Loved every minute .... Was tempted to book another week

What a fantastic dive resort and hotel. Hotel staff and dive guides and boat crews all fantastic and met up and bonded with a whole new group of dive buddies . No wonder they refer to themselves as the "camel tribe". From the personal pickup at the airport to the personal farewell also at the airport... The week flew by. Boats, dives, instructors, dive guides, skippers crew and hotel staff were amazing.

We also had lots of divers in wheelchairs on all our dives and the crew and staff were brilliant with them. I didn't know you could have so much fun in a wheelchair. All boats and hotel extremely wheelchair friendly which is a joy to see.

Prices were also excellent and diving in sharm is amongst best in the world. Vis goes on for miles and the life between 0m and 15m is mind boggling......only gripe ..... I didn't get to dive Thistlegorm which was a prime reason for going. But it now gives me a great excuse to return next year..... Beam me up Scotty :-)

Hi,

We just come back from vacations in Sharm. We decided to subscribe to a diving course with Camel dive club, for 2 days, Padi Scuba Diver.
The course was very well organised, the monitor came to take us at our hotel (we did not stay at Camel's hotel) in the morning.
We had 2 monitors for 2 students, so it could not have been better, really !!! Both of them were Ukrainians, so Russian speaking, and also perfect English, and 1 also spoke French & Italian ! very friendly people ...
We did some training & exercices in the hotel swimming pool, before going for an open water dive in the sea just 2 minutes walk from the club ! It was a good first time for us, they helpt us to feel confident in the sea !

The club is serious, pleople are skilled, they teach u everything u need to have the Padi certification, (it is not only u pay and u have the certification... u have to pass it !) Equipment seems to be of good quality ... but it would be better to bring your own mask & tuba

I was a bit disappointed because i thought we would have gone diving in another spot than the main beach of Naama bay, where there is almost nothing to see ... but for this u have to take a 4 days training if u r not already certified open diver !

Also, a NEGATIVE point for me: we booked the course in Euros at the club. They made a 5% discount on the € price. But when we had to pay, with a visa credit card, the conversion in Egyptian pound was done with a BIG difference with the real exchange rate !!!! ( they used 1 € = 8,8 LE instead of 8,2 so ... it is 7,32 % commission for the club ...)
Either u make sure u have enough cash in € , either u have to negociate a REAL discount !!!

Last point ... the first day, another diver followed us under water with a camera, in the pool and in the sea. He took some pictures of us during our first dive, and at the end showed it on a laptop. Price for the CD: 45 € !!! After bargaining, 35 €. So we bought it because it's a great souvenir, but ... they take advantage of it to increase the price, it's a pity for those who can't afford it !

To conclude, it's a good club, very professional, but as most of the things in Sharm too much orientated on money making !

Thank you for your feedback, we're delighted that you enjoyed learning to dive with us and found our team to be skilled and professional.

In Naama Bay we normally see plenty of fish and corals, plus sometimes huge green sea turtles and eagle rays, and species which are very rarely seen at other sites, like the Hairy Pygmy Pipehorse. Maybe you were unlucky with your dive; of course every dive is different and unfortunately there are no guarantees what you will see!

We provide an underwater photographer on some beginners courses as an extra service for our guests, as we find that learning to dive is an experience that many want to remember forever. I'm pleased that you were able to take advantage of this optional extra service, although you found it expensive. I would remind you that our guests are never under any obligation to purchase extra services.

When paying by credit card, although our prices are quoted in Euros, unfortunately Egyptian law states that business may charge guests only in local currency (Egyptian pounds). This does mean that we incur additional processing fees, although we try to keep exchange rate differences to a minimum.

Just returned from a fab holiday at the Camel Hotel. Have been to sharm 4 times and this stay at the Camel was by far the best. My wife, a non-diver was a little worried about snorkelling off the boats, as previously she was left on her own to jump into the blue. However, Camel provided a snorkelling guide and as it was quiet sometimes it was just the two of them. Her confidence has soared, might just get her diving next time ! The Dive centre staff were all terrific and we had a choice of dives, and extra dives, the food on the boats was excellent, dont know how they manage it in such a small area! The hotel rooms were more than adequte, even though in the centre of Naam we did not hear any noise. Camel bar had great happy hour deals, all day until 9pm!!! accompanied by great food in all the restaurants. It is a great spot to party or just chill ! Would definitely return and recommend to all.

