I hate this type of manufactured attration. The whole area has been created for those who do not wish to really see and appreciate the country that they are in. Numerous bars and chains from around the world. If you want to go to Africa and have KFC then you will love it!

Depends what you like but this place is very busy, hassled all the time for the bars restaurants and shops, couldn't wait to get back to the hotel

We went to Naama bay expecting a traditional Egyptian market but found a tacky street that sells fakes and has people who hassle you to death every minute. We went into a clothes shop, did not like stuff and the rude shopkeeper commented - if we did not want to buy why did we waste his time. He also suggested that we must buy something from him to make up for the lost time - lol ! We were approached at least 10 times by touts who promised us cheap tours - so had to firmly tell them that we have already done all tours. If you enter any shop - beware that you will be hassled to buy something and will get very odd comments tailored according to your your nationality and shopkeepers will try and shame you into buying something. Good for people who want to pick up cheap looking fakes ! Completely avoidable.

This area caters to tourists primarily, and is quite new, although you will find traditional shops amongst the fast food outlets. The beach is beautiful and you can sit and enjoy a cocktail and a paddle for a fair price. Boat trips and scuba diving can be organised here and there are many shisha cafes and good fish restaurants. At night the whole place comes alive with lights and music and dancing, and is an experience in its own right. A good day out.
