Myself and my new wife and our 5 year old daughter arrived at the imperial on the 15th of jan for a relaxing two week holiday.
We landed at sharm airport about 7pm on the thursday and despite what we had heard previously about the airport being terrible we were in the hotel reception just after 8pm which wasnt bad at all, The airport transfer was no more than 15minutes.

We were greeted very warmly at reception and was not expecting such great service, we were taken to our beach front room by golf cart, it was the best welcoming i've ever received. The room was very nice but think they were having trouble with the air con as it wasn't really cold air coming out, apart from that i cannot fault the room whatsoever!!

The restaurants,
The Tiran- mostly catered for breakfast and lunches, the breakfast was probably my least favourite of the meals as egyptians dont have pork, but plenty of eggs and fruit to get a good start to the day, everyone tends to go to breakfast at 5to10 when they are finishin up which can be annoying when queing for the egg station. Lunch was very good, plenty of choice for us brits to feel at home, not quite as nice as uk food quality but definately acceptable for an all inclusive resort.
Pharoes- catered for evening meals and wasn't amazing but ok, don't really see much local food which is a bit of disappointment, still there is something for everyone there, my wife didnt really enjoy the food and said it was bland, but everyone else i spoke to said they found it fine. The staff in both those restaurants were brilliant and friendly.
The Italian- Was ok, worth going but you have to pay for your drinks there, the lasagne was quite good in my opinion.
Cabana Restaurant- Was sceptical about this one on the basis of what i had seen on trip advisor but was pleasantly surprised, i had the meat mixed grill which is brought to the table on a mini bbq heating grill, very nice and lovely to eat by the beach.

The beach- very nice and very comfortable sunbeds.

Heated pool- being a beach person i tended to go to the beach but we found ourselves being dragged to the heated pool by our daughter in the afternoons, was very nice but only certain sun loungers keep the sunlight allday, the shadows caused by the sun shades make it a little chilly and you find yourself moving your sun lounger every 5minutes chasing sunlight!!

Excursions-
We went with first choice and decided to prebook our seats on the flight home, we payed the 16pounds at the meeting with the reps and were told we could pick up our receipt at a later time, unfortunately when we found the reps the following week to book our trips and pick up our receipts for the flight home the same reps who took our money denied all knowledge of us giving them the money and we were left to pay for the seats again.

Cairo by bus- we decided to book the trip to cairo which was quite adventrous especially with a 5year old girl. We waited in reception at 1am to be picked up by the coach, as we waited one of the guys behind reception called me over, he asked me if i had pre-booked some breakfast boxes for the cairo trip to which i replied no, he went under the desk and gave my two bags full of food, at 1 o'clock in the morning the staff at the hotel were still giving their all to make our stay perfect, i was ever so grateful for this. The coach ride ended up being around 8hours which was quite tough for us, we arrived in cairo at 9.30 and the brilliant tour guide took us first to the mohammed ali mosque(not the boxer). Then learned how papyrus paper was made. Then we went to see the pyramids which was very impressive- the sellers around the pyramids and sphinx aren't to bad just say you have no money and they tend to just let you go, then lunch on the nile which had me and even my wife wanting to get back to pharoes which made us think that maybe egypt in general isn't great for food. Then probably the best part of the trip which was the museum in cairo, with tutun kamun's tombs and everything found inside it, very intersting if you get a good tour guide like we did.
around 17.30 we got back on the coach to go back to sharm, another 8hours back and we were very happy to get back to the comfort of the coral.

We went to naama bay, and i have to say i wasnt impressed, it reminded me a bit of magaluf if im honest, maybe if i'd been there with my mates rather than my wife and kids i would have enjoyed it.
We got conned in the mall there when we came down an escalator and my daughter was drawn in by one of the guys making the glass sand ornaments which is quite impressive but he already started making our daughter one without our consent, had no choice after our daughter kicked up a fuss but to purchase one which became two then we got one free, the guy didnt seem to want to haggle as he knew my daughter was getting the ornaments(so prepare your kids in these places), we ended up paying around 35english pounds for these 3 ornaments, well and truly stitched up, what made it worse was the two we had made smashed on the flight home despite fairly careful packing and the free one was fine, if you do get drawn into buying one then buy the rectangular ones as the rounder ones are rubbish.

Evening Entertainment
Our first night was a friday night and after the mini kids disco they had a quiz, which initially we didnt want to get involved in but after seeing a few wrong answers we felt obliged to get involved and win a bottle of brandy.
The animation team must've thought we were very moody as my wife wasn't drinking due to pregnancy and i was just trying to avoid being pulled up on stage but they still persisted in to making us laugh constantly and made everyone feel involved with the activities.
I finally got dragged onstage on the sunday night where i was dresses as a woman, to be honest i wasn't to happy about it but as long as a few people got a laugh then i'm happy to assist.
The guys that do the entertainment are very good, i remember a very funny sketch they did involving rich and poor people.
Our daughter was very impressed by them and pretty much wouldnt leave the female animation team alone, the kids mini disco is good, although the songs are as annoying as a song can be you still get a little excited each nite when your hear your favourite one.
The alcohol in the evening is pretty poor in all honesty, the service is good but the quality of all the spirits is poor, the beer is bearable but the red wine tasted more like weak sangria.

anyway sorry to anyone that read the whole thing but wanted to be honest and thorough, overall was very impressed with the coral sea imperial and would definately go back.

We are counting the days till we return to the fantastic Coral Sea Imperial (The Conrad when we were there). We had such a great time, never before experienced such friendly staff at an hotel before, from the cleaners, to the reception staff,  the pool guys, the Bar staff, Mickey the Camel, the warm friendly lovely waiters and of course, the Animation Team who work extremely hard and are great fun! This hotel is a gem and when we return on April 16th we hope all our old friends from the hotel will be there, it will be so great to see everyone of you again. Our sincere best wishes to the whole team and...see you real soon.
Best Wishes from PHIL & ROGER

We were very sad to leave, but hopefully will be going back again next year. Would recommend the quad biking to everyone but not the day to st catharines monastary unless your old!! Dont get in a taxi unless its blue and white.

Just returned from a week at C.S.I. Had an excellent week. Staff very friendly and helpful.Nothing was too much trouble for them.Very hard working but always a smile. Room was immaculately cleaned and bedsheets changed daily. Food was good with enough choices for anyone...but may get monotonous if you stayed for more than one week. Local alcohol drinks on the all inclusivepackage were ok and nothing more than what we expected. Were presented with a birthday cake and the bed was nicely decorated on the day which made it extra special and a nice surprise. Entertainment was fairly good and varied. We stayed in a standard double room which was very nice and above average however the sea view which we paid extra for was not worth it. The smaller pool was heated and quite warm but have your towel ready to wrap up when you come out as you can feel the winter wind. The hotel is quite a way from Naama bay about 15-20mins drive and there is very little to do in the vicinity. It is good for relaxing and if you like to base your stay round the hotel life. if you like venturing out every day it might be expensive as taxi return to Naama bay cost L.E 80 to L.E 100. Shuttle bus from the hotel is L.E 25 per person one way. If you want to go to the Sharm Old market get a taxi outside the hotel for L.E 50 one way. If ordered from the hotel it will cost you L.E 100 .In general the hotel is clean, comfortable, on the beach and friendly staff. Would we return there again. No as we don't return to same place twice but I would dabsolutely recommend C.S.I if you want a place to chill out.
