“Not 5* all inclusive a rip off”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2009

this is the second time we have been here, last year we went b&b, this year was AI. you are only allowed wine at Le Jardin at lunch and dinner and nowhere else unless you pay for it!!. our room was near the marine pool bar where you cant have your AI lunch unless you pay for it. The rooms are very clean and staff
helpful and polite. You are given your drinks in dirty plastic glasses which need to be renewed. I must praise the barman Sayeed and Haitham for their politeness and helpfulness. I cant say this for management staff Nasser and Mahmoud who aggressively told sayeed off for playing the wrong music, after many people at the pool complained the music was reverted back
to what he was playing.
Nasser and Mahmoud need to attend a peoples skills course on how to talk to paying guests, it is us who pay their wages we will not be reattending the hilton unless changes are made which is unfortunate as it is a lovely place.
Sayeed at the Caribe bar should be promoted to supervisor.

Stayed in Hilton Dreams for 1 weeks, wish it was 2, AI, excellent service, very clean, never crowded even though the hotel was full.
Pools was lovely especially the marina pool where Syeed worked at the bar and Hathiam was our towel boy. They couldnt do enough to help. Always polite and generous. Cleaners made our room a pleasure to go to leaving swans and petals on the bed.
The private beach was wonderful and snorkelling every day i have never seen anything like it! If you are thinking of going i would advise you to go it was truly a wonderful holiday and we will be returning next year!

A relatively big resort. However, luggage is transported to and from the room both on arrival and on departure. A professional staff, some of them very friendly. The biggest pool (main pool) is quite noisy and crowded from around mid day and until it closes. But there is in total seven pools on the resort, and some are more secluded with a quieter ambience. The rooms are of a good size with tiled flooring, which feels clean, with a good size bathroom. But don't count on having a shower late at night when they're watering the grounds. We arrived back from our two day journey to Cairo at almost midnight. Having spent all day walking around the Giza plataeu, the citadell, Khan el Khalili and finally six hours on a bus, we were dying for a nice shower. But since they were watering there was no water in our shower.

As a guest at the hotel you can freely use the beach that belongs to Hilton Fayrouz, a neighbouring resort. To get there though, you have to cross the very busy mainroad, which can be quite distressing. But the beach itself is spacious with comfortable sun beds and is quite clean. There are also beach bars which offers food and drink either at the bar or served at your sunbed. And as long as you keep your towel card safe you can change in your beach towel and have a clean one in return as many times as you like.

The first two nights we strolled along the mainroad to get to Nama bay city centre. Which gave us the experience of Egyptian driving, with the taxis honking their horn to you as they pass to tell you they're vacant, full speed between the speed bumps and children on camels selling rides. An experience I wouldn't want to be without, but the beach promenade is to prefer. For two adults it took us around 15 mins to walk to the city centre in a very leisurely tempo.

We stayed in the Hilton Dreams Hotel from late August for 9 days & had a fantastic time!

We were staying by the tropical pool towards the back of the hotel which had a swim up bar attached (the bar tender was very friendly too). We found that all the staff at the hotel were very friendly & eager to make sure that your stay is smooth & enjoyable.
We did not find any problem in getting a deck chair each day & the pool was kept clean & well maintained every day as well.

Our room was spotlessly cleaned every morning, we also liked the petal design the cleaning staff made each day on our freshly made bed!

The hotel was also in a great location (only a 5 minute walk to Naama Bay) & if you get sick of the pools there is a beach across the road & through the other Hilton Hotel.

The breakfast had quite a large selection of food available, but it was the same thing every day. Although tasty, the food in the hotel restaurants is quite pricey, I would reccommend walking the extra few minutes to Naama Bay & eating there.

I think the one down side would be that there are literally hundreds of Russians in the hotel (and everywhere else in Sharm!) & 99% of them are rude, pushy & quite loud, I actually was shoved on more than one occasion by them!

Naama Bay is quite glitzy & loud & many locals trying to get you to buy something from their store with every step you take, so if this is not your cup of tea, I would not advise spending too much time here.
We ate a few meals in Naama Bay & wanted something a little less touristy, so asked the hotel if they could reccommend a good seafood restaurant, they suggested Fares which is located in the Old Market (which is about a 10 minute taxi ride away & should only cost 20 Egyptian pounds to get there). Fares, although not the most attractive looking place, was great food at a great price. We then wandered around the markets & met a lovely shop owner who we then sat with for about 40mins & had Bedouin tea with! If you can find his shop (Awah, which is beside Karkar & the owner is named Ashraf..or Ashley when translated to English!) Tell him that Angus & Dani from London sent you there ;)

All in all I would reccommend Hilton Dreams to anyone heading to Sharm!