Although I've been to Egypt a number of times this is the first time I've travelled here alone. Given the "attentiveness" of Egyptian men and the hassle from shop-keepers etc I was a little worried. However I would really reccommend the hotel as a good option for any hesitant lone females divers. I also can't speak highly enough of the dive centre staff who were so friendly and enthusiastic. Although the hotel is right in the hub of Naama Bay I have to confess I didn't get round to seeing much of it! Partly because I was extremely busy 10 hours a day on a training course but primarily because everything I could possibly want was right on the door-step! By night one of the hotel courtyards became an excellent Indian, the front of the hotel served good Italian food and the Camel Bar upstairs had a selection of bar snacks including pizza's, Indian and Burger. Next door even served great ice-cream. Now this sounds like all I require of a holiday is food, not entirely true. Best of all was the welcoming atmosphere from all the staff, in particular the dive centre staff - and the guests. I was there for a fortnight and never lacked for good company at the end of a day. I've been to a few dive centre's but this is certainly the friendliest, most welcoming, enthusiastic, genuinely caring one I've ever come across.

As a family we usually go to fairly high end all inclusive self-contained resorts and I didn't have the highest expectations for the hotel. However everything was clean, tidy and well cared for. As a venue from which to spend the day diving and return to good food and excellent company (with all Naama has to offer on your door-step - if this your cup of tea) it was absolutely spot on.

Admittedly I'm told it was much quieter than normal as a result of "the trouble" in Egypt (only English tourists!) of which there was no sign - incidentally.

Checking out of Camel Hotel tomorrow after a week's diving holiday. We've had a fantastic holiday and the service we have had from both the hotel and dive centre is second to none. Yes, the rooms may be slightly dated but the location, food and ambience of the hotel are really fantastic, Three restaurants/bars serving a variety of food including a fabulous Indian restaurant meant that we didn't need to eat/drink anywhere else and when we did we were disappointed. As for the Dive Centre, I've never met a more committed, professional and friendly group of people, They all have a genuine interest in helping divers of all abilities to both develop their skills and enjoy their diving.
Sharm itself is very quiet after the political situation and shark attacks but or diving was perfectly safe and snorkelling is now allowed again. Thank you Camel for a great holiday and we will be back!!

We were two extended families on a dive vacation. We chose Sharm el Sheikh for obvious reasons. Overall, the area is a big nothing, but we came to DIVE. The Camel had more amenities than most typical 'dive' hotels. The restaurant had a great variety to offer, but the food was mediocre. Overall, I'd say it was good value for money given how expensive this area is now. Our room was comfortable and quiet The Camel dive operators, although professional, charged outrageous prices for very poor food on the boat and when we decided to bring our own lunch, they still charged 1/2 of the lunch price for just water & tea--which is a total rip off.

We are delighted that your two families enjoyed your stay and dives with us, and considered your holiday to be good value.
We are sorry to hear however that you were disappointed with the food and drinks on our boats. Our boat crews prepare fresh buffet lunch daily on the boat, for our diving and snorkelling guests. According to our policy, there is always one chicken, one fish, one meat and one vegetable dish, all freshly cooked and served hot, plus a selection of salad dishes.
Lunch costs 55LE (approx. 7 Euro) including unlimited water, soft drinks (usually a choice of coke plus fanta/sprite) and tea/coffee during the whole day. The price for drinks only (again, an unlimited quantity as above) is 30LE (approx. 3.75 Euro). Alternatively our guests are welcome to bring their own food and drinks onto the boat.
The vast majority of our guests find boat lunches good value for money, and opt to have the full lunch, especially when they know that lunch/drinks money is received directly by the boat crew and helps to supplement their incomes.
We appreciate your feedback; it is possible that our normal high standards are not being maintained adequately on certain boats. Our dive guides monitor the lunch daily to ensure standards are being adhered to, as they eat the same food. However, we will double check that the quality of boat lunches, and the quantity and availability of drinks, are meeting our standards, and take action as required.
