“Fabulous!!”
Reviewed December 23, 2013

Well what can I say.... Great hotel, great staff, great food! Not a single thing to complain about!! S-Class is definitely worth every penny, we enjoyed good food/drink in the hotel and out on SOHO square, delicious and good quality! It was my partners birthday while we were there and they put balloons in the room with a card, and then sent a birthday cake later! All staff very pleasant and helpful, nothing was too much to ask! Was abit anxious about Egypt before we went, and now I can't imagine why, we saw no effect of the problems elsewhere! I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling go Egypt! Very clean, no need to handle money!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for the “Fabulous’” words. We are delighted that you chose our hotel for such a special occasion and we are very proud that the SAVOY Hotel met your expectations with all the facilities and services provided.

We are delighted that you enjoyed the restaurants here in the Savoy and just a short stroll away in Soho Square. It makes a huge difference to be able to have such choices every night and that’s why our unique S-Class ultra all-inclusive is so popular and such a good deal.

As you found out for yourself, there is absolutely no need to be apprehensive or anxious about coming to Sharm El Sheikh. The unrest that Egypt has experienced in recent times has not been anywhere near Sharm and we have a lot of security here to look after the tourism industry which is so necessary for Egypt’s recovery, but you will hardly notice it.

We very much appreciate your comments and will look forward to your next visit.

Kind regards,

Jacques PETER

Instead of writing a review when I get back home I thought I'd write this from my sun lounger at 10am in shorts sunbathing (32 degrees) on Monday 22nd December 2013.

It's a shame the revolution in Cairo has had an effect on the travel industry (reduced visitors) in Sharm el Sheikh which is so far away from the in-house dispute that doesn't affect Westerners in anyway, in fact hard working staff have become even more over friendly to keep us coming back.

The Savoy is by far the best 5 star (that's English 5 Star) in Sharm (IMHO)...!!!!

It's set in the heart of Soho square in Sharks bay which makes it also the best located hotel too.

The reception offers a quick check in with bags being delivered to your room 5 mins after one of the lovely guest relation staff shows you to your room (4106) is our room of choice for view & top pool.

Although it's a large hotel it does feel very personal with everyone happy in there roles to make it a really enjoyable holiday.

This is another point I'd like to mention to guests staying at the Savoy, please let the luggage guys, waiters, bar staff etc do things for you (THEY WANT TOO....!!!) they do not expect tips every-time they do something for you & do not get the hump or treat you different if you don't tip, just smile & say thank you.
If at the end of your stay or if you want some extra help then tip the individual who deserves it.
I've seen a few people carry towels & drinks panicking that have to tip (English culture I guess).

This is my second time at the Savoy this year & can't think of anywhere else I would want to be at Christmas for atmosphere. The Christmas background music by the pool, the lights & music at night in the hotel & Soho square does give it that Christmas feel.

It's a little colder at night so I do suggest a jumper or light jacket if sitting outside listening to the evening entertainment.

The All Inclusive S-Class as mentioned many times on trip advisor is a must.
The restaurants outside the hotel are just as good as the hotels (Hot Rock, Italian etc) & makes it more interesting at diner times to walk outside the hotel complex (Indian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, French steak house all excellent).

The Ice Rink, Bowling Alley, Queen Vic pub (football on screens, darts & pool), cinema (cultural film), Ice Bar, Pangeea nightclub has something for everyone in a 5 star environment.

Shopping in Soho is a joy compared to Naama bay without the hassle although slightly more expensive.

The spa is always fantastic & you get a free 25min massage with the S-Class (certain times only) but they are so good you end up booking another straight after.

Wifi is a little hit & miss around the pool & lobby ($5 to $15), this time I bought a SIM card from the Vodafone shop for my iPad (200le about £20 for 7 Gb which lasts a month) great for contacting the family at Christmas & excellent reception. Works with phones to but must not be locked to a single network (O2, orange, EE, Vodafone etc).

I didn't use the hotel dive centre (so can't comment) as I always use the same one I've used for years Elite Diving that pick up from the Savoy.

A fantastic hotel with ultra clean surroundings, fab food & drinks, the Savoy is a great Winter & Summer destination I would recommend for family's, couples & singles.

Dear Guest,

We very much appreciate you taking the time to write this “fantastic” and comprehensive review (even if it was at 32 degrees on a sunlounger). It is so important for us to get the message out to those people who may be a little reluctant to take a holiday in Sharm. The more guests we have writing positive things about security in Sharm, the better.

