“November Vacation”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

Once again enjoyed 10 days at Domina Coral Bay Hotel. We were warmly greeted on our arrival at the Oasis reception by Mohammed Fathi who quickly processed our booking which enabled us to quickly get to our room and then be able to enjoy the rest of the day on the beach after our
4 hour flight from Switzerland. Mr. Fathi was very helpful during our whole stay with any questions, problems or information we needed.
The beach is wonderful at this hotel, 1.8km long and on a house reef. Plenty of places to sit depending if you want peace and quiet, amination, music or water sports, the choice is yours. There are also many pools, but why go to the pool if you are at the Red Sea?
The main restaurant is a bit big and maybe because of the size does not necessarily have a cozy atmosphere. It is also best to go later in the evening when it is quieter. Most people go just when it opens in the evening and I have the feeling they have not eaten for a week by the size of the portions they take (and leave mostly) and in the way they eat, which I find a bit off putting, but I assume this is a cultural thing depending what country they have come from??? Also they all seem to leave at the same time, which if you just arrive at the restaurant looks a tip and the personel don't have time to clear it quickly enough! This was different in the past, but assume times have changed - so go later in the evening when it is quieter! The food is okay, it is a bit repetative, but it is good enough and there is a lot of choice if you are prepared to taste different things and not expect chips! It is Egypt......
The rooms have always been clean and tidy. If there is anything not good, just go to the reception where I am sure all problems will be resolved. Our time was spent at the beach, enjoying time out and about and our room only needed for sleep - We did not even watch TV, and if I so, only the Egyptian Music channnel getting ready to enjoy the evening - we're on holiday.
Getting about - the hotel is very big, so at least they have provided the little buses. We never used them. As long as you are fit and healthy, walk. At the same time you can look at all the
lovely plants and flowers, the wonderful views and get some excercise. You are on holiday, so you have time!
The hotel is classed as 5 star, and in most European countries this would not be the case - but I think the views, weather, beach, sea and of course the staff -which are always pleasant and friendly, especially in the hard times that Egypt is going through at the moment, can be classed as 5 star? All encluvise, again, would be different in other counties. You can only go to those places specifically to which hotel you have booked - there are different ones within Coral Bay, so not everywhere applies. Just make sure you find this out in the beginning.
As I said at the begining - we had a good time once again, and will go back again soon. Maybe it's all down to attitude and acceptance and just getting on and having a good time !!!
Thanks again Mohammed Fathi for taking care of us at the Oasis :-)

Room Tip: All rooms are good - block 43 is nearer to most facilities. I prefer not to be on the ground floor...

This hotel is horrible with no customer service education especially the guy Mina that thinks he's all that caz he wears a suit and basically almost kicked us out of the hotel.. The greeters are rude and the receptionist are horrible.. I booked an online deal only to come find out that i can't book using that deal since i had a few Egyptian friends with me. They forced us to book the Egyptian rate although their policy doesn't state that the rate is only for foreigners. The rooms are shaggy with mold all over the bathroom and not enough towels. I spoke to the manager that is in charge of reservations and he barely spoke english and didn't seem to care since we aren't "italian guests" a bit prejudice i would say. Now after all the hassle we went to eat at the buffet which we hoped would turn out good since it's supposedly and "italian hotel" and man was that food horrible. The chicken was dry as hell and the bread was stale. The only thing i would give some points to is the beach which was pretty descent but other than that i wouldn't go there again if my life depended on it.

I'm so disappointed with my holiday at this hotel. The food was awful, the same stuff every day and the 'hot' food was never piping hot. Eating in the main restaurant felt more like eating a school dinner in a grubby school hall, than a restaurant - it was noisy, dirty and generally run down. The reception staff were incredibly rude and would think nothing of answering the telephone halfway through serving you. The choice of all inclusive bars is limited to just the one in the evening, and this is very far away from any entertainment. The entertainment was poor and there was no entertainment laid on for all inclusive guests. This place felt more like a prison than a hotel. This is the first negative review that I've put on trip advisor but I feel so strongly about it that I have to warn others.

We are 3 days into a weeks holiday here and are disappointed with this hotel. To begin with, our travel agent sold us the hotel as being the Domina's King Lake Resort (no.40 or so on trip advisor reviews), however, it turned out that the booking was at the Domina Oasis Hotel and Resort (around no 105!) - part of the same complex.

This is my first time in Egypt and people had warned me that the hotel rating system wasn't the same as in Europe. Despite this, I am very dissapointed with this hotel and would say it is more like a 2/3 star hotel by european standards. The Domina Oasis is very far away from the main restaurant (the only one where you can eat on all inclusive) and you have to get a Taff Taff (free shuttle bus) to reception where you then have to walk to the restaurant. We stayed all inclusive and we had to eat in 1 restaurant, despite the resort having many restaurants for other guests. The food in the Coral restaurant was mediocre with a very limited selection, and very similar stuff every day.

There were 5 all inclusive pool bars for us to use, most only open until sunset. They serve light snacks in the afternoon. Very frustratingly, the pool bar next to our room/pool didn't serve any snacks in the afternoon (to get a snack involved getting on a 'tuff tuff' to get to another pool bar - crazy!)

The entertainment was poor and you couldn't get any drinks on all inclusive whilst the entertainment was on (as the all inclusive drinks were in a different bar). We tried to take our drinks into the venue whilst the entertainment was taking place and we were asked to finish our drinks and leave.

The staff cleaning the room every day are excellent and do a great job. As it is our anniversary, they put rose petals on the bed and made a heart shape from the towels. These little touches are really nice, but it's just a shame that the other points mentioned above really let this hotel down. The room was pretty shabby and the cupboard to the fridge was hanging off when opened, TV fuzzy and only in black and white and electrical wires exposed on some plugs! The prices inside the hotel are very high compared with outside (for example the supermarket inside charges over £10 sterling for sun cream).

Although this hotel appears to be predominantly for Italian and Russian people, all employees and traders speak excellent english. This is a little bit of Paradise on earth, and the Entertainment and Animation Team, make it a holiday to remember, I will definately be going back to this resort as soon as I can get time off. The room was well presented, and clean and I'm a picky eater, but found something appealing at every meal time. I can't understand why this isn't a regular spot for more 'Brits'. Loved it!

so...i just came back from Domina....and guess what i did? i booked my may holidays strait away. it will be my 4th time there. this time i will go for 5 weeks....I always stay in Oasis. rooms are perfect size, all have lovely balcony. all necessary equipment is there. cleaned every day as rule. but Domina is not about staying in the room. when i was spending time in i felt like i was missing out. because there is so much happening in hotel. animation guys are very friendly and so energetic that you think how do they do it? haha evening shows in the arena are simply magical. i was lucky enough this time to see Miss Domina 2013 show. mamma mia....what a show. and after-party in Stargate club was the best ever. smaila's club reopened again as well. such an atmosphere.
reception and guest relation staff is very helpful and polite. I'm sure you won't have any problems there but if you do ask for Tatiana or Yelena from guest relation. they are the best.