Some former reports I can confirm. Rude russians never waiting their turn when collecting breakfast/lunch/dinner are the rule. When you are satisfied when looking to the gorgeous bodies of some of them, you have the chance to resist but don't try to speak to them. What flows from their mouths is neither nice in the question of meaning (they do not speak more than russian) nor in other impression (sorry, had a bad experience in breaths field). Animations are organized nevertheless not for them, but for italians, who are also quite many here. If you don't want to spend a day on the sunbed you have the chance to join the simple "1-2-3-4-hand to the left" things.
Meals could be simply more various. Breakfast: 100% repetitivity. Lunch and dinner: pasta, pasta, and some varying tastes. In the 5* Hilton I was really expecting some more tastes. I was in All Inclusive: drinks are definitely smaller, apart from these who can kill you as the guy behind the bar has mixed the bottles. GinTonic of ca 32degree and 40cl makes impression. I can give the full grade in areas of cleaniness and staff readiness to help. One thing I do not fololow is the lack of the clock in the whole main building with front desk, lobby, restaurants and the principal bar. Should people in holidays wear watches with them really??? If you are not the permanent "complainer" and you appreciate the charm of the best hotels from 10 years ago, its a place for you.

Stayed with a teen age daughter B&B over Easter break. Hotel was Ok - Egiptian 5* can comares to GB star system like Egiptian pound the English pounds value.
Hotel was OK, breakfast served in a grim dark dinig room, where you need to put your elbows right out to grub and run. Some days there was long wait. Otherwise the staff bend backwards to please. By the pool you need to bribe the Towel blokes to get you a grubby towel and a deck chair. Pool is freezing cold - but htis is sometimes an advantage.
The location- Naama Bay - artificial turist sustained developement - British turists get ripped off - big time. I can speak a bit of russian - they have totally differen prices for us, that start at 1/3 off for the russians.
Best restaurant - 'Pomodoro' in Naama.
Those with asthma and/or small children - look out for the hell's wagon - that comes out at about 6 p.m. to poison mosies. It is driven through the towns streets, within the crowded restaurants burning diesel and DDT!
We made a mistake to eat out every night - food was priced at Londonprices at about £30 pp including modest (no starter) middle range main course with one 1/2 lager and no sweet.
That is if you feel like eating after being hustled by the restaurants front men on the 'promenade'.
On a good note- try the coral reef boat trip with snorkeling. It is excellent but requires strong swimmers. Arrange for it on the beach as hotels reps push up the prices - and as with everything else -HUGGLE!

We stayed at the Hilton dreams in a party of 6 and we all had a good time

Reception:

Check in was very smooth and efficient and very helpful staff

Pools:

Well if you can find them all they are great, the large main pool is fantastic, and never a lack of sun beds, for a small tip the towel guy reserved our sun beds in the same place every day

The best pool we found was the Tropical pool, by the exclusive villas, this is quite shallow but very very warm water with a great swim up bar

Beach:

The Beach is a few min walk, and again one end is a little rocky, but on the left is all sand and you can go straight into the water. There is some ok snorkelling here about 100M from the beach a few Coral outcrops.

If you take some rolls from breakfast to the beach you will have your very own marina, where the fish will eat from your fingers - Great

Downside is no all Inclusive bar so need to take water from the bar

Main Caribe Bar

Its Ok, good service and good selection of Drinks

Main Buffett Restaurant:

Good selection of breakfast / Lunch and Dinner avaialble, but does get a little repetetive, lots of Pasta. But plenty to find to eat each day

Tex Mex

It does have a set menu for AI, or reasonably priced al acarte

Italian

Pizza Calzone to die for for £5 and lots of fillings, if you are on AI, just watch they dont add drinks to the bill

Overall a nice hotel, probably more a 4*, but staff and service good, just remember to tip a little and you definately get better service

If you are looking for a relaxing break, ypu cant go far wrong here

Regards

Colin & Helen
