This was our second trip to The Savoy, something that we have never done before but will repeat coming here ! The Savoy has ,within walking distance of a couple of minutes, access to a huge dining/entertainment/shopping/bars which I think it owns . It's called Soho Square and is unique in the whole of Sharm -El- Sheikh. It's unique because the only two entrances at each end are monitored and secure and it's like a mini-village that patrons from The Savoy can use the benefits of if they are all inclusive.Even though we had reports of "upset in Egypt " this Soho Square seemed a haven.
The hotel itself is " 5star " although like every hotel worldwide, you can pick faults but what makes this hotel an ideal holiday for us is the staff. From Farah and Tanya on the liaison desk,Mamdouh and the staff on the front reception, Heba and Dalia at breakfast and even Zidane and Tourkey at the pool and beach. These people deserve a mention because they all work damn hard to make your holiday the very best you can have.We have traveled to some of the best hotels around the world but you will not find one as attentive or safe as The Savoy.

Room Tip: The Hibiscus " block " seem to be the one but a seasoned traveler who lives in Egypt and u...

Dear Mr. Steve,

A lovely review and thank you for choosing the Savoy for a second time.

It is important for us to highlight that Sharm is a safe place for a holiday despite the unrest in Egypt and your review has helped us do just that. In addition, you have described Soho Square very well as being enclosed either end and a safe haven. It is frequented by visitors from other hotels in Sharm as well but the security is there more for peace of mind than anything else.

You commented on the quality of our service and we are very proud of our staff. They do a fantastic job, miles away from home and appreciate the smiles and compliments from our guests so very much.

Thank you for choosing the Savoy and please tell all your friends how safe and sound we are here in sunny Sharm El Sheikh.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Kind regards,

Jacques PETER

The hotel is really excellent. The services are costumer focus. A great beach complement the perfect landscape. The location is quite near to airport. Right now, in Egypt there's a important situation with strikers and protests but here the hotel has a strong security strategy for the guests.

I was here for AIESEC International Congress 2013 and had an amazing time - the only downside was the heat outside. I really have to mention the courtesy of all staff: never once an unfriendly face, let alone word.

This hotel was very comfortable, clean, equipped with good service and good food. A lot of trips which could be booked made our stay very nice. Now during the difficult times of Egypt not many tourists were residing in this place, it was really quiet. I would recommend it as a solid 4 star. hotel.

Dear Reviewer,

Good Day from Sharm El Sheikh – City of Peace & Tranquility

We welcome all reviews from our guests and are happy to respond to any constructive criticism openly on this forum. Our hotel is most definitely a 5* hotel in accordance with the criteria and guidelines of the Ministry of Tourism of Egypt and indeed will meet said criteria of any country you care to mention – worldwide.

Thank you for highlighting the professionalism of our staff. They do work hard to ensure o ur guests have the most relaxing time and a kind word from a guest often goes down so well – so we will pass your comments on and look forward to seeing you again soon.

There is no doubt that Egypt is going through a difficult period in its political history. As we speak, Sharm El Sheikh has not seen ANY unrest or trouble at all. We are more than 500 kilometres from Cairo and Sharm is a tourist resort with few real residents. The leaders are keen to protect Sharm’s tourism industry so they are increasing security around the area and ensuring that the tourists can get on with the important business of relaxing.

We monitor the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s website (on www.gov.uk and follow the travel links) which is currently showing an unchanged message depicting Sharm on the map as a “green” area as opposed to red and yellow areas in other parts of Egypt, so it’s business as usual here in the sun.

Again thank you for sharing your experience with us and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Regards,

Jacques PETER

We just came back from Savoy Sharm el Sheikh, We've stayed 7 nights in this wonderful resort, this is for sure the best resort in Sharm El Sheikh. We spent a great and amazing holiday there. We stayed at room number 4103.
Since we were S class guest, we got a complimentary airport transfers with top service (cold towels, bottle of water etc), it's really worth to pay the supplement for the VIP service and S class.
This hotel was beautiful, the rooms were very clean, they had a nice, clean, Lovely large pool, and the staff was very friendly and helpful! The hotel is located nearby Soho Square where you can find lots of choice restaurants and shopping. Beaches and water is great, perfect for snorkeling. Would recommend to anyone
Hotel has many of a la carte restaurants like Italian, Seafood, Chinese and more.
Food was very delicious everywhere. Service at all a la carte restaurant was very good
Entertainment: show at night was amazing. Spa: is wonderful, it has Jacuzzi, Steam room, and Sauna.
What could we say, everything was perfect, service is amazing.
The location of the hotel is excellent because it's 10 minutes away from the airport. Near the hotel there are shopping places, restaurants and a big market. I recommend this hotel for family's, couples, business men and friends.

Dear Mr. Sherif,

Good Day from a peaceful and safe Sharm El Sheikh.

We do appreciate your “Very Nice” review of the hotel and its facilities; The Savoy has earned a reputation second to none for outstanding quality and service. Every feature has been designed to enhance our guests' experience. The Savoy embodies the highest traditional values, with exceptional restaurants, bars and entertainment. Spread over 200,000 m² of lush tropical foliage, waterfalls and serene surroundings, the Savoy lies at the heart of the spectacular White Knight Beach on the Red Sea in the South Sinai Peninsula of Egypt. The area is renowned for its natural beauty with a rich variety of flora and fauna, desert and majestic mountains. The hotel is 8 km from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport and in front of SOHO Square.

