just returned from 1 weeks stay at the savoy the hotel is overall a good standard the pools a clean . we stayed in a diplomatic suite 2 adults and 1 child with sea view and the view was marvelous. the beach was clean and tidy and plenty off sunbeds. we all felt safe and in Soho square you will find all you want for a night out weather be a quiet one or lively.it was our first stay in Egypt and will not be our last. if i had to have a moan about 1 thing it would be the waiter service by the pool some staff bend over backwards and some just don't want to know. but this will not stop us returning to the savoy.

Room Tip: go all inclusive if you do get pool view be careful as some rooms don't get the sun on balcony a...

This is our 5th trip to Sharm, and our most disappointing. We have always stayed in 5 star resorts. We only changed to the Savoy because friends of ours have stayed there last year and raved about value for money! The concept of the Savoy is great, but it does not live up to its expectations. The staff were rude and tended to ignore requests especially from female guests. The service was shocking with long waits for any service. Much quicker to get up and get it yourself! My daughter spilled her juice on the table and rather than the waiters cleaning it up, they gave her napkins to do it herself! Breakfast was poor, with omelettes made slap-dash! The gym was tiny with only a handful of machines for a massive resort, we were practically queing and fighting over which machines to use! The guys who cleaned the rooms never replaced towels, toilet rolls or soap! We had to ask for them when they came round for the tundown service in the evenings. We even resorted to leaving notes for the cleaners telling them what to do! The best part of the resort was Soho Square (outside the hotel) which offered good Indian and Thai food. Even if the resort was offered at half the price we paid, I will not be back! 5 star it is not! 4 star at best! Do not be fooled by their website. Unless u are staying at the Royal Savoy, the rooms are outdated. And you still end up eating the same food as everyone else. Don't get me started on the flies! If you are someone who relies on trip advisor to choose your holidays, do not stay here!

I booked the Savoy as I was going on holiday with most of my family and the future mother in law and my bride to be. After staying at the Sierra I thought we'd take it up a notch and treat everyone, and needless to say it was amazing. The choice was fantastic, and SOHO square was a welcome break from the hustle of Naama Bay. The staff were absolutely amazing and made us all feel so welcome and comfortable. We had such an amazing time we decided to have our wedding there, and have since booked everything for next years big week. The food was amazing, the rooms beautiful with amazing views.
the Savoy was just it's own little world within an amazing place that's sharm.
I can't praise the Savoy team enough and the fact the wedding is already partially planned proves how great everyone and everything was.

We even treated the parents to some time at the spa and they were very very happy and relaxed at the end of it. Simply fantastic

What an ansolutely amazing hotel, it is out of this world, the staff are lovely, restaurants are sooo 5 star, treated like royalty, lovely cocktails, proper bottles of wine with lunch an dinner, 13restautants to choose from, the Italian lovely, fish restaurant overlooks beach, food to die for. You must be all inclusive to feel the benefit of this great hotel.

I am surprised at the consistently high ratings for this hotel. It is good, no doubt, but it is not a 5 star resort. we had a very happy holiday in the sun but there are some definite let downs for the seasoned traveller.

The biggest assets are the people, the service is for the most part friendly and helpful - this hotel had by far the most attentive pool service in any hotel I've stayed at for example - but it wasn't all positive. On arrival we were checked into a room only accessible by stairs even though we had a child with a pushchair. The room didn't have a cot, as requested and double checked with the reception, and we then had to move rooms the following day to a room accessible by the lift, where again no cot was present. The chap at reception thought I was being difficult but I just wanted the room I had booked with the facilities I'd booked - simple.

The food at the hotel is mixed - we didn't dine at Soho Square, in the hotel only - highlight was the Italian, Rosmarino, consistently good, and the seafood restaurant by the beach was good at lunch time. The buffet, both for breakfast and dinner, was not up to scratch, it was basic. As an aside If you want the best buffet ever then go to Pangaea restaurant in the Gran Melia Palacio de Isora in Tenerife (also offered by Sensatori) it's great! The Rocky Pool Bar food at lunch time wasn't great either.

The hotel itself is getting tired and needs a refurb but it looks like money is being spent on the Royal Savoy and on Soho Square while the Savoy suffers a bit. I think the efforts on entertainment are all directed to Soho Square too. In the evenings the entertainment for the children was all a bit hit and miss, the times changed, and some of the content was inappropriate e.g. billed as a family movie they showed the Expendables in which a chap is blown in half by a rocket launcher in the first 2 minutes. Might watch it myself on Virgin Film Flex but not with my one year old. Rather than the immediate switch to a movie, why not continue the music for the children for longer than the paltry half an hour? They are also missing a trick with their roof top terrace where they host the mini disco for kids, it could arguably be one of the best places in the hotel in the evening, but instead it sits empty most nights.

All this said, I would just about go back because the weather is good, the people are generally helpful and it is decent enough value. It needs some 5 star polish though, it is currently an Egyptian 5 star. One night we went for dinner at the Four Seasons which is juts a few minutes walk down the road, and that is a proper, proper international 5 star, and bears no comparison with the Savoy, it's pretty amazing - has it's own funicular railway up and down the resort...

Overall, good enough for some late season sun, fair value for money, hotel is getting tired and needs a facelift though, the food is mixed, not an international 5 star, but might go again.

Room Tip: If you are travelling with a buggy you need to make sure that your floor has a lift, some floors are...
