After reading all the reviews I was really looking forward to our 2nd visit to Egypt, previously stayed at Movenpick Casino, which was outstanding, but decided on all-inclusive this time so choose this one.
We had upgraded to a Jacuzzi suite, which was ok, nothing special. Beds awful, it would have been more comfortable to sleep on the floor.
Meals very very average, never hot, no taste and very repetitive.
Defiantly not a five star restaurant, more like Butlins at best.
Managed to find a sun bed easily every day,
After reading reviews expected to be entertained everyday by the wonderful animation team, don't get me wrong they work extremely hard, but if your not under 30 they don't seem interested in you. My husband and I didn’t even get as much as a good morning from them as they walked past until the last day when we were asked to play darts! I know everyone is welcome to join in but it helps if you are in the "with it" group so to speak!! I think they work very hard and it must be difficult to please every one, but I really do think they need to cater more for everyone.
The sun shone and we had a relaxing break, defiantly would not go back, not all its made out to be.

I have just returned from a stay at Coral Sea Imperial and I could not fault it at all! The hotel was spotless and the staff were a credit to them. Everyone we spoke to was really friendly and they were willing to do anything for you without expecting a tip, We stayed in an Ocean front room which was lovely and the bathroom was fine (having read some of the reviews on here, we were expecting the bathroom to be grotty!) It was further away from the main resort so we had no trouble from the animation team. They were based upstairs in the evening so there were plenty of places you could go if you didn't want to hear or see them. Not being a fan of Butlins style entertainment, it wasn't as bad as some of the reviews make out. We ate mainly in the Tiran restaurant which had plenty of choice, the Pizzas and pasta station were lovely. We also tried the Egyptian tent and the Italian restaurant which were both also really nice. We thought the First Choice reps were great here compared to other resorts. Emma and Jamie were very friendly and we always saw at least one of them everyday. We booked three trips through them and actually thought they were good value for money. Thoroughly recommend the red sea cruise and the Ultimate desert experience (book a sand buggy rather than a quad bike though-much more fun!) Amazingly we also found Sharm El Sheikh airport straightforward as well! Overall I thought the whole holiday was brilliant and would recommend it to anyone. I read some of the negative reviews before I went and was expecting a few horrors but couldn't find one thing wrong with the place. My husband and I are already planning to go back there. If you are considering a trip here, please read the amount of positive reviews there are compared to the few negative reviews and don't let it put you off!

This is definately not a five star hotel - our room and Mohamed who cleaned were the only good things about this hotel. Didn`t appreciate the fact that you had to set alarm clock for 6.30a.m. to stand a chance of getting a bed on the beach or by the top pool every time we went near the heated pool there were no beds. Food disgusting told it was an english chef in charge well we can understand now why english food has got such a bad reputation with the rest of the world - went one day for dinner and most of the pans were empty asked one of the waitresses where the food was and she just shrugged her shoulders!! Seen review that it is classed as wheelchair friendly well it definately is not nor for anyone with walking dificulties like myself - reported this to Emma the First Choice rep and was told there were ramps [45 deg ones] and that if you have any form of disability you should not visit Sharm El Sheikh!! Never been to a hotel with segregation is in place for different nationalities - One restaurant for British one for the Italians and the rest fit in where they please. Italians have their own beach space plus beach bar and entertainment area and different arm band colours Lots of niggles in all areas for this hotel and unfortunately we will never set foot in Sharm El Sheikh again

Have to disagree with the negative reviews from this month. Just returned from 2 weeks at Coral Sea - our first visit and would definitely go back. We stayed at the same time as the Rachel and Gavin review - and would definitely agree with their comments.

Room - very clean, bed a bit uncomfortable (very hard) but overall impressed with the room. Upgraded to a sea view - a bit disappointed that this didn't overlook the main part of the beach.

Food /Drinks - Quality of food in Tiran buffet restaurant, we found to be good. Would recommend pasta station. Their attempts at Lamb Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala left a lot to be desired!! We found plenty of choice in the Tiran. You can also eat at the 3 specialist restaurants once each per week - would definitely recommend this - although you have to pay for alcoholic drinks, which we thought were a bit pricey with wine about £4.50 for a small glass! Had the best steak ever at the Cabana Beach Restaurant.