Your comments about our staff are also welcome and absolutely spot-on. They do an excellent job here and they love the interaction with the guests. It improves their language skills and makes each day different. They don’t work for tips and they don’t expect tips but if they provide you with excellent service…it’s up to you.

Thank you for choosing the Savoy again and we do hope to see you next year. In the meantime, on behalf of all the staff here at the Savoy Group, may I take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and a wonderful, prosperous New Year.

Kind regards,

Jacques PETER

Dear Guest,

Thank you for the kind words. It’s lovely to hear that you really enjoyed your holiday with us and we are very pleased that you have highlighted some of the staff for specific praise even though you say that all the staff are a credit to us. Lots of training, lots of attention to detail and then some more training all combined with top quality facilities for our staff, mean they get the best out of the Savoy and they will put the best back into it.We are delighted that you enjoyed our restaurants in the hotel and in Soho Square.

The S-Class all inclusive which you mentioned means that you can choose from any of our 14 à la carte restaurants in the Savoy and Soho Square. They include L’Entrecôte (the fabulous Steakhouse), Italian, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Egyptian, Mediterranean, Japanese Teppanyaki and Sushi, the Mandarin Bistro, the Hot Rock restaurant, the Seafood restaurant, Morgana and Eest offering pan-Asian cuisine. Add a whole host of bars and lots of extras as you mentioned with some of the best service to be found in Sharm and you’re spoilt for choice. We believe there is nothing like this in the whole of the Middle East.

We very much appreciate your comments and will look forward to ensuring your next visit is perfect in every way.
Kind regards,

This is the only hotel for us in Egypt. Everything you need for a wonderful holiday is right there within the complex. We ate in nearly all of the restaurants and every one was fantastic. The service throughout is faultless, we were waited on hand and foot, but beware, you will come away with delusions of grandeur! I would say the rooms could do with updating in the not too distant future but our room was clean and well presented. The snorkelling just off the pontoon was breathtaking and there is no shortage of things to do. We cant wait to come back. See you in 2014!

Dear Reviewer,

Good Day from a peaceful and safe Sharm El Sheikh

Thank you for the “wonderful” review. It’s lovely to hear that you really enjoyed your time with us. If you want fantastic and varied food, excellent service (with a smile) and all in a beautiful location, then this is the place to be.

The Savoy has earned a reputation second to none for outstanding quality and service. Every feature has been designed to enhance our guests' experience. The Savoy embodies the highest traditional values, with exceptional restaurants, bars and entertainment. Spread over 200,000 m² of lush tropical foliage, waterfalls and serene surroundings, the Savoy lies at the heart of the spectacular White Knight Beach on the Red Sea in the South Sinai Peninsula of Egypt. The area is renowned for its natural beauty with a rich variety of flora and fauna, desert and majestic mountains. The hotel is 8 km from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport and in front of SOHO Square.

Your comment about rooms need updating . Unfortunately you do not give your room number and we have no way of checking that particular room but all our rooms are very spacious and furnished to the highest degree with high quality hardwood furniture and fixtures and fittings imported from Italy, Germany, USA and numerous other places. No expense was spared in the designing and furnishing of these rooms. And you are right, we are indeed in the process of refurbishing our rooms and many have already been completed.

Thank you for choosing the Savoy and please tell all your friends how safe and sound we are here in sunny Sharm El Sheikh.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Kind regards,

Jacques PETER

Dear Aly & Sara ,

Congratulations to you both on your wedding and may you have a wonderful and happy life together. We are delighted that you chose the Savoy for your honeymoon and it’s lovely to hear that you really enjoyed your holiday with us. And we are still as calm and relaxed as ever, despite anything that’s going on hundreds of miles away.

We do have an amazing location for our resort. Set on beautiful White Knight Beach with its spectacular coral and marine life, it offers divers and snorkelers an incredible, unforgettable experience. As you said, we are also close to so many of the attractions in South Sinai and can offer approved and trusted excursions through our concierge.

But arguably our greatest asset is our staff. They are well trained and they love the nice things that people say about them. They work hard at their jobs and they know that our guests expect and deserve the best and so that’s what they give time and time again – their best.

We do hope that you will return soon and enjoy the beautiful sunny resort at the Savoy once more. Perhaps we’ll see you here to celebrate your first anniversary?

Kind regards,

Jacques PETER

Dear Guest,

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your 7th time at the Savoy. A lot of people say that there is a kind of magical magnetism that draws them back every year. I don’t know what it is but I’m sure it has something to do with the sun, the sea, the location, the staff and the level of relaxation that is so hard to achieve anywhere else. Or perhaps it’s simply that we have a great fish restaurant by the beach!

Thank you for the lovely review and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