Our S-Class ultra all inclusive plan is a unique concept in the area. This entitles you to eat and drink in any of our restaurants and bars throughout the Savoy and Soho Square. You will also benefit from free vouchers for the spa, bowling, (yes, we have a 6 lane ten-pin bowling alley behind the British pub) and Culturama – our panoramic cinematic history of Egypt. And Soho Square is a great entertainment centre to have on the doorstep. Restaurants to suit all budgets and shops to browse around, entertainment on every night. It’s a great place.

Thank you for the good comments about our colleagues’ service. We do work hard with our staff to ensure that they enjoy their job and this shows in the service they offer. Accordingly, the Savoy team spares no effort to ensure that all guests enjoy the same high-quality service.

Thank you for choosing the Savoy and please tell all your friends how safe and sound we are here in sunny Sharm El Sheikh.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Kind regards,

Jacques PETER

Hotel was actually better then we expected. Staff were friendly and the standard of the hotel was so much better compared to many other hotels in Sharm. Close enough to the airport yet you don't really here much from it. Location to the square is great as it gives you somewhere to go for the evening. Great ice cream at movenpick. We made good use of being on b&b and the voucher that gave us 20% discount on the restaurants in the square. Sampled a few of the options but we were not impressed with the Asian cuisine... One restaurant but four different menus... And not very tasty... However the little Mediterranean restaurant - Fusion 21 was actually very tasty and great value for money! We ate there most nights. One night we ventured to Nama bay. - don't bother - absolute dive.

The hotel pool and beach area are very nice, however, as much as it was nice not to be bothered by the pool men/ we did notice favouritism towards the older clientele! Obviously looking for tips etc - by bringing over their towels, cleaning their sun glasses, reserving sunbeds for them etc etc... Many younger couples around too but they also didn't revieve this treatment! Happy to be left to our own devices.

Overall, we would go back here for a winter break and keep on B&b basis.

Dear Reviewer,

Good Day from Sharm El Sheikh – City of Peace & Tranquility

Thank you for choosing the Savoy for your holiday and for taking the time to post it on Tripadvisor.
It’s good to know that the Bed & Breakfast meal plan was explained to you and that you enjoyed it. A little knowledge about the resort, its restaurants and facilities can really help you get the most out of your holiday. We offer several different packages, from B&B all the way up to our S-Class ultra all inclusive with the choice of 14 à la carte restaurants with eateries from around the globe. We’ve also got the only Ice bar in Africa, indoor ice rink, ten-pin bowling, squash and tennis courts, 2 night clubs, a concert stage and 100 quality shops just to name a few of Savoy Group’s facilities.
We are concerned to note your comments that you felt the pool staff were targeting older, more affluent guests to elicit tips. We are unaware of this but will pass your comments on to the Head of Department who will reinforce the Savoy’s policy of treating all guests with the same degree of respect and providing the same service to all, regardless of gender, culture, race, age etc. We sincerely hope that it did not detract from your enjoyment of your holiday.

The restaurant to which you refer as being one restaurant with four different menus is the Mandarin. It was set up as a casual dining area for those who wished to enjoy the food from our four fine-dining restaurants upstairs without having to conform to the dress code. So you could sit downstairs in shorts and sandals but still enjoy the exquisite dishes prepared by out ex-pat chefs. So yes, the four menus are from the Indian, Chinese, Thai and Egyptian restaurants. The Mandarin is very popular.

We believe that we are unique in offering such a broad variety of dining choices and delighted that you ‘discovered’ the Fusion 21 Mediterranean restaurant was the one for you.

Again thank you for sharing your experience with us and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Regards,

Jacques PETER

Currently staying at the Savoy with our 2 daughters in room 4120/4121 and we have been particularly impressed by the friendly and attentive staff. Having previously holidayed in sharm 5 Times before at various hotels we can honestly say that the savoy tops them all. A special mention must go to Mahmoud,Osama and the rest of the staff at the Safari bar and the pool attendant/lifeguard Mohamed el Hady who have made our holiday particularly special. Today our pool experience was not the same as we found Mohamed had been moved to another pool after being attendance for the first 7 days of our stay. This comment has been reiterated by several other families around the main pool today for example those staying in rooms 4102/4103 (Bobby Fowke). Management please bring him back. Our experience has not been the same without him. A full review will follow at the end of our holiday.

Dear Reviewer,

Good Day from the City of Peace & Tranquility

Thank you for the glowing review. We especially appreciate you saying that the Savoy tops all the other hotels you have stayed in.

Your kind words about our staff will be passed on to them and I am happy to say that, as a result of your request, we have put Mohamed back to the main pool. We do urge our guests to make their suggestions here in resort where we may be able to make some changes to accommodate their wishes and in this case, we were able to do so.

Thank you for choosing the Savoy and please tell all your friends how safe and sound we are here in sunny Sharm El Sheikh.
