I was there for a week and I couldnt wait to get back home, the reasons where - the rooms where not clean as they appear in the pics here plus there was black mold in the bathroom and hair on the floor in the bathroom. I actually had to get Clorox to clean the shower and then was asked by the man who cleaned the rooms why I was using the clorox and it was like he had never used the clorox in his life....the gnats that are there have no mercy on anyone, had to buy OFF and use RAID to keep the gnats out of the room just to be able to sleep at night.

The BUFFET for BREAKFAST and DINNER is something that I would not expect at a Hotel, but maybe for this one it was ok for the other guest.

As going to the beach, well save your time and find a place at one of the hotels that you may be able to enjoy the private beach at due to the place they take you to is a DIASTER, first of all you have to walk down a flight of steps that are not in the best of shape and then when you get down there you can't lay where you want and the chairs are actually right on top of each other and you have to wear water shoes to get into the water due to the broken rocks and stones that are near the shoreline.

I guess the best thing that I got to experience was going to the Old Market and El Mercato where the shops were interesting and you can find some great bargains but be prepared for the owners trying to lure you into their shops and for the bargaining to begin....

Please, please do more research on where you want to stay before booking here.

I don't know about the timing, but it was kinda crowded at the time of my stay there ... the food was not that good you had to wait about 15 min. to get a table.
The rooms were clean, AC working perfectly, that's one thing i was pleased with.

I guess there might be better hotels but its good value for money .

This hotel is only fit for Egyptians. If you enjoy continually screaming children and even louder adults with terrible food ( all salad and gristly scrawny meat) and disgusting table manners, then this hotel is for you. The so called 'private beach' is shared with 3 other Hotels and is a bus ride away, Internet/broad band is costly, paid by the hour and only receivable outside not in your room and you are continually pestered for: massages, beauty treatment and news papers. The entertainment promised is aquarobics with extremely loud music, still it hides the sound of screaming children. The rooms have seen better days and are dirty and shabby. All in all a hotel to be avoided especially if you have children

Good points: Excellent value for money. If you book through 'On the Beach' or 'Travel Republic' you should be able to get this hotel at less than £70 per person per week, B&B. For that you get exceptionally friendly staff, a decent level of accommodation and most of the facilities you will need. We have used this hotel as a base for our diving trips for the past four years and have never been dissappointed. I can't really vouch for the food in the main restaurant because we don't use it. Naama Bay is a £3 taxi ride away with plenty of restaurants to choose from.
The air con. isn't the quietest I've ever heard but at least it's up to the job. The rooms have a small kitchen area but the only equipment is a fridge. We have seen an interesting change in the clientel over the past 18 months. Where it was once frequented by Italian, British, German and even Russians it is now largely an Egyptian family hotel. This is a plus point for me because they are a very friendly race and generally seem to go to bed early!
If you want luxory then go to the Hyatt or the Four Seasons. The Tivoli is 3* but good at it.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Tropicana Tivoli at the end of May/start of June. On arrival we were put in a downstairs room at the back of the complex. We (along with several other guests) asked to be put in an upstairs room with a pool view. We were told this wouldn't be a problem if we paid the equivalent to £70. We didn't mind as the difference in the quality/interior of the rooms was staggering! So I would definitely recommend everyone opt for upstairs rooms with a pool view. The air con in the rooms in absolutely fabulous! The pool is beautiful but the pool bar isn't much good, cocktails were OK and the food wasn't much better. Breakfast selection and quality was just ok. The hotel location is ok if you don't mind getting taxis to and from (It's not really within walking distance of any of the main areas) Although Il Mercato is only a ten minute walk away which has a good selection of shops and restaurants. The hotel beach is a ten minute shuttle ride away and is a lovely area for swimming with the fishies! As for the staff, Abd at the pool bar was lovely as was Mohamed at the reception. Osama the hotel taxi man is an absolute gent too, on the way back from Soho one evening he even took us to one of the local mosques for photos (at no extra cost!) Ahmed at reception is extremely rude and condescending-should not be working with the general public at all!.. On exchanging our money to Egyptian Pounds at reception, he decided to round it down and keep a profit for himself!! (and that's the least of it, I won't go into details on the rest!)
I probably wouldn't stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view room UPSTAIRS!
