Hotel is excellent, all of the Staff are very friendly and helpfull, they cannot do enough for you. Special thanks go to Ahmed Radwan for our fantastic cocktails and good company and hope all goes well for him, he deserves it, Azza for all of her help in the restaurant and explaining to us our way around the complex, Mena Anwar and Ayman for our ever constant supply of drinks, Rasha for just being Rasha and not forgetting Mido for his daily visits to try and involve us in the entertainment. The animation team are all very friendly and work very hard to keep everyone entertained and a good job was done by all. I wish that I could name all of these lovely people but there are just too many to mention.

Had a talk with the executive chef regarding menu's for special diets and has told us that any diet will be catered for and any information required contact the hotel and they will be happy to help.

I would highly recommend this hotel and will definately be returning and hope that all of the staff are still there, they are wonderful.

I have suggested that maybe a different coloured bracelet is supplied for under 18's as it is unfair to the bar staff to have to guess the age of a child and as we all know especially girls can look alot older then they really are.

Hilton 5 star i think not The staff were really kind and polite.but do not have the right training to carry out 5 star service. There where so many managers waliking about doing nothing. The food in the main food hall was just slop and cold at that. The resort has 4 other eating places which you have too book and they are nice.Overhall the Hotel is not 5 star not a chance. We only paid £750 each for 1 wk so cant complain about the price but its the fact it was sold to me as 5 star and its not.

Spent one week at this hotel and didn't want to come home. The rooms are large with good sized balconies and fantastic views, however the furniture is a little tired and needs to be replaced and the bathrooms would benefit from a refit. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space though. Main buffet restaurant is spotlessly clean with plenty of choice at every meal and the Lebanese, Shish Bish and Verdi's are all really good with the option of an A La Carte menu should you so wish. The best thing of all is the staff - they are absolutely wonderful, particuarly Neama Sayad the hostess in the dining room who was just brilliant, nothing was ever too much trouble, always checking that everything was to our liking, a real professional at her job, and a real asset to the hotel. Also Mohammed Hassan in the main buffet restaurant whose knowledge of the history of Egypt was amazing and who was always helpful. Only down side were the crowds of Russians who are not very gracious people at all, but it wouldn't stop us going back. We had a fantastic time.

Please read the negative reviews about this hotel carefully. Most of the complaints about the food are from people who expect chips to be served at each meal! When I'm in Egypt I expect to be served local food and that is what we got for the most part but the choice was HUGE. I'm going to focus on the food for my review because that seems to be where most of the negative comments come from so please xcuse the detail.

Is there limited choice as some have suggested (last reviewed said there was only a hard-boiled egg for breakfast)? For breakfast, there is typically a choice of: hard-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, omlettes made to order, fried eggs made to order, pancakes, waffles, plain yoghurts, flavoured yoghurts, 5 choices of cereals, cold meats, cheeses, croissants, bread, toast, danish pastries, fresh fruit plus a selection of hot local food (beef bacon, mini sausages, tomatoes, foul etc). This is available EVERY day.

For lunch and dinner there is ALWAYS a large selection of salad items, including both plain salads (e.g. grated carot, cucumbers, red cabbage) and prepared salads (e.g. pasta dishes, tabouleh, potato salads etc). Usually about 12 items to choose from. There is ALWAYS at least one choice of soup. There is ALWAYS pasta in a tomato sauce AND pasta in a cream sauce. In addition, there is then a selection of 3-4 hot dishes accompanied by a variety of vegetables. The hot dishes were based on a theme with the restuarant having a different theme each evening (e.g. Oriental, Worldwide, Chinese, Lebanese etc) and there was always a choice of meat and fish. There is always a rice dish on offer and a potato dish on offer. In addition, the carvery always served an additional hot choice e.g. freshly grilled local fish, stuffed chicken roulade, meat and veg pie. The carvery also always had a small selection of vegetables without sauces (i.e. served plain). I noted that on occassions, chips were also available here. The buffet also included a wide variety of desserts including cakes, custards, pastries etc as well as a selection of fresh fruit.

Being a buffet self-serve operation, on occassions a particular item ran out and there was perhaps a 3-5 minute wait until the dish was changed. However, this is understandable and to be honest, most times the dishes were changed BEFORE they were actually empty. Sayeed, the head chef, was often available in the buffet area and was always willing to help, provide advice and event to cook anything special. On one occassion he made us a local dessert (some kind of milk pudding with pastries!). Delicious.

The service in the restaurant was superb. On occassions it got very busy and you may not always get immediate attention but that's no different from any other restaurant. There were occassion queues for the restaurant at peak times but we simply noted what the times were and avoided them! No big deal. We got fantastic service, especially from Abdo and Hossam who made our meal times extremely enjoyable. They were only too pleased to help..... and not because we had to keep tipping them. We only gave a tip at our last meal. In fact, in comparison to Tunisia where we went last year, we noticed that staff did NOT expect constant tipping.

We did observe, as others have, that the hotel has many guests from Russia and you therefore cvan't blame the hotel for offering services etc to attract them. This did not have any impact on our holiday. Although this is a bit of a generalisation, we did notice that the Russians were generally quite rude to the hotel staff (e.g. clicking their fingers for attention, no "please" and "thank you") so it is understandable if the level of service they received was lower. I'm amazed that some of the staff kept their professionalism given the rude behavious they sometimes put up with!

The staff at this hotel really go out of their way to make your holiday enjoyable. A small example. We made ourselves a cup of coffee in our room before breakfast and then later in the day but only had 2 sachets of coffee on the tea/coffee tray. We asked our room cleaner if we could have 4 coffee sachets each day and for the remainder of our stay he made sure there were always 4 coffee sachets. Just a small example but typical of how you only have to ask and they'll do what they can to help.

Final point - the "animation team", responsible for the entertainment. Yes, they're really there for the 20's/30's age group and the entertainment is not going to be everyone's choice. How can you please over 600 guests?? But we found the 45-minute evening shows entertaining and fun.... just don't take like too seriously and you'll enjot it too. If you're after more sophisticated entertainment, that is available locally in a wide number of clubs, hotels, casinos etc.

We had a great time and are looking forward to a return visit next year.
