Stayed 06 feb to 16 feb 2014, 10 nights as a couple £637 each from Gatwick. Bargain! Read generally good reviews before booking, but, a couple of bad ones which on returning home seem very unjust.

We observed a very good team, from the always on show management if you needed them, to very attentative staff in all departments. The only negative was the over attentive "spa sales" team.

The Entertainment team, did just that! They have masses going for all ages all day long, some of it is done around the activity pool, or if you want just to be quiet you can use the relax pool. Negative of the pools are the minimum depth is 145cm. The hotel is very well designed, everything on hand, not noisy, music contained in the evenings, always a good quiets night sleep, but, very good entertainment every night.

The bars, cafe, restaurants are very good. Resort has 3 a la carte, only did one which was lovely, but, main restaurant was so good and had so much choice always ate there. Never had any stomach upset,

Had a room overlooking the quiet pool, always clean, well furnished, comfortable with good Egyptian Linen.

Immaculate Gardens!

The beach is great, loads of sunbeds, bar, toilets, changing facility, pier for snorkelling, loads of fish can be seen off pier if you don't snorkel. DO NOT FEED THE FISH!

The only thing that lets the hotel down are some of the guests! There is no need to put your towel out first thing in the morning! Wash your hands! DO NOT FEED THE FISH!!!!!!!!

Sharm airport on arrival was absolute chaos, lots of flights arriving at the same time, no real system in place to process people through and it ended up as a free for all, only 3 egyptian agents processing arrivals, too much red tape! Went into the toilets on the way home, (disgusting at best) and thats just the gents, the toilet attendant would have made a good statue outside, standing round doing nothing. Sharm Airport needs to pull its socks up, its putting people off and costing Egypt business!

Thomson service very good as always and Travco reps very helpful.

Overall, would definately recommend "club magic life", something for everyone. Don't be put off by the few negative reviews, unless you are naturally miserable you will I promise you have a fantastic holiday!

Room Tip: block 21 overlooks the quiet pool

Just returned from 7 day holiday (9-16 Feb) and had a truly wonderful week. There are so many plus points for this hotel and only negative is bit picky. On the positives are: the staff (all so friendly and helpful), the food (great choice and very nice - buffet & a la cartes, and a different nightly theme), the drink (good selection and very drinkable - hic!), nightly entertainment, cleanliness of complex, gardens, pools, sunbeds and a wonderful beach location with 600 sunbeds!!! Only negative would be that although the rooms are roomy and well looked after they are a bit outdated now for the star rating - HOWEVER, didn't need to spend much time in room so wasn't a real concern. We had been to Sharm 3 years ago and got the dreaded tummy bug however no sign of that this year due to hotel cleanliness, quality of food & drink - oh and endless supply of bottled water. Would I recommend this hotel - YES, WITHOUT A DOUBT. Will I go back - certainly hope to !

Room Tip: I would ask for room nearer beach than pools. If you want a camel ride use ones on beach but agree...

Just had a fabulous one week break to celebrate my 50th birthday. Could not fault the hotel. Room was spotlessly cleaned every day. Food was that good that I have put on 5lb - but it was worth every bite. The Mai Thai restaurant is well worth a visit. Staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. They created a very relaxed ambiance and made you feel special. Staff throughout the hotel could not do enough for you. Pool was clean and as it was a little windy, they had windbreakers on the beach. It gets a little chilly on a night time so take warm clothing. Blankets were given out by the hotel as you watched the outside entertainment. Cocktails are a must with plenty to choose from. If you show an interest in the services from the massage staff, they are open to a little negotiation so don't accept first price they offer. They might do you a deal if the Centre is not very busy. Will definitely revisit this hotel in the near future.

Room Tip: We were in Block 18 which was quite central for the restaurant, beach and activity pool.

Stayed here from 30th Jan to 6th Feb 2014 - one week was not enough!

Having read the wildly varying reviews on Club Magic Life, Sharm el Sheikh, we were really not sure what to expect.  There seem to be a lot of people who have expressed disappointment that this isn't a 5* hotel but it is important to understand there is a difference in the quality of hotel you get in Egypt where a 5* rated hotel is equivalent to a 4* elsewhere in the world.  This is, in my well-travelled opinion, a good 4* hotel.

We had a lovely junior suite on the top floor of Block 14 overlooking the gardens - it was bright and comfortable with a massive, sunny balcony. The decor and fixtures were absolutely fine and typically Egyptian - if you want a boring, bland hotel room that could be anywhere in the world, go and stay somewhere else!  Above everything, the hotel was spotlessly clean and well-maintained throughout and I simply cannot understand how anybody could be remotely critical of it.  The gardens were superbly kept, with hardly a blade of grass out of place - we were amazed at how perfect they looked all the time.U

The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we had no problems with any of the service we received. Small denomination local currency is almost impossible to get hold of so I recommend taking loads of pound coins for tips.  The staff seem quite happy to change them up for notes if you need to as they can't exchange coins in the banks.

