“daaaammnn!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

Our first holiday to Egypt and it didn't disappoint we were there from 24th June for 2 weeks. Our rooms were spotless. Couldn't fault any of the staff at all especially our cleaner Mohammed who does a excellent job. The restaurant staff are very good our second visit to the restaurant and they already knew our drinks and couldn't do enough for us. The animation team (daammnn) did well with what they had to work with for the entertainment wasn't great but kept us occupied maybe with a little bit of resources could be a great entertainment team.
The pools were good the pool by the main restaurant for me was the best but the other is also good.

Na'ama Bay can be a little bit daunting at first with the hassle but a simple no thanks is enough to keep them at arms length but be prepared to say it every 6 seconds. its a good place to shop, eat and drink with the Hard Rock Cafe and the Tavern Bar being our favorites.
If you want to shop id suggest the old market and Soho square lots of bargains to be had.

Room Tip: Take your card off your room key and leave it in the slot to keep it running while your out this is...

We were there for 3 weeks from the 26th Feb. to 19th March.Myself,Wife and 2 friends.A lot has been said about the food,so won't go into too much detail, but we all enjoyed every meal that we had in the "Main Restaurant"without any problems.Repetative or otherwise. The selection, taste and presentation was equal to the 5* we stayed in last year.Waled and staff go out on a limb to
make sure you are made welcome.Sure the soft drinks and Wine are a little bit on the weak side
but more than adequate to wash the food down. So, to the hard stuff in the bars - draught beer in
the Jasmine Club bar and bottled in the others. We took plenty of plastic pint glasses with us,but
never bothered to use them (Not really needed)Plentiful supply by the staff in the smaller glasses.Vodka,Gin,Oozo and Brandy ok with your required mixer, but not top shelf stuff.
Regarding the Mamma Mia Restaurant, allocation is 1 visit per person officially. We found the service and food to be more than adequate and very tasty, served by Ahmed and presented well.
The Italian Restaurant could maybe do with a lick of freshening up,but it's not the decoration that
you are there for.

For a 3*Hotel this is as good as it gets ( In Sharm ),fresh towels everyday, rooms cleaned every day, comfortable beds, first rate Staff in every aspect, nice relaxing atmosphere, lovely Coffee's in Reception bar,Nicely situated position and all in all, well worth a try.
If you have a problem,it might be worth a quick chat with Alexandra, somewhat of a quality controller and a really nice person to talk to as regards information etc.Personally I think she is possibly a little under rated in my opinion.A Woman in a Man's world so to speak.Say Keith and Chris send their good wishes if you see her.

One slightly sad note regarding an obnoxious elderly couple (British) that managed to get a perfectly nice, pleasant and hard working Waiter by the name of MahMoud, suspended because he would only replenish their last orders Beer stocks by 2 drinks instead of 8 or so,simply because he had other thirsty drinkers also waiting to be served before the dreaded last all inclusive deadline ie.11.00pm.Suffice to say they could buy more after time, but it had been noted that they had been drinking from late morning none stop. They say the "Younger Generation "are bad ???.

Anyway enough said,if your thinking of going to this Hotel,go with an open mind and enjoy it.
WE all wish we were still there and to everyone who works at the Jasmine and especially Mah
Moud Farouk who saved the rooms that we requested,THANK YOU.

stayed here 18th - 25th march 2013.
we were based in the Jasmine which i think is the case for most Brits..hotel nice and clean & room was excellent . pool area was ok with plenty of room around sunbeds but not enough decent brollies and the pool was good size and clean enough...poolside snacks were chicken or burger (with chips) on alternate days and a few pastries . NO ICE CREAMS OR ICE LOLLIES anywhere on site. Shehata the pool bar waiter worked tirelessly to keep everyone topped up,he and "Cookie" always smiling.all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Restaurant was nice but the food wasnt that clever.(my wife and i will try anything) lunch menu was probably better than evening meal but the soup was always good. At breakfast ,"Smiler" as i called him made great omelletes (ask for mixed with cheese )..restaurant soft drinks seemed to be watered down as the day went on.
The "Jasmine" bar was like a little club house but had no atmosphere so we generally had drinks in the reception bar. beer was served in very small glasses, some smaller than others, whilst spirits were served too big which spoilt the taste,as it wasnt particulary good anyway.smoking was permitted in this bar,but not in the Jasmine bar.any drinks taken away from these areas including Tea or Coffee had to be in little plastic cups
The hotel entertainment team (not "Thomsons" ) did their best but i think they were on a tight budget , the Girls were a good laugh..shame theyre both leaving next week to be replaced, we were told, by Russian animation team.
I wouldnt be surprised if this complex becomes wholly east european.
Well situated with a gentle stroll into naama bay, just turn right out of the hotel and then cross the road and walk thru the hilton complex onto the beach road and head right again for bars and restaurants but watch out (as in many similair resorts) for people hassling you for business. we were told to avoid writing anything for them as this is seen as some sort of contract ?
also be wary if you are asked to change English pound coins into notes as they may slip the odd Egyptian 50p in , which are similair to pound coin (equivalent to 5p)
Despite the hotels minor faults mentioned , which could easily be rectified, we enjoyed our break in the sun thanks to the attitude of all the staff and some nice people we met whilst there

