were kept clean, staff were well presented giving an impression of efficiency.During the week we were staying, only one evening meal was not up the very high standard we had come to expect. A gala meal is held on Friday evenings, and this should not be missed. The catering staff present a Cruise Liner type evening.
The swimming pools need to be seen. One has a sand beach! Across the road is their sister hotel, giving access to a private beach. Very clean. Very safe.
Being central to Naama it's self, as well as other local places of interest, this was a very suitable and convenient hotel.
As far as we were concerned, the hotel and Red Sea Holidays give good solid value for money. As our first time in Egypt, we are impressed.

Room Tip: All the rooms we saw seemed fine. The evening entertainment is stopped at a suitable time.

Returned from ghazala gardens on the 26th went for 10nights with my boyfriend, all inclusive and it was amazing. Read the previous review and was a bit apprehensive about the hotel but when we arrived it was different. We were excited and thought it was really nice. The only thing that annoyed me from getting off the coach was the bell men at the hotel determined not to let me take my luggage eventhough we had them in our hands, as we got to the room had a look around but the bell man stood in the room for at least 5 mins before he left. I know getting a tip is normal but been travelling all day and wanted to start the holiday he just wouldn't leave. The food was really good and surprising I enjoyed everything, the a la carte restaurants were good aswell but I didn't enjoy the Mexican and the manager there was a snotty horrible man, only smiled if we ordered anything that wasn't in the all inclusive. The rest of the staff are hard workers, were there for us, very attentive and helpful on another level. Enjoyed the holiday and is still sad to be back, want the heat back. :)

Myself and my husband have just returned home after our first week in Egypt. The airport was a bit of disarray and they forced us over to get visa, you don't need this unless you are venturing out of sharm, taba etc. ignore and go to passport control. Take a pen you will need it to fill in forms there and back home. Transfer was 20 minutes which was great. Hotel is nice, but the way you get your luggage a bit strange you leave with bell boy they take if to your room which felt a little bit much , they want tips we didnt have anything smaller than 100 unfortunately. Food was hit and miss for breakfast and tea. Dinner however was nice in the island bars burgers, chicken nuggets, pizza, chips. We went out each night to eat in Neema bay , cheap as chips!! On the beach front we found a place to eat on the beach , 2 soups, chateaux Briande and chips and 2 beers, 220 Egyptian pounds, £22.00 brilliant! There is Hard Rock Cafe, tgi Fridays, KFC, Pizza Hut, mcdonalds, all very cheap! If you want to try casinos take ID. Beware on Fridays they have a gala meal and clear alot of sunbeds away giving limited seating during the day, we had to stay in our room that day, very disappointed. Wifi only in reception, ok during day but at night it slows to nothing as too many devices on it, could be better. Standard Rooms are ok, fridge included, 2 English channels available. Shower hit and miss hot and cold not consistent. All in all a nice place , wouldn't go all inclusive again , Neema bay is across the road but alot of hassle from the people there. They also don't seem to have respect for women , pretty much ignored me and wanted to speak to my husband, however they hasn't met me and I am the boss lol!

Hi Arich1978

Thank you leaving your feedback and that you enjoyed your first trip to Egypt here at Ghazala Gardens, in our great location in Naama Bay and also that you enjoyed the local nightlife while on your holiday.
Regarding our fabulous weekly Gala event we do have to clear this "certain" area of sunbeds, to prepare for this wonderful All inclusive evening that we hold every Friday. There are ample enough sunbeds and umbrellas located around our lagoon style pool and gardens and unique sandy beach and throughout the hotel grounds,so there should never be a problem to find somewhere to enjoy your day.We do also have free WI-Fi which is available not only in reception but also in our Ghazala cafe area outside.
We are happy to read all in all you had a nice stay.
Our Warmest Regards from the Red Sea Shores.
