“2weeks fabulous holiday”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

The hotel is only 10-15 minutes from the airport bonus!!
We stayed for 2 weeks at this fabulous hotel. Yes it is a little tired and is being uodated. but everywhere was clean. And all the staff were very friendly, helpful and happy!!! No hassle, nothing was too much trouble! and you didnt feel thet were doing this for tips either. The majority of staff are male, only one female working at the restaraunt. not including animation team.
There are 2 bars in the main recetion(Drago up and Piano down), In the Dragon bar we had Mohammed who was a star so friendly and fun. He taught us some Arabic.(you can get extra bottles of water here from 10am til 11pm). All Inclusive drinking finishes at 11pm. The coctails are strong and are either gin, rum, vodka, brandy or whisky in colourful layers. If you want a particular spirit just ask for say vodka cocktail. The wifi is free in the main area! I found this out on last day..... Beer is nice and the wine is drinkable....
The food is repetative but there is a great selection and its what you make of it. Breakfast you could have fresh eggs or omellettes, scrambled and boiled, beans!! sausage, fresh pancakes or waffles cooked to order. No pork at all but we are in a muslim country. Lots of choice of cheese for breakfast but not at any othet time of day which was wierd. Fresh bread and pastries, fruit, cereal youghurt, you could even have custard or rice pudding!!
Lunch and supper were about the same, there was, soup meat and salads potatoes (usually a bit hard), veg, rice pasta, very sweet puds and fruit (lots of dates some resembled raw new potatoes!).Usually there is a roast meat Beef lamb turkey e.t.c each evening (beef wellington one night!!.The fish was a little strange it always seemed a bit slimy n not quite cooked?? there is a small BBQ outside the hotel at night. Didnt try, but looked and smelt nice!! a few cats liked it too!!
There are 2 al a carte restaurants Chinese or Indian (book the night before in the restaurants) both are good with four set courses (beef, chicken, seafood or veggie). There is a menu that you can pay extra for. There is a seafood restaurant but that costs to go there. The staff were very friendly in the main restaurant especially Mohammed (wears a striped jacket!!!) If you want to tip, give it to the restaurant bar managers, the guys in beige shirts for food or blue for bar they will share the tip equally. yes there were restaurants closed but with 2 buffets, a beach snack bar (beach 1) and 2 free al a cartes and one fish one to pay, isnt that enough??
The main pool is huge with a swim up bar, large slide and wave pool. there is a smaller secluded pool just passed beach 3.
The layout of the hotel is set in a bay with the main area at the top and the beaches at the bottom. There are lots of steps to keep you fit or a shuttle bus if you feel lazy.
We stayed on beach one for most of the 2 weeks. The sand is a bit course but hey its only to walk into the sea. The pool guys are fab but it was a losing battle picking up all the daily discarded cigarette ends! There is a coral bed right in front of the hotel sunbeds (dont walk on it as I did!!) If you go to the the left a bit there is sand to walk in and swim. You can swim and snorkel around the coral. The fish are beautiful and lots of variety. There is a bar and snack food (chips, hot dog meat n salad if you want little lunch time snack) We walked back to the main buffet for lunch. The beach is shared by another hotel (sunbeds to the left arent from Pyramisia lol ) There is a jetty to the left with daily boats going on diving snorkelling trips, It was lovely watching them and the planes!! There is a 2nd and 3rd beach but there is only a plastic jetty beach 2 and wooden at beach 3. Beach 2 jetty was great for snorkelling and diving lessons.
We booked with the coral diving centre (behind beach one) and went on a day trip to snorkel around Tiran island ( you could dive too). What a fabulous day! snorkelling gear provided. Lunch and drinks inc.(non alcohol!!) The whole day cost £24 each and was well worth it!! We had Frady take us snorkelling, he was great! and Ahmed takes pictures which are an optional extra.
There is another trip to Ras Mohammed too for great diving & or snorkelling.
There are guys trying to sell trips, newspapers etc, that walk past your bed but are not pushy except one!!! and a polite no thanks and they leave you alone!!!! one guy from the massage parlour was very pushy and wouldnt accept that I wanted to think about it! He was very persistant, my hubby had to tell him to go in the end!! Shame because I did fancy a massage and did want to think about it!! But he put me offf.
We took a taxi form the hotle recetion (Sinbad lovely guy!) to Soho square well worth a look!! Hassle free shopping (they are not allowed). Bars an English pub! Ice bar, restaurants. Bowling cinema, skating. It cost £5 each way.
We didnt go to Naama Bay or the old market. which are recommended and cost about £8 each way by taxi, but didnt fancy the hassle n haggling. There are big shops there too and a Hard Rock Cafe n Little Buddha? I was able to get all my souvenirs in Soho.
There are shops in the hotel but some shop keepers are a bit pushy!!! The snorkelling shop and cigarette one are ok. But we were dragged into the parchment picture shop (Tito!!) and hard sold a picture (which is lovely!). There is a small supermarket at the bottom end of the shops with crisp etc. If you dont fancy the hassle of walking thru them all. There are some steps up at the side of the fish restaurant. This is where the massage parlour, indoor pool, kids club, hairdressers are, at the bottom.
The pool guys especially Ayman are fab, fresh towels everyday if needed!!.
Our room was 5112, 2nd floor with amazing sea view from the balcony. They layout means the rooms in front arent visible only their roof (which looks like a garden with a pyramid steps entrance). Yes the room was dated but spotless!! Plenty of towel art everyday!! There is a fridge and you get 2 bottles of water each day. Ramadan was our housekeeper he was fun and very happy and friendly. Airconditioning was old and not great but ok! Ramadan left us an extra room card (you only get one) and we could leave the airconditioning on constant. Plenty of wardrobe drawer space and a free safe.
The animation team are great and such fun!!! Ahmed you rock!! and Becca, Sophie and Jelena were especially fab and helped make our holiday great. The guys were good too but I cant remember all their names sorry... The entertainment was good, I only hope the bingo night is improved lolo The line was a house and a house 3 books!! Hehe it took forever. They had thier regular hotel dances which I loved joining in!!
The hotel was quiet the first week and a little busier the 2nd, never a problem with sunbeds! |It has just changed over from the Sea Magic Resort back to Pyramisia. a big Egyptian hotel chain.
There were a lot of Russians approx 80%) which is fine apart from..... every day on the beach 1 the animation guy opens his hut at 10 am and talks in Russian and plays the same Russian songs regularily and loud!! He only does this 2 hours am and pm tho, and somtimes plays English music. But I did notice we were probably a minority on the beach us Brits ( I think a lot of the time it was only me n Hubby!) Also there is a ?lifeguard on beach 1 who is very fond of his whistle! I was tempted to put it somwhere.....
There was also Egyptian famillies staying at the hotel especially at the weekends, it was lovely to see!!
All in all I would recommend this hotel and we had a very pleasant memorable holiday. Oh the mossies left me alone too only 1 bite!! But hubbie got a few the first few days ? early evening on the beach. A couple of upset tummy days but not enought to spoil the holiday! and I eat everything!

