Arrived back in drizzly UK early hours of this morning, after having such a lovely time at this resort! We travelled with our two children, aged 8 & 12, and they had a grand time. This was our first time in Egypt , we were a bit wary about the trouble and being hassled, but this was completely unnecessary.... We found all the Egyptions to be warm and friendly people, even the locals in shops around town were ok, and didn't get too pushy.
Anyway, enough about that, let's start with arriving at hotel. We were greeted with a drink, taken to our room 3102, luggage followed us by staff, all very quick and stress free. Amazed at the size of the complex!! It's huge, lots and lots of different pools, lots of great water shoots for all ages, very clean, and all staff are very very friendly and polite. Felt at ease immediately. I knew this was going to be a good holiday, and it was from start to finish, absolutely loved it and will be going back next Easter.
The staff here work really hard and long hours, yet they are always cheerfull, happy, friendly and so accommodating to your every need. (We did comment some Brits could take a leaf out of their book). Room was cleaned daily and spotless every time. Mostly English families here, just a few Russians who were really rude, even rude to each other !
Definitely recommend a visit to the roof top bar, it's not included in the all inc but it's not expensive either. We only ate in the main hall, there were outdoor restaurants which looked lovely, but the flies were all over and that put me off, the food in the main hall was good, waiters were so so helpful, and polite and friendly, always made welcome.
A lot of people were ill while we were there, luckily we were all ok, some say it was food making them ill, I think use hand gel all the time and tell kids not to put their hands in their mouths and you will be ok, we didn't go anywhere without hand gel, even took it round the pool in the day.
We booked snorkelling with Mickey blue eyes round the pool, a lot cheaper than going through thomas cook and service was fantastic, don't pay thomas cook prices, almost double! Definitely recommend a visit to Soho Town, and a massage in the on site spa, it was lovely!
Negatives would be the mozzys, really got bitten a lot, but not hotels fault, just too many of them!
Positives would be everything else! Never had to que for water rides, always got sun beds, food was good ( maybe not quite 5*) staff really lovely, resort fabulous and clean, rooms lovely, gym was well equipped too.
Hope this helps, this is an honest reflection of our stay, and we would highly recommend a stay here, will definitely be returning. A big thank you to ALL the staff at Le Royal Holiday Resort, you really made our stay extra special, and made us so welcome, hopefully see you again soon!
