Coral Sea Sensatori - Sharm El Sheikh
Ranked #34 of 231 Hotels in Sharm El Sheikh
Reviewed November 23, 2011

Myself and my wife stayed at the hotel for 11 nights at the start of November and loved every minute of it. Check in was done in seconds despite there being numerous people checking in and we were taken to our room which was in block 1.
Room
The room was a double with a seaview and a whirlpool on the balcony. The rooms are spacious, clean and well decorated and the balcony was private with stunning views. The bathroom was also spacious however we found the bath slightly narrow. There was also a shower and the pressure of the water was very good.
Food
For an all inclusive hotel I have to say the food was very good. The fountain restaurant which was the main buffet had a large selection of food and had cooking stations were food was being cooked as you waited, there was also something for everyone. All of the other restaurants were equally as good and have a good variety of food on offer. I found that alot of people posting reviews were moaning about the booking system for the other restauraunts but we never had to wait more than 2 minutes and we booked at all times during the day and evening!!
Pools were also great we spent our days around the main pool as it was heated. The activity staff are very good. The will not come over and bother you at all or pressure guests to get involved if they do not wish to do so.
he best thing about the hotel has to be the staff , special mentions to Nabil by the pool bar and Saied in the fountain. These guys all work so hard all day long and really helped make our stay all the better. Regardless of tipping or not you will get a good service.
For Egypt I would say this is definetly a 5 star hotel and its a great place to go for both families and couples.
The evening entertainment is also the best we have seen in an all-inclusive resort. Allin all this is a great resort and anyone going should have a great time!!

Room Tip: Block 1 high floor for those looking for a sea view and privacy on the balcony

The hotel is obviously very new and in great condition. Amazing facilities with a great gym and spa. The Lady Gaga and Frank Sinatra tributes were briliiant. The Piano Bar entertainment not to my taste but you can't please everyone! Restaurants were fine with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. This is my 5th visit to Egypt and I have never been wowed by the food so I wasn't expecting 5 star food anyway.
The rooms are spacious and well spread out. We were concerned as we couldn't get a room in the adult block having booked quite late, but needn't have worried as there were few children aside from those in the family block.
The pools all seemed great, but with the Red Sea right there it was the beach every day for us. My only niggle would be that the beach was quite scruffy and for a brand new resort the beach furniture was all a bit battered but more than compensated by the great service we received from Ahmed who really looked after us.
5th different place I have stayed in Egypt and one I would definitely return to.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view.

This was our 20th trip to Egypt and mostly stayed in 5 star hotels so we were expecting something extra special from this one - what a disappointment. Views, location and staff were excellent. The hotel though is just an average 5 star and not the advertised "5 star Creme de la Creme". The following individually might seem trivial but when added together made our trip less than expected. There was no WOW factor, There did not appear to be any spraying of the grounds morning or evening thus resulting in many people suffering bites, I gave up counting when I got to 20 and we spoke to at least 3 people who had to have their rooms fumigated. We spent our relaxing time by the adult pool, the material on all of the soft sunbeds was torn and there was a rusty pipe connecting the bottom two walk down steps. Tea and coffee facilities in the room comprised of coffee, tea bags, sugar, creamer and plastic stirrers, tea drinkers don't usually put creamer in their tea and even a normal 5 star hotel would give you spoons, the Jacuzzi jets didn't work in our bath. There were problems with getting hot drinks in the restaurant at lunch and evening meal. In the theatre one of the balcony glass screens was shattered. On checking out I went to reception and gave them my room number and was not surprised when the response was "what's wrong with it". I am not saying don’t go there, but don’t expect too much until they have ironed out all the little glitches.