Room Tip: If you like Sea view most of the rooms outside of the main receptin have sea views

We have just returned from a week's holiday at the Pyramisa Hotel in Sharm. We were a family of 7 (4 adults & 3 children). To be honest we were worried after reading previous reviews but we had nothing to worry about once we arrived. Reception staff were really nice & our bags were taken to our rooms. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were all very friendly. Rooms were ok - cleaned every day & bottles of water provided daily. Food was ok although no chips for the kids with lunch & evening meal but you could get pizza and chips in the afternoon between 3 - 4.30pm so they were happy. The restaurant staff were really nice & again nothing was too much trouble for them. Lovely pancakes & waffles for breakfaswt!!! The pool boy was lovely and insisted on carrying our towels to the beds & after 2 days would put them on our beds ready for when we got there after breakfast. The bar staff were lovely & always remembered what you were drinking & always had time to have a chat and ask how you were. My only criticism and it's not really a criticism is that the hotel needs a bit of work here & there cosmetic wise but overall a very enjoyable holiday.

This is the second time we have been to this hotel the other time 5 years ago. We have had a very enjoyable holiday with no complaints. We had read the other reviews and tried and tested some of the complaints. Firstly the reception staff where very friendly within minutes of us getting into our rooms our adult kids requested towels (they had not seen theirs in the bathroom and some water and even an extra bed as we had requested a twin for them. All arrived within minutes and the room was big enough to fit a single bed in as well. Later we requested the football on but they did try to get it but just couldnt get it on their tv's. We had a beautiful pool and sea view it was lovely room 0643 the kids room 0646 had a sea and airport view which we would have also loved with a lttle noise but not enough to moan about. Ours rooms where a little dated but well cleaned and the hotel is going through a reburbishment but you cant tell really there is no disruption just one afternoon they tried the fire alarms for a while but at least they had them. The pool is lovely and clean at all times. The food is varied as you make it with lots of choice and would be repetative if you stuck to the same thing every night, we tried the Indian we had a great night trying the food and fun with the waiter it was all very nice different but nice. We read getting water was an issue you got two bottles in your room and you could get more from the dragon bar or fill your other bottles at all the water stations no problem . The animation team where excelllent Ahmed, Sophia and Becca made it good fun. We also have to thank the pool attendants who treated our son when he cut the top of his toe off they acted speedily and effeciently and even better there is a clinic open 9am till 10pm who treated the wound everyday at a cost of £160 which was a fair price. Since we where last there though there are not as many fish because they have built a jetty with about 25+boats taking tourists out to see the fish further out so thats a shame there are still lots of fish to see even for none snorkelers. There are lots of sunbeds on man made beaches with othere bars and new snck bars and a bus taking you up and down thats worth a ride to see all the hotel. It was pretty quiet in the first week and then got busier in the second but a really enjoyable time by all Just one little moan our air conditioning was that good but the kids room had a fab breeze on the other side

Rooms: Dirty, smell of dead mouse, hair on sheets, dust on floors, no soap, no shampoo, empty minibar, TV from 1980, bathroom cleaned last year. Baaaaadddd

Service: Irritating, they dont care about tips anymore, not listening, just want money from you for trips. I have allergy on them now.

Food: 2 days ok, than you want to kill yourself and looking for at least KFC

Drinks: Alcohol has like 2%, juices too sweet, cocktails bad, good coffee, little water

Restaurants in Hotel: In Chinese one we had 6 cockroaches on table

Pool: Too loud, music the same each day. Better go to beach far from this craiziness
