“Great for a relaxing peaceful holiday!!!”
Reviewed April 6, 2009

Just returned on 4th April from holidaying with my female friend in Tropicana Tivoli. Please don't believe the bad reviews about this hotel and the staff. We arrived at night and the room we were allocated had a double bed. We asked at reception if we could have a room with 2 single beds. We were shown 2 rooms with single beds by staff, they could not help us enough. In the end we decided to say in the one with the double as it had a pool view.
The pool bar opens about 11am and they serve a good selection of reasonably priced food and drinks. There is no entertainment but they play music round the pool area.
The hotel provides safes at reception free of charge, therefore no need to leave valuables in your room.
There was no harrasing from staff. The lady from the beauty salon came round once and asked if we would like any treatments. The newspaper boy would come round and ask if you would like to buy a newspaper usually twice a day.
The pool was cleaned every day and none of the towels we received had any holes in them and we had 26 between us during our stay!
We only ventured down to the hotel beach 2 days before our holiday ended, as we took note of reviews saying it was stoney and very cramped. Wish we had gone sooner! It was stoney and cramped but it had a good atmosphere and was really great for snorkling and we saw lots of lovely fish only a few yards from the edge of the water.
Turn right when you leave the hotel and about 20 mins walk away you will find a Shopping Mall called El Mercado and further on an outdoor market area with outdoor dining. Old Sharm Market is a must. It is probably about 30-40 mins walk but only about £1.50 in a taxi. It is very large and sells everything.
There is an English pub next door to the hotel called T2. They serve good food at a good price.
All in all we had a great holiday and are looking forward to going back.

Have read many of the reviews. I do not know what people expect, but the hotel is excellent. It may not be the smartest, the newest or have the best food. What it is is a very nice, clean, comfortable hotel in a great location. It is in striking distance of Naama Bay if that's what you want. It is also in walking distance of the Old market, and the very new shopping centre Il Mercato. There is a shuttle service to the beach which on first impressions is awful. It is crowded with no sand, but after one swim (snorkel) you discover it is probably one of the best beaches you have ever been to. Go out a bit over the coral reef and it is like being in your own personal aquarium. It is amazing. The pool area at the hotel is superb, but the beach is the high point. Be realistic and you will enjoy any stay in this hotel.

My 2nd visit to eygpt and this time I stayed at the tropicana tivoli for 11 nights B&B, but could of stayed for the rest of the year ( I WISH) it was clean and comfortable and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Beach was a free 5 mins bus ride away. And over the road is a brilliant restraunt called picasso, food is excellant and the portions are huge (CAKES R TO DIE FOR), and the owners and staff are such lovely people. Cant wait to go back to sharm el sheikh !!!!! what a beautiful place !!!!!

after reading some of the reveiws you could easily be put off! in my opinion, this was my third visit to sharm and by far this was the nicest hotel, friendly, helpful and far from rude and letchy staff.
rooms where of decent size and cleaned everyday with fresh towels. you can also get a free safety deposit box at reception if youhave concerns about leaving your money in your room.
if your missing home a tad an fancy some decent grub, just across the road there is a restuarant 'PICASSO's' run by donna (yorkshire lass) and sayeed, who do the most heartful portions and quality english food, catering to your every whim.
this hotel is fabulous, its not to near the husle and bussle of naama yet not too far either, about 20 egyptions pounds (buttons)
plenty of beaches also, recommend hotel beach with yeah snorkle, beautiful, eye catching scenes of sea life, ideal to have beach shoe as it is rocky in places.
if anyone has any queries i will be glad to help, enjoy your trip

I've never been more angry when leaving a hotel. To begin with, my American friend and I (I'm American too) went with our two Egyptian guy friends. They were immediately put on watch and weren't allowed to even come close to our room. They were given a horrible room, one that was a quarter of the size of ours, simply because they were Egyptian. The food was horrible (I ate better in college), the staff was never around when we needed them, the pool wasn't heated and absolutely frigid, and the prices were double what they should have been. Based on their disregard for our wishes, I could never in good conscious recommend this hotel to ANYONE. On top of all of that, it's almost half an hour from the beach, so it's a pain to plan your day around it. This hotel is the most expensive babysitting I've ever paid for... and I didn't appreciate it at all. I'm never going back.

As a group of divers this hotel was just the job. The pool was nice and clean with a pool bar that was useful on a day off. The only occaisional downside to the pool was its bar, that sometimes attracted clients to stay late at night in the pool area and be a bit noisy. This was not constant or challenging.

Considering that we spent very little time at the hotel, I was very pleased by the attitude of the staff who were all very helpful and showed much interest in our needs and wants.

We opted for the B&B option and breakfast at 0700 met our needs before we transferred to our dive operators 'Emperor Divers' in Sharm. Emperors collect and return you to this hotel at no cost as part of their service.

Breakfast was of a good quality and plentiful. We did opt to buy into the evening buffet twice. Again what was served was very palitable. A good night to do this is when they do the charcoal grill, this was particularly good.

The hotel is away from the hum drum of Naama Bay but for the equivalent of £3 you can get a cab there if that is what you want. There are also complimentary transfers and returns to Naama Bay provided by the hotel. This service also extends to a local beach during the day.

There are some additional facilities nearby that include an Aqua Park and a Go Karting track. We also found a fantastic restaurant, the 'Piccaso' , only some 200 metres away that served very good quality English/European food. It was run by an English woman and her Egyptian partner. Well worth a visit and free camel rides from here on Sundays.

Use it again, yes! It was good quality budget accommodation and catered for all nationalities.

Just arrived back this morning from staying at this hotel. We have been to Egypt now 4 times and have stayed in 4* and 5* Hotels, this hotel is a good standard 4* hotel. There was no hassle from any of the staff all polite and helpful. The standard of the room was typical of 4* we where however impressed with the size of the room and if you are going out there to dive and need to wash/rinse your gear then you will be pleased with the massive area in the room to be able to do this.

We wanted a quiet and relaxing holiday and got this with this hotel, you're in between Naama Bay, Sharm El Sheikh and Old Sharm. The hotel does provide a bus to Naama Bay but if the Russians get there first then you will be pushed out of the way by them so that they can get on first!!!!!!! Old Sharm is in Walking distance and is worth the walk and visit just for the experience.

The hotel provides a safety deposit for your belongings and found this to be safe and secure for out valuables.

The food is a bit same as same as and you pay over the top for drinks, there is a brilliant restaurant/ bar over the road and the food is great and the price even better. The waiter and chefs there very friendly and don't rip you off.

We got a taxi from the airport to the hotel and it cost us £60 Egyptian pounds which worked out cheaper than the transfers. This is a country inwhich you have to haggle for everything so don't pay there asking price tell them what you are willing to pay.

The only disappointment about this hotel is their beach, it's over crowded and shared with 4/5 other hotels. The sunbeds are near enough ontop of each other, falling apart and dirty, however if you get the bus to their beach and walk down the hill there is an fantastic Italian owned private beach. The coast is 7 euro and they provide you with water, fresh fruit, towels and shower. The coral here is fantastic and the service 2nd to non.

We had a great time there and if you do decide to stay here I recommend having a massage.
