We were at Club Magic Life from 23 December to 6 January. The gala dinners held on Christmas Eve and Hogmanay were absolutely fantastic with stunning displays of food. The attention to detail and presentation of the food was magnificent. The firework display on Hogmanay was great although a bit close for comfort within the lobby terrace with sparks landing on top of us. Health and safety isn’t to the same standards as we have at home!

We dined in all three a la carte restaurants twice and thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. It was nice to have dinner served to us rather than the help yourself buffet in the main restaurant.

The coffee shop in the Tower is a must for cake lovers. They serve a chocolate cake that isn’t too sickly and my husband enjoyed the cheesecake most days too.

The hotel itself is definitely not a 5 star going by British standards however, the staff and facilities are very good. Our room was on the top floor of block 22 and we had a great view of the relax pool. The fixtures and fittings in the room are dated and tired and could do with a major refurb. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well every night. Our shower wasn’t very powerful, but we put that down to us being on the top floor. The air conditioner/heater was extremely noisy so thankfully it wasn’t needed during the night due to low temperatures at this time of year. I expect that in the summer time when it would be required all day, it would pose a bit of a nuisance. We had fresh towels every day and the guy who cleaned our room left some lovely towel art for us throughout the holiday.

As others have said, due to the time of year, the sun didn’t reach all parts of the relax pool so it was a bit of a pain to have to get up early to secure sunbeds in a good spot. On saying that, as the day wore on, guests in the shade just dragged their sunbeds into a sunny spot so that they could get the most of the sun before it went down behind the buildings at 4pm.

We didn’t have any massages or spa treatments and although we were approached within 15 mins of sitting at the pool on the first day, we found that by giving a firm no, we weren’t bothered again for the rest of the holiday.

We were fortunate not to be bitten by mosquitoes, but they were very much in evidence as quite a few people had upwards of 50 bites on their legs, some of which looked really nasty. Neither of us had tummy upsets either which was something I worried about.

All in all, a good holiday, but I don’t think I would return to this hotel any time soon as I think there are probably better fitted out hotels in Sharm.

Room Tip: Block 22 overlooked the relax pool

Just returned from a week long break here and loved every second of it; this hotel thoroughly deserves all the excellent reviews on here. Everything about the hotel is brilliant, we had a perfect, relaxing week. The food is gorgeous - there was something for everyone. Most of the meats are freshly cooked in front of you, there was such a wide range on offer and it was the best all inclusive food we've had anywhere. We only went to the Egyptian and Thai restaurants and highly recommend those too. Equally impressive cocktails too! The main pool area is massive with plenty of sunloungers. We preferred the Relax Pool as it was quiter but chose to swim in the other pool as it was warmer. Special mention to Mohamed Ibrahim, Senior Bar Waiter and also Omar in Eagles bar - both an absolute pleasure to meet and couldn't have done enough for us. Will definitely return.

Room Tip: We were in block 22 which is right next to the relax pool and close to Eagles bar

we spent the festive season here Christmas and new year. this hotel was recommended to us as we had our holiday to Taba cancelled it fell short of being a five star the room we had was dark and cold and the furniture was dark brown and scratched the folding doors to the shower would not close properly and the fan was very noisy. I was not able to access the swimming pools as I am a non swimmer and five foot two the pools did not have a shallow end. the festive gala dinners were superb but new years eve was spoilt by one of the chefs pushing past the guests with a large group of friends and blocking the view of the show the gardens were beautiful apart from the flower beds under the hotel frontage more like scrubland not a good look the staff were nice and friendly I would not visit this hotel again I have been in better 3 star.

landed on 2nd Jan and after a quick check in we headed to the restaurant for our evening meal an were surprised by the range and quality of food. We then went to one of the bars for a few drinks and then to bed and an excellent nights sleep after 20hrs on the move. Every day after that it was eat, walk, beach, eat, beach, coffee, dine, relax and a few drinks. before bed. The staff all over the complex were very friendly and helpful and the rep on site was very pleasant. We have been in Sharma before but this has been the best and we would have no problem retuning to Club Magic again. There is food at every sitting that would appeal to all tastes, the drink is good, even a bar open all night (for those that could stand the pace), and three excellent restaurants where you are waited on like in a 5 star establishment at home. All in all a wonderful holiday

Just returned from a weeks winter break fantastic.......although rated 5* more like a 4*......Do not let this put you off, great standard just without everyone suited and booted.

Overall the holiday was brilliant, the weather was great considering the time of year but night time does get really cold, blankets and coats are welcomed..... this is no exaggeration. The entertainment team are fantastic they work very hard trying to keep the guests happy, providing an extensive entertainment programme running from 09:00 - 00:30, evening entertainment varies from staged shows which are put on by the animation team (I know what your thinking, the magic life entertainers are not like the typical Thompson reps they are professionals who put on professional dance shows including 2 acrobats which are part of the team).

Food and Drink
The food is brilliant providing lots of choice even for the fussy ones, we aren't talking chicken nuggets and burgers but beef wellington and spit roast chicken, although pizza and chips is available for the less adventurous. The Magico restaurant provides a wide selection off food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with each evening hosting a different theme. During the day if you don't fancy the main restaurant you can get toasted sandwiches from both pool and beach bars alongside the snack bar near the beach. We only visited 2 of the al a cart restaurants, the Egyptian and the Tai, both were exceptional....if you are fussy I would recommend you try them if you don't like it you can always go to the main restaurant after.

There is a vast variety of drinks from alcoholic cocktails to non alcoholic cocktails, also a large selection of coffees and coffee syrups. Water is in great supply in small bottles.

The cleanliness of the hotel is to a high standard with the public areas being constantly cleaned, the rooms are also cleaned to a high standard. No sticky tables or chairs. The grounds are well kept by a team of hard working gardeners, its like a tropical island when you compare to outside the hotel, lots of palm trees and cacti.....Beautiful.

Management are constantly visible and interacting with guests even the GM which is nice to see, nothing is too much of a problem for them.

The only negatives which we found was the nature and mannerism of some of the other guests especially the Russians ...Rude! There was a lot of Russian guests during our weeks holiday, but this was down to it being their Christmas 6th January. Waiters are friendly but bar staff are hit and miss especially if you are female ordering alcohol.

TIP - Make sure you go snorkelling off the jetty, even if your not a strong swimmer you can get a life vest, what you will see is out of this world.

I am already looking to go back to this hotel later in the year when the weathers warmer. A big thank you to all for our magical stay especially Serhat assistant training Manager. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Room Tip: Block 18 is centrally located and take a jacket for the evening a pair of trousers also. With tippin...