We're not big drinkers but found the cocktails were great and the house white served in the Magico restaurant was very drinkable. We found wine by the glass in the bars could be a bit varyable for our tastes. However, the 'Omar Kayyam' Egyptian wine served by the bottle was excellent - when we said we couldn't drink a second bottle the staff were happy to bring us a half bottle.

The food was excellent throughout the holiday with something for everyone.  In fact, we were quite disappointed when we realised that we wouldn't be eating in Magico for the last three nights of the holiday.  We ate in all three of the a la carte restaurants and our favourite was Sofra where the Egyptian bread and dips were absolutely delicious.  The other restaurants were also excellent and well worth taking the trouble to book. It wasn't really any trouble to be honest and we had no problem getting a booking for the evenings we wanted.  In fact, the only time we had to queue was for a couple of minutes when booking Mai Tai for Saturday night.

We were quite careful about avoiding the ice and only drinking/cleaning our teeth using the plentiful and readily available bottled water and had no upset tummies which is amazing for Egypt.  If you do get a problem, don't rely on UK anti-diarrhoea remedies, go to the pharmacy and ask for Antinal.

We're not big sunbathers but we found there were plenty of sun beds available around  the pools. The activity pool could get a bit noisy when they were playing games around lunchtime but it didn't tend to last very long.  I agree with the comments about the depth of the pool as my wife is not very tall and found she could not comfortably touch the bottom and keep her head above the water. The water temperature was a bit cool but fine once you were in. Although we're not really into 'activity' holidays, we had some great fun playing table tennis and enjoyed an archery lesson with the ever-patient Osama.

If you're planning on diving, do not book in advance in the UK via Thomson.  Even though the hotel has a wonderful diving school, Thomson will book you in to the diving school they own, based about half an hour away in Sharm el Sheikh which is more expensive and less convenient. When booking our holiday we'd specified that we wanted a hotel with a diving school on site so we booked our diving course in the UK.  When we visited the diving school on our first day we were really disappointed to find that we hadn't been booked with them.  However, the Thomson reps were incredibly helpful and quickly sorted this out for us so we booked ourselves for a scuba diving course the following day with Magic Divers.  The team there were absolutely brilliant and we wouldn't have got through our scuba diving course without Phil's patience and excellent tuition.

To summarise, we're both pretty picky about hotels and spent the whole week trying to find something to criticise about the hotel but found nothing!  We're already planning our next trip - I'd go back to this hotel tomorrow if I could!

I consider myself well travelled and quite discerning (picky) and had realistic expectations of this package holiday hotel. But I was SO pleasantly surprised. Everything was perfect. The hotel itself, the delightful manicured gardens, the staff, the food were all 5*. And SUCH good vfm. I stayed for a week (wish I'd booked for 2). I didn't leave the hotel as there's not much to leave it for. The food especially was a big and wonderful surprise. The buffet breakfast and lunches were outstanding. Evening meals were perhaps more variable but with such a huge selection there's something for everyone (vegetarians be aware that they don't mark out veggie food and some of the salads are difficult to decipher in this respect so a chef has to be asked). The A La Carte restaurants were of a very high standard (visit each of the 3 each week within your package). I asked to be moved from a ground floor room and the staff offered to show me round a selection of available rooms. My 3rd floor sea view room was all one could want. And all of this for less than £600. Thank you Club Magic. Thank you Thomsons. And I am independent. Just evangelical.

Room Tip: No sea view from most ground floor rooms

This was our first visit to Egypt and wow the hotel and service was excellent ! The hotel is right on the beach with its own sun loungers and bar. There are 2 swimming pools 1 is the relax pool, nice and quiet and the other has daily activities if you want to join in. The food was lovely a Great selection and the drinks especially the cocktails were wonderful. During the day there are freshly made snacks and rolls. The room has a safe, hairdryer and a mini fridge which is great for cold drinks in the room. The entertainment was ok music and dancing but the staff were first class especially Ahmed and Mohammed in the outside bar always making sure your drink was full. Plenty of bars and a great coffee and cake cafe in the tower which was open till late. Very warm during the day cold at night as still winter but if you are sitting outside the staff gave you a cosy rug to keep warm. sun goes down about 4ish. The best hotel we have been to so far and would gladly recommend.