All inclusive beer, wine and spirits were all excellent, good quality and all strong. We have travelled to many different countries and found this to be the best foreign lager! If you want real ales - stay at home!!!

Mohammed at the beach bar looked after us really well. Your glass is constantly topped up!! We went there every lunchtime - lovely to sit there looking at the sea and Mickey the Camel!

Staff - were some of the friendliest we have met on our travels! They do like banter with the females, but we found this was all in good fun, and never felt uncomfortable. The staff really want you to enjoy your holiday. We didn't get involved with the entertainment, but the staff certainly work hard and seem to put on a good programme.

We spent our evenings in the downstairs lobby bar, where we found the staff to be really pleasant and a relaxing atmosphere.

Went on a snorkling boat trip (booked with Aquaries on the beach). A good price, but to be honest saw better fish and corals snorkling at hotel beach. The first dive site was far too rough and really scary, quite a few people were seasick! Second and Third snorkling sites were really pretty. Staff on boat were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend using the natural swimming pool at the far left end of the beach - a lovely area with some great snorkling where you can get really close to the fish and corals.

Both pool area's are good, fairly easy to get a chairbed, which were very comfortable. A good towel service at all pools and beach.

We really enjoyed two lots of Spa treatments - massages and body scrubs. Luckily we booked with the cheaper company. The Spa was taken over by a new company at the end of our holiday and the prices were much more expensive.

Overall a very good value for money holiday, great location and lovely staff. First Choice rate this as a 4* plus, so people's expectations shouldn't be too high, but we would definitely go back again at the same time next year.

We are just back from a week at this hotel and can only say at best it is very average. We found it very strange that there so many fantastic reports on it (all mentioning the staff) and every so often one that reflects the truth.
The staff were friendly enough but no more so than anywhere else in Egypt. That is the nature of the Egyptian people.
The food was unimpressive. Yes I could usually find something to eat but for me part of a holiday is enjoying good food, not making do.
We had a few gripes. We booked a massage to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It sounded fantastic. A body treatment followed by a massage of our choice. When we turned up for it we were told we could have the massage and to come back later in the week for the treatment as they had no ingredients! We chose to cancel it as we felt this didn't hold the same appeal. We got our money back but no-one actually apologised for our dissapointment.
We booked the seafood restaurant through the number we were given but when we got there there was no record of our booking. Despite the fact the restaurant was almost empty the head waiter was very grudging to give us a table and then stomped around and practically threw our food at us. My husband had a salad with an ant in it and a steak which he said was actually very nice. My starter was ok but the seabream was disgusting. We were made to feel most unwelcome.
The service and the food in the Italian restaurant was much better, they just didn't have anything they advertised.
There were many more problems but the sun shone, the snorkelling was good and we enjoyed each other's company.
As I said before it's strange this hotel is so far up the ratings. This was our 4th time in Egypt and definately the worst hotel we'd stayed in. There is a far better standard of hotel out there for about the same price

My husband and I have just returned from Coral Sea Imperial and we loved our stay. The animation team work very long hours for very little money and are an asset to the hotel. Special thanks to Madu and Mido. The enertainment is very butlins style and is on a weeks rolling programme so if you are there two weeks you get to see the shows again. Well I say shows, it involves the guess getting up on stage and making the entertainment playing games.

The hotel is not a five star and there is very little waitor service, we didn't mind as we just looked after ourselves. But for people wanting to be looked after this is not the hotel, its more self service in a cafe. Food was okay and you could always find something to eat, I found the flies most off putting though. Also in the afternoons when they deliver the cakes by the pool, they are left and the birds are all over them which is very off putting.

Unforunately we both had upset stomachs, people say its the money, but we dealt in English money. I think its more the heat and the different way of cooking foods. Beer and wine is bearable and the spirits are horrible. The bar closes at 11pm which I think is early, you can still buy drinks from the other bars though.

The First Choice trips are a rip off especially the VIP boat cruise there is nothing VIP about it. Be warned, they say the trips are 20 mins travelling try over 1hour 30mins and 9 pick ups later. Book your trips from the people on the beach, they are lovely people and the trip are very good, especially Tiran Island.

The hotel location is fab as is the snorkelling from the jetty. We found all staff at the hotel and on the beach to be very friendly. They do try and sell trips but as soon as you say no they don't bother you again.

The rooms are kept very clean, we upgraded and worth the extra money.
