“Great relaxing break”
Reviewed November 28, 2013 via mobile

We visited on the 20th of Nov 2013 with my wife & daughter.
The hotel is clean and brand new with one or 2 of the more exclusive rooms still to open.
We can recommend all of the al a carte restaurants and especially the French & Italian but all were good as was the buffet for breakfast & lunch.
Entertainment provided by Mizo, Tessa and the animation team was good & energetic, they have a hard task trying to cater for all the different nationalities so give them a chance and you will find a lovely crew.
The only niggle was with the water, coffee & tea not being replenished in the room as my wife likes a cuppa before leaving the room in the morning it is a small point which after talking to Mr Hany will be quickly corrected.
All in all a great holiday.

I stayed at this resort in August this year with my friend and it was excellent. The staff were very kind and welcoming and made sure we were enjoying our stay. The resort itself was amazing. Everything was clean and well kept. There are so many amazing restaurants on site and the buffet was exceptional. There are so many pools and there is a private beach, that even though we went in peak season there was always a place to go where there weren't many people and we never felt crowded. We even enjoyed the bartender making us suprise cocktails by the pool !! The only complaint i have is that the wifi did not work in our room. The staff tried to help us but apparently it was a bad connection just in our room - it did however work everywhere else. Definitely recommend this resort !

Room Tip: The main pool gets a bit crowded, so ask for a room closer to the beach as each level has its own po...

Had a fabulous 10 day stay at this five star hotel, the staff are amazing and that includes everyone from the moment you walk through the door, to the cleaners, animation staff, restaurant staff , pool guys and especially the bar staff. The facilities at the hotel are second to none. 6 Al a carte restaurants to choose from in addition to the buffet, the food and selections of food are excellent, ever providing purée for baby food....very impressed. We love to travel and would definitely come back to this hotel. There are a lot of steps , but the hotel do offer a golf buggy shuttle for those requiring assistance. The coral reef at the beach offer a vast array of colourful fish. Scuba diving available and other water sports as well. Nothing was too much trouble at this lovely hotel, I highly recommend a visit. Definitely 5 stars! Swimming pools, so many I lost count also water slides!

We are a couple with 2 boys 13 and 16 and visited in late October for 2 weeks. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff the best I have seen anywhere. A real treat especially with the price. We booked direct with the hotel and got a really good rate. All inclusive. We did not spend a penny in the hotel except tips.

Its about 10 mins from the airport, in fact pretty much next to it. But there are so few flights you hardly notice them, and it certainly did not bother us.

The hotel is on a plot about 100m wide and about 400m deep, sloping down about 50m from the front to the rear where the beach is, fairly steep but not unbearably so.

We had a family room. From the door, you pass the bathroom on the right, then enter bedroom 1 with 2 single beds. I guess this would be the sitting room normally if it were not a family room. You walk through this and another door to the master bedroom, v.large double bed. And finally to the balcony. To be honest it was cramped for 4 basically adults over 2 weeks, with not enough storage at all. I would pay the extra for 2 rooms next time. I would like to give some of the staff a call out, Hamay running front of house was excellent and professional, and clearly dedicated to excellence, Shimaa was always attentive and smiling round the bar, Bassem too. Its not really fair to mention just these, but those are the only names I remembered.

I would not hesitate to book their again.

Tips to get the most out of this hotel.
1) The a la carte restaurants are definitely the way to go if you can get in. They are rationed for obvious reasons of cost. 2 or 3 of the 5 are open each night in rotation. Bookings open at midnight 3 days before your booking. My advice, stay up until midnight and make your choice (which you can do by wifi if working). All included in price. Its possible you may be able to book for the night of your arrival by phoning guest services from home. Possible, I dont know.
2) Do the snorkelling off the pier. Its amazing, and the water is so warm you will never feel a chill.
3) Leave a good tip the first time you encounter staff. Including in your room for the cleaner - labelling it as a tip.
4) TAKE LOTS OF UK POUND COINS for tips. 100 should last you. Its really embarrassing to arrive and have no cash for tips.

Comments to the hotel
1) Would be a good idea to test everything in the room at changeover. All lights and a/c working and that fixtures have not come loose. When we arrived there were 3 or 4 faults that were fixed within 20 min or so, but its not the best welcome.
2) It was very interesting to have each of the cocktails prepared in a different way by each of the 10 or so bar staff :-). But some may not be so impressed, there is a right way to make each one....
3) The restaurant booking system is bonkers. First question should be your room number for checking entitlement, then "What night do you want to book for", then it should offer the possible choices, and allow me to select one. It was a total pain to have to go through all the choices for all the restaurants only to find in the end that there were no options anywhere.

Trips - we booked with Sharm Life as we had seen such good reviews on TA. They were brilliant, and arranged a day trip to Cairo for us by plane. And no, there was no trouble.

We have just returned from a fortnight at the Sunrise Arabian Beach. As you can see I have given it 4 out of 5. This is an overall score - there are some aspects which I would rate as 5 other aspects lower. However I do believe in giving balanced views and therefore will provide more detail so you can decide what is important to you.

Firstly the negative aspects:

1) Finishing touches on the property itself. Around the hotel there seems to have been a lack of attention to the finishing touches (build quality). This is quite typical on buildings in Egypt but it is worth being aware that it is not UK 5 star.

2) It is a really well designed resort but it is huge with lots of steps. There are 5 levels from the beach to the reception. However it is good opportunity to work off some of the food and drink (see later). The reason I say that the resort is well designed is that even though the report is huge all of the rooms appear to have good views and you do not get a feeling of being overlooked or crowded in by buildings.

