“Fabulous holiday!”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

Arrived back in drizzly UK early hours of this morning, after having such a lovely time at this resort! We travelled with our two children, aged 8 & 12, and they had a grand time. This was our first time in Egypt , we were a bit wary about the trouble and being hassled, but this was completely unnecessary.... We found all the Egyptions to be warm and friendly people, even the locals in shops around town were ok, and didn't get too pushy.
Anyway, enough about that, let's start with arriving at hotel. We were greeted with a drink, taken to our room 3102, luggage followed us by staff, all very quick and stress free. Amazed at the size of the complex!! It's huge, lots and lots of different pools, lots of great water shoots for all ages, very clean, and all staff are very very friendly and polite. Felt at ease immediately. I knew this was going to be a good holiday, and it was from start to finish, absolutely loved it and will be going back next Easter.
The staff here work really hard and long hours, yet they are always cheerfull, happy, friendly and so accommodating to your every need. (We did comment some Brits could take a leaf out of their book). Room was cleaned daily and spotless every time. Mostly English families here, just a few Russians who were really rude, even rude to each other !
Definitely recommend a visit to the roof top bar, it's not included in the all inc but it's not expensive either. We only ate in the main hall, there were outdoor restaurants which looked lovely, but the flies were all over and that put me off, the food in the main hall was good, waiters were so so helpful, and polite and friendly, always made welcome.
A lot of people were ill while we were there, luckily we were all ok, some say it was food making them ill, I think use hand gel all the time and tell kids not to put their hands in their mouths and you will be ok, we didn't go anywhere without hand gel, even took it round the pool in the day.
We booked snorkelling with Mickey blue eyes round the pool, a lot cheaper than going through thomas cook and service was fantastic, don't pay thomas cook prices, almost double! Definitely recommend a visit to Soho Town, and a massage in the on site spa, it was lovely!
Negatives would be the mozzys, really got bitten a lot, but not hotels fault, just too many of them!
Positives would be everything else! Never had to que for water rides, always got sun beds, food was good ( maybe not quite 5*) staff really lovely, resort fabulous and clean, rooms lovely, gym was well equipped too.
Hope this helps, this is an honest reflection of our stay, and we would highly recommend a stay here, will definitely be returning. A big thank you to ALL the staff at Le Royal Holiday Resort, you really made our stay extra special, and made us so welcome, hopefully see you again soon!

Everything in the hotel was clean and immaculate. The rooms, pool area, dining rooms, people were always cleaning. The food was good, different themed nights. We were always stuffed. And the pizza was the best we ever had. All the staff were so lovely, cleaning our sunglasses and bringing us drinks all day. They remembered our names to entire holiday which was nice. Always saying hello. Rooms are huge and so comfy. Also had the added bonus of having a free safe in our room. The water park provided hours of laughing and entertainment. We went on a few trips with TC and ended up making friends which made the holiday even better. Went into Naama bay a few times, worth going. Soho Square and Hollywood are also a good evening out.

Was sad to leave, hoping to come back in September!

We have just returned from a weeks stay with our 10yr old little boy. One of the best holidays we've had. It begins with the warm helpful welcome at reception and continues from there. The whole staff team Including the cleaners, gardeners, waiters, bar staff and pool attendants cannot do enough to make your stay the best they can, the service they offer is 2nd to none. Our little boy was entertained on a daily basis and a big Thank You to Salah the pool attendant who spent time talking with him, teaching him a number of sayings in different languages and even indulged with the odd spray from the water fight. Great fun had by all. If you've read bad reviews ignore them. Yes the ketchup may not be heinz, the tea bags not tetley and the bacon not pork and believe it or not but the weather gets HOT but YOU ARE IN EGYPT!! If you want everything the same as you have in England including complaining it's too hot my advice is to stay at home. This hotel is BRILLIANT and we will be returning next year for sure, in fact looking up about booking it this weekend.