Its difficult to fault this one, Thomson have got the package right at this Hotel for a relaxing, no hassle "take it easy" holiday which is clearly due to the fact that this hotel is designed to Thomson's specification. Rooms, food and facilties are excellent, plenty of tables in the restaraunt at all times and loads of sunbeds by the pools so no searching around which is refreshing especially when you roll up at 9:30 - 10:00 ish. Pleasant staff make your holiday special and everyone we met was excellent, Radi at the pool bar was exceptional, he looked after us every day. The Thomson team Nick, Nicky, Anja, Emma and Stella are dedicated to this hotel and could not have been more helpful. If you want a lively hotel with pleanty of noise, partying till late and an all night disco....... stay somewhere else. If you want to chil - relax and generally takle it easy, then this is the place for you. Our 1st visit to Thomson's Sensatory and it will not be our last. Robert & Linda

My Husband and I stayed here for 10 days from 11th november for our honeymoon. This hotel is stunning we had a swim up room and after looking around at other rooms we felt that ours was probably one of the best there (room 3111). The staff here just couldn't do enough for you and work very long hours. We did tip but we thought that even without that we would of had fantastic service, everyone was friendly and always stopped to chat with us. A special mention has to go to Tito & Mohammed in the lobby bar and Shaun on the concierge desk they made our holiday what is was. I would recommend going to see Cico in the picture shop he is lovely and has some beautiful pictures which he will sell for a good price. The one problem we had was the food it was a bit hit and miss which was a real shame, but it certainly did not ruin our holiday. As other people have said yes there were people there with tattoos myself and my husband included but this not mean that them or us are troublemakers! And if you are shallow enough to think that then I feel sorry for you! All in all an amazing holiday with some fantastic extra touches due to it being our honeymoon and we cannot wait to return.

Love the hotel and the facilities. We were in a swim up room and we were lucky that this room had lovely sea views. The sports facilities are good (we played tennis and used the gym), the pools are all nice and the staff around the pools and sports staff are all very friendly.
If you have read other reviews you will by now know about this booking system for the a la carte restaurants. We did not wish to eat in the buffet restaurant in the evening as this was where we ate breakfast and lunch and also its not my idea of an enjoyable meal. In my opinion the only restaurant worth eating in that is included in the all inclusive price is the Italian, although it is difficult to book and we only managed to get it for the last 2 nights of our holiday. We ate in both restaurants that charge - the stone grill and the chinese, both were good and good value for money (around £50 for starter/main and 2 drinks for 2 ppl) however it does annoy a little when you have paid all inclusive. The other 2 a la carte restaurants were awful.
The buffet at lunchtime is OK, but so far away from 5 star.
I used the spa, had a facial and a pedicure. Both were OK, however the nail polish was put on so thickly that it actually smudged when I put shoes on 5 HOURS later! so out came the nail polish remover and that was a waste.
All in all I loved the resort layout and ambiance, the entertainment we enjoyed a couple of evenings although not normally our thing but it was all good quality and entertaining. Just really disappointed at the food standards and unfortunately this would put me off other Sensatori resorts. I would rate this a 5 star resort with 3 star food.

This is true 5 star luxury, and service at its very best.

We were greeted from the plane and our luggage was taken directly to our rooms from the airport. The rooms are huge and very comfortable, and the bathroom was luxurious. We had a pool view which was lovely, but will book a sea view next time as the views over the red sea and Tiran Island are spectacular, especially at sunset and sunrise.

The service from all staff including the Thomson reps was first class. They treat you with so much respect, and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Special mention to Mohammed at the front pool (who brought regular poolside drinks and was great for a laugh), the Fountain restaurant manager (who's name escapes me, but he's a true gent) and Ahmed on the jetty for making the trespassing Russians go away!

The food is excellent and you get a great choice of restaurants as part of the all-inclusive, plus two that you can pay for. We did not sample the latter as very happy with the others, but all reports we heard were good. Wine and local spirits were good so no need to buy branded products unless you really want to.

The jetty - great for snorkelling (the fish and coral are breathtaking) so suggest you try it! We bought our gear from George (loves to haggle) in the parade of shops near the hotel for about £16, so great value for a memorable experience.

This hotel attracts lovely people (mainly English, but we met some Belgians and Italians) so there's a relaxed, friendly atmosphere wherever you go.

Finally - great entertainment. They put on a show in the theatre/auditorium virtually every night (flying some acts out for the night e.g., comedians and Frank Sinatra/Lady Gaga cover artists), or you can hang out in the piano bar with Nick the musician & singer (lovely chap).

I could carry on- but we'll be going back in March so that really says it all!

Room Tip: Request a sea view when you get there as free or cheaper than when you book (unless in peak season...