3) The hotel is fairly quiet. We went at the start of their winter and the hotel was about 30% occupied. I still do not understand why so few Brits come to the Red Sea. We have been visiting for years - even during the recent unrest and have never experienced any problems.

4) The Arabian Beach is just over a year old but the poor build quality is showing. The grouting around the main pool is in a very poor condition as well as some of the tiling around the edge of the pool. When we were leaving they were just re-grouting the diver's pool which is why it had been drained (see some of the other reviews)

Now for the positives:

1) Service. All of the staff in the restaurants, bars and around the hotel are excellent. You do get the overwhelming feeling that they are all really pleased that you have chosen to stay at their hotel. We gave tips during the stay as we know that the staff will be on minimum pay (due to the low occupancy) but the staff treated you the same whether you tipped or not.

2) The food. There are 5 a la carte restaurants as well as the buffet for evening meals. The a la carte restaurants needed to be pre booked but this is easy enough once you get the routine. The a la cartes had a good choice of all inclusive meals plus some other items which you can pay extra for if you want. We found the food to be of an excellent standard and were impressed with the choice and quality. Please bear in mind that this is not peak season and therefore every restaurant is not open every night. However there is generally a choice of either two or three a la carters and the buffet every day. Breakfast is in the main buffet restaurant with a wide range of fruit, cold meats, bread, fresh fruit juices, and eggs (poached, fried, omelette, hard boiled) with sausages, beans and beef bacon.

3) Drink and bar staff. There is a very good selection of reasonable drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic including a wide selection of cocktails. During the day we used the Island Bar which is the swim up and snack bar by the main pool. The staff here would take your drink order and then deliver it around to your sun bed (which were all very comfortable with memory foam and adjustable back rests).

4) Guest relations. The ethos at the Arabian Beach is that if there is an issue they want to know so it can be sorted so that you can enjoy your holiday. The first day that we were there the guest relations team tracked us down at a mealtime and genuinely wanted to know if there any problems and getting any feedback. She (Samantha) caught up with us at various times during our fortnight to have a chat and making sure that everything was okay.

5) Animation team. We located ourselves by the main pool for most of the holiday and the animation team were tremendous. We got to know Paola, Anastasya and Tessa well. They worked tirelessly to ensure everyone got involved with activities (Russia versus rest of the world water polo etc) or just had a friendly chat if not. As well as the daytime activities there were the evening shows which mainly included professional performances. The whole team were very good and seemed to enjoy themselves which meant it was infectious.

6) Snorkelling. We have been to the Red Sea on numerous occasions (at least 10 times) and I am a keen snorkeler. The best of the snorkelling is to the right of the jetty beyond the safety ropes. There are a couple of pillars of coral where there are some lovely colours etc. The main part of the coral is a 12-15 feet drop that runs parallel to the beach with a large amount of fish life. Because of the depth the water is clear even when there are waves. If the lifeguards are doing their job properly they will advise you not to go to the right in the morning as the current is quite strong on the return swim.

7) The room and facilities. We upgraded to a superior room (4206) which had a large walk in shower, good amount of wardrobe space, tea and coffee making, fridge with a mini bar, two double beds and a good seating area leading onto a good size balcony. There was a flat screen with a good number of UK movie channels, news channels etc. There were the usual shampoo, soaps etc but there was also a fruit basket on arrival, a plate of biscuits, towelling robe and slippers. In all open spaces on the resort there is free WiFi (so you can lay by the pool and keep an eye on emails, Facebook or even FaceTime loved ones back home). The WiFi can be slow at times but generally was fine.

As a funny aside all of the room blocks are named after flowers except for ours which seemed to be named after a country 'Mangolia":-)

Despite the negatives we are seriously thinking of going back to the Sunrise Arabian Beach.

I hope that you find this review useful. I have included some photos to show you some of the aspects of the resort. Message me if you have any questions.

My wife and I stayed here in late October and had a great 10 days. We were lucky enough to be upgraded as it was our Wedding Anniversary and received a lovely cake and complimentary meal on the beach. Our room was spacious, very clean and had all the comforts you need. There was always lots of sunbeds and enough pools to feel like you were swimming alone (to be fair most of the time we were). The snorkelling was great from the hotel. Lots of varieties of fish, including seeing a turtle, a 3m manta ray and a huge napoloen wrass. We were in the sea averaging 3 times a day it was that good. We also did a snorkelling trip to tiran island using the hotels pyramid organisers and whilst the price was a little bit more than some operators the boat was new, and we did not get a dodgy tummy from the food. We had no stomach problems at all infact. The only thing I would say is that the standard of food is probably only really ok in the evening. There are several restaurants, but as has been said before the Indian is streets ahead. The rest are no more than so so. The mogolian is nothing more than a pretty looking but dark restaurant serving food that could be thai, indan, or chinese but certainly not mongolian. The booking of restaurants is a bit of a joke however, as whilst you need to book in advance, it would appear thay unless you book at midnight when the bookings roll over you have no chance of the indian. They really do need to look at this. I think people have to judge this AI v other Egypt AI, as there is no dopubt this is one of the best in terms of a modern, new feel hotel. It is several notches down from some AI in places such as the Maldives or Mexico but is also about 5 times cheaper, so people must balance their views (snorkelling is excellent mind you if that is important). We thought it was great value for money.

Room Tip: Go for a high up deluxe room and you cant go wrong Tell the hotel in advance if you are celebrating...
