“great first time in egypt”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2009

first time in egypt and would certainly return. hotel is basic but clean, comfortable and better than we're used to! Stayed at pool near to lobby which was nice and quiet compared to the pool by the restaurant which had lots of young russian and polish guests. Well catered for despite a power cut lasting 6am til 11am, we were instructed that usual breakfast service would be served at sister hotel Rossetta, which was equal to jasmine (lovely). Entertainment was rubbish at night but met some lovely british people (you know who you are). Went into naama bay every night as location was ideal (10 min walk). Food was convenient and substantial and wine was lovely but only served in restaurant with meals. We had no problems with mozzies but lots of guests suffered with lots of bites. Excellent trip to water park in Sharm not cleo. paid 510 egyptian including transport, food and drink. small charge for lockers. Glass bottom boat is a must do much better that submarine. Met a british guy who organises trips independantly as he's just starting his own business. excursions with him are better than with travel reps, as they are more personal and friendly. Michael tours [--] call when in Egypt. E-mail in England [--] Go to him for quads, fantastic time. weather was excellent by day and 30degrees at night! Naama bay brilliant, avoid hardrock cafe as its a rip off. Give zsa zsa bar and camel bar your custom instead you are treated better. Have a good time Mark, Karen and Kirstyx

My wife and I have just returned from a week in Sharm el Sheikh staying at Tropicana Jasmine, from 5th to 12th June 2009. We arrived late in the evening on the first night. We were booked in with ease and the staff were very friendly, we were shown to our room which was on the ground floor, as my wife has a problem with her knee and has to walk with a stick this was ok. The room was clean - there were 3 beds in the room one of which was a fold up bed, I requested this was removed, which it was within 5 minutes. I checked the fridge in the room - it was empty, as my wife needed to take medication, I had to go back to reception and pay (yes pay) for water.
The hotel is not very disabled friendly, lots of steps and steep slopes, the staff however, were excellent, pool was good with a swim up bar but in need of a lick of paint.
We booked our holiday through a travel agent, who advertised a free transfer by bus to the beach, which is about 20 minutes walk from the hotel. There is a short cut through the sister hotel, straight across the road from reception. down to main road, you will need to cross this go right and cut through the Hilton, then right again along the beach to the Jasmine private beach, no real problems with beach sellers, they do take no for an answer. The beach is clean with plenty of sunbeds and shade. There is a small coral reef about 30 feet out into the water, snorkelling is a must, the fish are fantastic. If you want to drink take plenty of water or juice in bottles from the hotel, all inclusive does not apply at the beach. None of the above spoiled our holiday. We will be going back to Sharm.