Room Tip: we were in ground floor 2101. this block well positioned for pool and restaurant

we stayed here for one week in March 2013. I would have to say the rooms are very clean, and the beds comfortable. There are a couple of downsides to this hotel, we found that the food can be a little repetitive but, it was well cooked - we werent impressed with the on site italian restaurant either and luckily managed to eat later at the restaurant. The other is the harassment of the spa staff. The spa is located at the entrance to the hotel but not part of it. Their salesmen come around the pool areas at least three times a day to try to sell you the spa packages but they half the prices. You will not get what you paid for and in our experience they changed the price and asked for more money once the treatments were completed even though we complained. The standard of the treatments is really rubbish and very expensive so I would strongly suggest you ignore the salesmen and dont engage in conversation with them get your manicures and pedicures before you leave the uk!
The hotel staff are lovely and helpful. They will look after you very well here. If you are lucky enough to have Abdulah the pool and towel guy, he will make you smile, pool bar service and food at the quiet pool was always wonderful during the day.
Have a great time here, we did. :)

Room Tip: Everyone said their rooms were very clean and most of the UK guests were close together, so go for a...

First off I was a bit confused reading some of the reports on here, it was like 2 different hotels, guess what it is basically. the Rosetta is the first part of the complex you come to after leaving reception and when you walk up the hill and cross the private road you are in the Jasmine Club, both are operated as one by the Tropicana company and you can use any part of the hotel or any of the 4 pools, 2 bars etc.
From the off if you have any issues with mobilty, or in a wheelchair I would strongly recommend this is not the hotel for you due to the steep slopes and many steps. if you are able bodied its still probably an idea to let the porters take your cases to the rooms and bring back to reception when your leaving, a small tip and their happy to help.
The staff at this hotel are excellent and always willing to help, the waiters are superb and look after you all through the week, obviously working the tips but its worth it. we had occassions when the waiter saw us walking to the restaraunt and had a table with our drinks on before we got in the door!!thats service.
so back to the 2 hotels scenario, the Rosetta is mainly Russians and the Jasmine mainly Brits and others, which explains some comments from previous posts about feeling surrounded.. if you book through the likes of Thomson you will be put in the Jasmine normally, if you go through some smaller agencies you may end up in the away end for lack of a better analogy. The rooms in Jasmine are also supposedly better than the Rosetta.
The 4 pools are spread across the complex, the top pool by the Jasmine restaraunt is where most of the activity goes on, music playing, darts with forfeits, water volley ball etc. the next pool down by the Jasmine club bar is very popular and the beds are claimed very early, quiter music, some darts and stretches by the pool, both of these have swim up bars and do snacks during the day, burgers and pizza. the pools guys work their socks off and the barmen will bring your drinks for you if you cant be bothered to get up, dont be stingy and look after these guys properly they are all a good laugh. The next pool is in the Rosetta and called the star pool due to its shape and is quite small and hardly ever used, it has about 30beds and i only counted a max of 6 people at anyone time, no music and reasonbly close the 4th pool to use the bar etc. its a great place to chill out and listen to your ipod in the sun with no disturbance. At the same level up the hill as this is a kids area and they have a small pool in this area for them as well with a gate. The 4th pool just up from reception(lowest pool) also has a bar and snack counter, no music or activity's apart from the laugh with the guy giving out the towels and looking after the pool, we met this guy on his way out of the hotel one night after doing a 15 hour shift, he still asked us if everything was ok and was their anything he could do and then wished us goodnight, THATS SERVICE.
There are 2 restaurants, one under the main reception room and the Jasmine club up the top of the hill. No competition here, don't use the Main restaurant unless you have too, its dark and dingy, the service from the waiters does not match the service in the Jasmine, the food was not as good and there is an issue with fly's in this one. The jasmine is the one to use and the steps help work off the food. breakfast is monotonous, but the chef in the corner does eggs anyway you want them. the food in Jasmine was always good quality and I was able to find something I liked every time.
All inclusive, the bar is only open till 11pm, after this you can pay for drinks. they have a tendency to give you beer in small disposable cups during the day, but this is not an issue, I asked for 3 beers and they give you 3 small cups, some people were using the beer cooler jugs and filling this up with the drinks..there seems to be a distinct lack of wine in Sharm El SHiek, not just the hotel.I cant comment on the evening entertainment as were never about to see it.
The beach is not attached to the hotel, their 2 for use and have to be booked and get a pass for them, Viva beach is a 10 minute walk, and throught the viva bar on the beach, beds look old and cramped together. the other is wind beach which is a bit of a stroll, but there is a regular bus service from the Hotel, we didnt use either beach as the pools sufficed on this vacation.