Just returned from 2 weeks with extended family to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary. On arriving in our room we found an anniversary cake along with a very nice letter from Mr Dernault (general manager), congratulating us on our anniversary. We attended an evening invitation to meet him and he is a really approachable and attentive person whom is constantly around the hotel and grounds, asking if everything is ok and if there is anything that can be done to make the stay more pleasurable.
Mohamed el Nady (duty manager) was very helpful when my husband and son in law had an accident outside the hotel, so thank you again !
Hotel was very clean in all areas. Rooms nice and large with VERY comfy beds and pillows. Over the years we have traveled extensively and this had to be the most comfortable bed. We had a lovely bathroom with large walk in shower which was stocked with Elemis toiletries, and also complementary slippers and fluffy bathrobes.
Food in the dining room was always hot and covered over. My 8 year old grand daughter is a fussy eater and each night the chefs prepared what ever she wanted, i.e. omellete, poached eggs, pasta etc. The staff were very helpful and efficient, special thanks to Islam (whom never stopped rushing around seeing to your every need always with a smile), Waheed, the chef whom does the eggs of a morning with a lovely smile and not forgetting Taric? the gentleman whom sorted our your tables.
The pool bar staff, Malik and Hanny were wonderful, keeping everybody stocked up with drinks.
Thanks to the towel guys whom changed towels on request and put the parasols up, which there were plenty of. They were also first aiders, should children bump into each other. (as children do)!
Animation team, Adriano, Duff, Alina, Julia, Amy,Kijo and Jimmy work VERY HARD and long hours, always smiling. We played knock out darts each day which is great fun, especially as I hit the tree and grass more times than the dart board!!!
The evening entertainment could be improved/no, should be improved as this is a let down.
About a 10 minute walk outside the main gate to the left is Hollywood, which is WELL worth a visit, at the moment it is not fully opened, but there are quite a few shops (reasonably priced) lots of animated dinosaurs/animals etc and really lovely dancing waters. Having been to Soho square many times Hollywood is better.
As we normally use local transport where ever we go,if using the Dolmus (local buses) be aware that they do try to over charge, so check before you travel. Be aware that apparently the local taxis do not have insurance, as we found out when my husband and son in law were knocked over ( standing on the grass verge) as they DO reverse extremely quickly long distances !!
All in all, we had a lovely holiday in a VERY nice hotel.
Biggest let down was Thomas Cook as their brochure stated that the kids club would be open and it was not !!! This is not down to the hotel but to T/C themselves.

It was our first time ever in Sharm el sheikh, and although we were not overwhelmed by Naama Bay, we thought the hotel was superb.
It definitely lives up to its 5* rating. The rooms were spacious and kept clean and immaculate by very friendly staff. The main restaurant was filled with yummy food and again, staffed by very friendly waiters who were brilliant with the children. The pool areas were very cleverly designed and catered for all-from serene adult only sections to the aqua park with fantastic slides (no queues!) and aqua aerobics, water polo, yoga and general entertainment.
Just be careful when eating outside at the food court as flies can be a problem there and the good in often left uncovered.
All in all, a fantastic hotel that I would thoroughly recommended. You're definitely in for a treat at Le Royale!

Reviewed April 14, 2014

We visited this hotel March, April with Fleetway travel the week before half term. Excellent rooms, we upgraded to a suite, large and spaciious, huge bed! - good amenities in room, Large flat screen TV, very clean and good standard of furniture. No draws - which they really need as not enough storgae for clothes.

Cleaner for the room was outstanding and cleaned the room very well everyday and worked around us. Our room was ground floor right next to a quiet pool, need to change up the music here though i must have listened to Doris Day 3 times a day!!! either dolphin calm music, or something a bit more upbeat and in the background.
Sunbeds were quite comfy - there was a pool towel guy there for a few days then he disappeared! - beds plentiful this time of the year, so no early morning rush, stroll out at 11am and a bed was still available either here or elsewhere.

Bar staff were great and very friendly in all the bars - special mention to staff at pool bar and the guys that came around and took orders from our pool and had to walk back to the pool bar to get the drinks.

Staff in restaurant were helpful and very welcoming, always a smile and service was excellent.

Food was OK but a bit repetative after a few days - food court food was OK, the first few days was covered to keep flies off then this wasnt done and too many flies crawling on the salad after a few hrs!!! - OK if you got there 12pm - flies a problem when eating but not a fault of the hotel, just a lot of flies here.

