Hi,
We just come back from vacations in Sharm. We decided to subscribe to a diving course with Camel dive club, for 2 days, Padi Scuba Diver.
The course was very well organised, the monitor came to take us at our hotel (we did not stay at Camel's hotel) in the morning.
We had 2 monitors for 2 students, so it could not have been better, really !!! Both of them were Ukrainians, so Russian speaking, and also perfect English, and 1 also spoke French & Italian ! very friendly people ...
We did some training & exercices in the hotel swimming pool, before going for an open water dive in the sea just 2 minutes walk from the club ! It was a good first time for us, they helpt us to feel confident in the sea !
The club is serious, pleople are skilled, they teach u everything u need to have the Padi certification, (it is not only u pay and u have the certification... u have to pass it !) Equipment seems to be of good quality ... but it would be better to bring your own mask & tuba
I was a bit disappointed because i thought we would have gone diving in another spot than the main beach of Naama bay, where there is almost nothing to see ... but for this u have to take a 4 days training if u r not already certified open diver !
Also, a NEGATIVE point for me: we booked the course in Euros at the club. They made a 5% discount on the € price. But when we had to pay, with a visa credit card, the conversion in Egyptian pound was done with a BIG difference with the real exchange rate !!!! ( they used 1 € = 8,8 LE instead of 8,2 so ... it is 7,32 % commission for the club ...)
Either u make sure u have enough cash in € , either u have to negociate a REAL discount !!!
Last point ... the first day, another diver followed us under water with a camera, in the pool and in the sea. He took some pictures of us during our first dive, and at the end showed it on a laptop. Price for the CD: 45 € !!! After bargaining, 35 €. So we bought it because it's a great souvenir, but ... they take advantage of it to increase the price, it's a pity for those who can't afford it !
To conclude, it's a good club, very professional, but as most of the things in Sharm too much orientated on money making !