we booked the Vip boat trip and really enjoyed it, good day out and the snorkelling was excellent, also did the bar crawl with Thomson which is was a good night out, but you need to have good people to enjoy it. the tavern, the bus stop, little buddha and the hard rock cafe..

when heading to Naama bay for the shops and bars, dont be put off by the the guys trying to get you in their shops, polite but firm NO THANK YOU,does the trick. when walking to the high street, look out for the guys that come and walk along with you and strike a conversation they are trying to get you to go to certains shops or bars, again firm but polite NO THANKS, I KNOW WHERE IM GOING. THE FIRST QUESTION WILL BE" IS THIS YOUR FIRST TIME IN SHARM?" the answer should be no I've been before.. The camel guys again, polite no thanks and they leave you alone. The taxis can be a pain, top tip, walk on the opposite side of the road against the traffic and they leave you alone. we had some good nights in Naama and enjoyed a few beers and smoked a couple of Shishas, late into the night, cherry, apple, melon many flavs available. The thing is to go with the flow and treat all the attention as parts of the fun, you will hear cheap as chips and cheaper than asda more time than you can count. GO WITH IT, THEY ARE EARNING A LIVING..

Alternative to walking along the main road is the beach promenade just across the main road from the hotel, much more civilised walk into Naama, lined with restaurants and bars and we had a lovely meal at the Moonlight Restaraunt(huge T-Bone) meal for 2 and dessert with drinks came to about £27 sterling.

right had enough typing now, hope this was useful, please click and let me know if it was, if you have any questions, i will answer if I can. we will definitely go back to Sharm in the future.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel from 14-21th march,we whish to book it for bit longer.
It was our first visit in Egypt so we were lookig forward to experience something new and mainly couldnt wait to get some sun.
when we arrived,we got a welcome drink at the Rosseta reception, than filled in some papers and after that were ready to go to our room.we were staying in Jasmin club hotel, which was better part of the tropicana resort.our room was on the ground floor so we didnt have a balcony, only open terrace which we were bit disappointed but still happy with our room, very nice clean, modern, comfortable bed, nice big shower.we arrived after 6pm,after we refreshed went to main restaurant for dinner, where we were welcomed by two waiters Mustafa and Mohsen, who they were looking after us for the whole week.
Reastaurant is very nice, clean with variety of diffrent dishes, roast chicken, griled fish(my favourite),pasta, mixed salads, breads, deserts, fruits.during the our stay we were spending days at jasmin club pool, which is much better, more lively with music and so many activites during the whole day, stretching, aqua aerobic, darts, water polo, salsa lessons....animation team will keep you active:)! there is a pool bar where you can get soft and alcoholic drinks, snacks like crossoints, chips, burgers from 11am till 5pm,after that the pool is closing, but you can still stay there to relax.you dont need to bring your beach towels as its provided for free, you get a cards for a towels at the reception. The anaimation team organise great shows every night like oriental night with fire man and belly dancer, karaoke,mr and miss rossetta, and also later after show after 11pm,they organise trips to beach or desert party, which you have to pay extra but is worth it for a young people to have more fun.we went to beach paty which was amazing.we also booked one trip with thomson to desert called ultimate desert experience which was amazing worth the money.the couch picked us up at 2.30pm,took us to quaid biked center, after you get ready for dessert you can, jump on your bike and have a amazing time at desert, including a camel ride, watching the sun set from the high rocks and great african show with buffet dinner.
we always tipped our waiters, cleaner at the beggining of our holidays so they can look after us better and also on our last day, they really work so hard for a very little money so a nice tip is really bonus for them.we had a amazing time at the resort, met some new great friends....cant wait to go back next year!:)

Room Tip: for a nice room with a balcony and a great view ask for a second floor room.

Where do I start what a wonderful hotel my first time visit to Egypt and I will defiantly be going back to the Tropicana Rosetta . I had never considered going to Egypt but the weather and the price seemed the better option And I am so glad went we was so pleasantly surprised. The staff are incredible the restaurant staff give a 5* service our drinks were waiting on the table before we walked through the doors I cannot fault them, The food was great everyday we found something nice to eat . The only downside was we only stayed for 1 week I will defiantly be returning soon for longer . We went to Cairo by air to see the pyramids what an experience for the cost of £165 each booked with Thomson a coached picked us up from the hotel took us to the airport for a 45 minute flight to Cairo once we arrived we was greeted by our tour guide who was also brilliant he had so much knowledge and made us feel safe we went to the mosque , river Nile for lunch , pyramids then off to the papyrus paintings shop then we headed back home after a amazing but very long day I would defiantly recommend the Cairo trip by air. All in all I cannot fault the Tropicana Rosetta and jasmine club the pools were brilliant loved the swim up bar , The waiter would bring your drinks to your sunbed if you did not fancy the pool as it was on little on the chilly side. Naama bay was very nice yes you do get a little harassed when walking past the shops but a no thank you should do it if you don't want the hassle just head down to soho square its hassle free shopping with a choice of bars and restaurants . A Big thank you to all the staff at the Tropicana Rosetta and jasmine club see you soon.