Main restaurant was clean and almost empty every day until nearing the easter weekend, when it got a bit mobbed at 7-7.30pm best to avoid this time, again the food a bit bland and repetative, but could always find something to eat, I like spicy food and would have lliked to have seen more traditional food, rather than chips!!!

Room service was good quality and the burgers were fantastic, time to arrive average!

We both had a bad stomach for a day whilst away, my partner worse than mine - not usual for us as normally very good as travel on a regulatr basis to Egypt! - staff very helpful and made a special effort for me to be able to atak food back for my partner, gave me takeaway containers and wrapped the food.

Grounds were clean and there was staff weatering, weeding and cleaning the grouds constantly. Plenty of security around the complex.

Gym was above average, not enough free weight bars, and lower body machines but equipment quality was excellent - no aircon, no water (which should be a must) and no towels when I first used the gym, these were eventually brought in after being open for a few hrs.

Booked 4 massages - 2 Egyption and 2 Sports massages - this was brutal to say the least - I was bruised after the first day from the sports massage on my legs!! massure was very good and knew what she was doing even though probably not to everyones tastes!!! she was great and used cream to remedy the bruised leg. Didnt use the other facilities, but was told these were very good, good value for money £30 per massage.

Beach area was a bit dissapointing, up some steps away from the beach....Bar was tiny and at the bottom of the steps, bar satff and towel/sun bed guy very good and accommodating and came up and took orders/delivered drinks - shame there was not a better, proper bar that you could sit at on the beach. This was the most dissapointing aspect of the hotel, as I like to sit on the beach and did not use the beach on this holiday as no food amenities this side, too far away from sea, bar was poor, even though staff really good.

Water park was split into 2 looked OK didnt use, but was well appointed. Pools very clean but very very cold!

Entertainment a bit poor, not much to do in the evening, an outside disco would have been good, outside bar was also a bit below average for a 5 star. Drink quality was OK beer was good spirits poor, brought my own gin to drink. the outside bar near the pool was open till 11pm but there was no music at this bar, so didnt have much atmosphere - the upper bar (where tables were) sometimers there was an entertainer, music was played from a CD! but nothing exciting, we did not visit the theatre to watch the shows.

Shame the bar upstairs was not included in the All inclusive as this was empty, we used this bar which was really nice, great views but again no atmosphere and empty!!! drink quality was good as premium brands - not expensive, i think with room service (twice) and extra drinks from Sky bar and fee for keeping the room on ($50 for 5hrs) was around £70.00.

We missed out on a boat trip due to my partners ill health that day, our fleetway rep siad he would write a letter so we could claim compesation, he didnt bother following this through, which was a shame.

Naama Bay was in walking distance along the prom - which could be picked up by going through the hotel opopossite and wealking down around 20 mins, lots of bars, restaurants to choose from.

We went to the hard rock cafe in the day for a drink/snack - good service worth a visit.
On the saturday evening we went into Naama Bay and went to Chillis - poor food, over cooked vegtables, steak very fatty - no alcohol served here!!! give this a miss and go for the more traditional restaurants available. lots of bars to chose from, again we visted Hard rock for a few drinks on our travel - same price as UK near enough, quality good - service good, can pay by visa/credit card.

Dont forget repellent as some people were bitten to death, we were OK as used a great repellent called Repel 100 (Amazon) works a treat around £7 a bottle.

Great time to visit as not too hot, empty airport on return 43 people on a plane for 230 people!!!

Overall good choice hotel if food is not your top priority and dont really minfd not sitting on the beach - near to Naama Bay and Airport around 10/15 min transfer. Good waterpark, but entertainment a bit loose on the ground (but usual for Egypt) drink quality not great except for the beer - not keen on the plastic beakers (as some were cracked and looked a bit worn) Great sunbeds, plenty of availability (this time of year) clean beach towels available all day - All staff friendly and accommodating.

Big plus mainly English occupancy - not sure how long this will last, a few Russians and other nationalities but Mostly English which was nice for a change in Egypt! - we made a few friends and had a laugh with other guests and bar staff.

Room Tip: All rooms of a good standard
