If you know what to expect you won't be disapointed, Lots of italian and russians. Do not feel intimidated by the locals if you venture out, do not tell them it is your first time in Egypt, just say no thanks i've heard it all before and keep walking. We chose this hotel for its location, Fantasia across the road which is great at night relax and watch the show, the aqua park turn left and 10 mins walk, Naama bay short taxi ride and the old market a short taxi ride and also great at night. Great snorkling. Good standards just take it easy the first few days and don't over indulge. March or October i find is the best times to visit.

Be careful booking for a hotel with this chain!
We have paid for a holiday to reef oasis palms and have had our holiday cancelled because the hotel is closing early for major works. We have lost our deposit! Beware booking here as theres obviously problems and whatever you do never use a company called sunmaster travel!

Well The sun sea and sand are fab the house reef (the temple) is a nice dive, the place on the hole is ok

BUT we were in the 700's and there was building work less than 10m from are window, the vibrations from the large plant was prity bad.

BUT BUT on day 3 of are stay my girl friend started to come down with a bug and within 24 hours i was the same ,and for all you going i must say this is no ordinary bug it layed me out for 2 days there, and it was a nightmare getting home to say the least we got back on the thursday night my girlfriend went to the Dr's on the friday morning and took a sample , its sunday now and we'r still no better ,and we'v started to pass blood ,shakes, stomach cramps ,dizzyness,

I would not now dare to ever go back there even though there were good things

To say it cost well over £1000 for stay flights etc.. 2 days travel 2 days in bed and a lot of pain it just was'nt worth it

Went to reef oasis on recommendation of a friend and we are so glad we did. Read a review saying there was some building work going on near entrance and there certainly is, a new aqua park within reef grounds. We were put in the 900 block and thought great just what we wanted but woke to find we were close to building work ( 30ft to rear of apartment)
We was told on check in that we could be moved but we decided to stay put as as true brits & put up with the noise lol. It wasnt that bad HONEST.

The rooms were cleaned every day and also clean towels and beach towels every day and the cleaner really could not do any more for us the rooms were spotless. There was a wide range of food to choose from and most of it is cooked from fresh in front of you so find it sad to read reviews that say food is not that good !

The resort was clean and staff very very helpful indeed just be polite to them and they will be back to you as well which in my view is fare enough.

We did venture out of resort to the shopping area just a 5 min walk near entrance and it was ok we didnt get that much hassle not like naama bay take a look it is very impressive.
We did go into naama bay to visit the Hard Rock Cafe that is great fun but sort your taxi fare out before you get in.

We went in a party of 7.- 6 adults 1 kid (10) and cannot fault this holiday in any way shape or form, the pools were not over crowded every one friendly. Go there you will love it.

If your kids like playing footy or genarally mucking about the garden workers will spend more time playing with the kids than actually working they were great fun and love water fights.

Tipping goes a long way and doesnt cost you a lot, they like £ coins and will ask you when they have enough of them to change them into notes but dont let the bosses see you tip them.

We have been back to Reef for the past 4 years!! How sad I used to think going to the same place every year, but now I am converted. We go for 2 weeks every easter for sun and diving. You can not beat this hotel service and location.

It is true that the beach gets very crowded and you do need to be an early bird to get a FRONT ROW SEAT but in general now they have extended the beach most people got a spot. The beach guys are just fab make sure you speak to abdel and ask him to play rummy!!!

The food is great but we always avoid the washed salads and have never had a tummy upset. (family of 4 with 2 9yr olds).

I would not go any later than may as it would be just toooooo hot! but jan-march is lovely.

Will be back next year and meet up with all our friends who we have met at reef who go at the same time too. This place is probably one of the best kept secrets in sharm. Go but dont tell your friends!!!

We've just come back from a really nice stay at the Reef Oasis. Hope this information helps you:

Rooms:
When we arrived we were first given a room in the 800 block. When we saw the room it looked a bit shabby and there were two very small double beds for the 3 of us. The porter said that he would move the two beds together for my husband and I and get a camp bed for my son. When it was all set up everything was very crowded. I complained (nicely) to the reception staff and they offered us a room in the 1000 block. I was told that the rooms were newly built but that they were near the construction works. We were happy to take the alternative room which was made up of two large modern rooms - one with a super kingsize bed and the other with two singles. The room faced onto 3 attractive pools. We were never bothered by the construction works - they did not start work before 8.30am and by then we were already heading out for breakfast and the beach. Note: There are mosquitos around so remember to bring a fly swat and mosquito repellent ( the hotel shop sells plug in repellents).

Food:
We were very impressed with the catering. The food was of a very high standard and with plenty of variety. We found that the main restaurant had the largest selection in the evening although it does get quite crowded and there is always a rush when it opens. We always went to the Grill restaurant for breakfast because it was light and airy and had a nice sea view. At lunchtimes, the cafe on the beach provides good snacks (fresh pizza, salad, fish, chicken, burgers) if you do not want to go inside. It also sells ice cream - you have to pay for this but you can charge it to your room rather than bringing money to the beach. We also went to the Italian restaurant a couple of times for dinner. The selection is not as large as the main restaurant but it does have a more relaxing atmosphere and the food is really tasty.

Beach:
We found that if you want to get a lounger on the beach you do have to come down by 8am - or before 7.30am if you want to be under an umbrella (everyone likes to reserve their seats with their towels!). Around lunchtime more seats become free. The sandy beach is very nice and safe and there is an area sectioned off for swimming (without coral). The water was nice and warm. I specifically chose the Reef Oasis for the snorkelling - a pontoon leads you directly to the Temple reef. The fish were beautiful and there were so many different species to spot. We did not take any snorkelling excursions as it was so good there. A few scuba excursion boats moor up close by but they do not cross over into the hotel's 'private' area so there is plenty of space to snorkell in peace. Also, remember to go down the pontoon at night time to see the Lion fish as they don't seem to come out in the day.

General:
- The complex is spacious, very well landscaped and clean.
- Staff are friendly and always willing to help.
- Entertainment is mainly in Italian and very cheesy, but who cares!
- There is an international kids club (free) which has a two hour session in the morning and afternoon.
- We found that the hotel accepts Euro's and Stirling as well as Egyptian pounds. You do get a slightly better rate if you pay in Euro's.
- Remember to buy your snacks at the hotel before you go back to the airport - we ended up paying £3 for a lolly for our boy!

We would definately recommend this hotel and will return again.

We have just returned from a brilliant week (not long enough) at this hotel. There was 3 children with us age 2, 9, 10years and six adults from age 25yrs to 60yrs everyone of us loved it and all said we would love to go back to the Reef.
I was concerned about the constrution work before I went and through reading reviews I requested rooms in the 200 blocks but when we arrived we were given rooms 1110, 1112 and 1114 I was horrified at first because I had been told these were by the constuction. The reception asked us to go and look at the rooms and if we still found it a problem that they would change them for us.
I am so glad that we didn't change are rooms because they were lovely they were fairly new and quite large my son, partner & 2 children stayed in 1114 and they had 1 kingsize bed a dividing arch and 2 single beds it was ideal. there was work going on nearby but it did not interfere with our holiday in any way.
Also my 2 daughters got an upset tummy while they were there but I just went to the guest relations in the reception area and they phoned a doctor at the local pharmacy (all pharmacies in Egypt have doctors) you tell them your syptoms and they will recommend and send tablets to the hotel. It cleared everything up in a couple of hours. You dont pay for the advise and tablets are cheaper than here.
I must also add what other reviewers have said about the staff they are very friendly and gave an excellent service. It is worth it to tip them. all in all I would recomend this resort to anyone.
