Dreams Beach Resort
Ranked #111 of 231 Hotels in Sharm El Sheikh

Hi
Just got back this week so thought I would put some comments on. Mainly supporting what others have said in recent reviews.
The hotel is in an area which has a steep access to the water so this hotels water level access is great to have.
Staff all very helpful, from room cleaning to restaurants and reception. The location is joined to its sister hotel which means you have extra locations to use for things like food loactions extra. In general the all inclusive restaurants were good with a varied selection of foods on each day. The other restaurants were also of good quality, put you have to pay extra.
The location is currently reasonably quite, due to fewer european visitors and no Russian visitors. I was told this is about to change as of 1st April when Russian flights will be resuming.
The onsite dive team from Pharaoh Divers were very keen to help and give assistance if required. The local reef is a good initial dive and the quality of what you can see is quite good. Difficult to give fair evaluation as we had a windy week so visability was not what I would have expected. Great for a bit of snorkeling though.
Hotel run free bus service to Namma Bay each night which is quick and very efficient.
The hotel has three of its own pools, but only one heated, but then that is only needed in the winter. The sister hotel has a great complex of 5 pools.

Just returned from Dream Beach, never been to egypt before didnt what to expect.
can say with honesty this is a really great hotel, what makes it so good is the staff.
They cant do enough for you and not always looking for tips though they are appreciated.
Chico and Ibrahim in the main bar are really good fun and always happy to chat.

The rooms are spacious and clean, comfortable, air conditioning not very strong.

The food at dreams is of a good standard in the main restaurants, we chose to eat at the love boat, mexican, bedouin and asia house. All your drinks are included in the service charge. we were 3 adults paying between £30-£40 a time in total but well worth it.

We went into Naama Bat with the reps had a good night and went into the desert for a camel ride and star gazing.

We will definately return to Egypt and like many of the people we met will go back to Deams as know what to expect, we had no sickness as everywhere spotless.

They have a new heated swimming pool, spa centre and gym , My husband had 2 hours
in the spa using the steam room and getting a full body massage for just £30. seemed to be doing lots of deals as resort quiet as Russians not going at the moment, so take a few pound more and get some treats for yourself reat value.

Also look outside your hotel for excursions. Talking to people we had paid over the odds for our camel trip. Also you can swim with the Dolphins my daighter ths this and loved it.

This was our first trip to Egypt and there was mixed opinions about what egypt was but like, suppose its like anything you got to see for yourself! We arrived at Dreams Beach Resort on the 14th March 2011, first impressions was beautiful, the rooms were lovely too, very clean and spacious, was also impressed at the 32inc wide screen tv! The maids came in everyday and changed towels etc. In Dreams Beach there was 5 resturants which you could e at from with the all inculsive part, even the sister hotel had 5 resturants all of which we could use for free. The gardens/pull areas were always clean and tidy. The bits that made it all stand out for me was the private beach as its situation on a cliff once you walk down a few stairs you look onto crystal blue waters full of beautiful coral and fancy looking fish. The weather was also fabulous, 30degrees in march. I cant fault this hotel at all, to me it was my best holiday even the staff couldnt be more helpful! i would go back in a minute. I hope this information is helpful for anyone thinking of booking this hotel, if not ask anything you want and ill try answer it for you.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here in November 10, over the period of the much publicised shark attacks. A quick one on that before I start, use a bit of common sense and you will be fine!
Onto the hotel, it was our first time in Egypt and the airport was an experience in itself, we got hearded around like sheep to buy visas I think it was 15 US for a visa and is a must if travelling outside the red sea riviera, this includes diving and snorkling trips and Cairo however its fine if you dont plan to leave dry land or Sharm El Sheikh but its always good to have that option. Also unless you want to pay and not recieve any change make sure you have the correct money to hand.

Our first impressions of the hotel where fantsatic and that went for the facilities and rooms, I read about people being disappointed with the room standard but unless you go somewhere and stay in a suite a hotel room is a hotel room.

When lounging around the pool try not to lie under the slide as you stand a high chance of getting soaked! The staff here are so friendly and if you make the effort to try and learn a few words in Arabic from them and experience their culture they will do anything for you. You can get hassled your first couple of days to spend money on things the guys around the pools sell (anything from hair braids to diving) they dont work for the hotel so if you do feel bothered by them then let the hotel staff know and it will be sorted, after a day or two though they still stop to talk but you can bat them off with banter and they are really friendly.

My only criticism of the hotel was how much we spent over two weeks even though it was all inclusive, this was by choice though as their is only three restaurants where you wont incur a charge, the beach grill, main restaurant and italian, theres other places such as the mexican and indian on the sister hotel (both excellent) and the a la carte in the foyer which again is excellent!.

I would advice to gather up lots of small notes and egyptian coins to tip as is customary. I felt a bit wound up when I didnt have any small notes and felt that I must tip! But again the way around this is to have small coins and notes in Egyptian.

A big point that I wasnt happy with was nothing to do with my hotel but please beware of travel money cards! Its very hard to lose track of how much you spend you then spend a fortune calling the UK to find out how much you still have on the cards and I got double charge using mine at the cash point! Once to draw it out and once to convert from US to Egyptian! Thomas cook are also a bit of a joke(not the reps fault) when they advertise these cards yet you cant book an excursion using the card!

The room cleaners are very friendly and again love it if you bother to learn a bit of the lingo and greet them in Arabic, tip them something like 5 Egyptian every couple of days otherwise your towels will get changed later and later in the day!

When you go out and about to the town centre avoid using the taxi rank down town! Speak to the hotels taxis and they will arrange to pick you up at an agreed time....The taxi drivers down town are outrageous and although I found it funny my Girlfriend was a bit terrified by the experience!

We went to Cairo which was great but please fly the bus journey is very long. The waterpark was ok but nothing compared to the likes of Spanish or American waterparks, the dune buggies was a great day and the snorkling was good if you havent been before.

All in all a great two week holiday and would love to go back to sharm sometime in the future.

Enjoy your holiday!

We travelled here in March for a fortnight as a party of two adults on AI board basis.
We travelled with Thomson from Cardiff on a cramped, old and uncomfortable aeroplane. There were no issues upon arrival or departure in Egypt; in fact it was pretty seamless. The transfers were arranged through ‘youtravel’. The holiday booking was made through a company called 'Broadway travel' that provided and excellent holiday.

Location – Firstly the hotel is definitely not a 5* and the rating fluctuates with different brochures but is at best 4*. The hotel is situated out of town from Naama Bay, in Sharm El Sheikh. This was easily reached by taxi from outside the hotel at a cost of 2 Egyptian Pounds each way or a free hotel bus between 21:00 and 00:01hrs. It is a typical busy town with street sellers trying to tempt all tourists into their shops in order that they can make some money. We did find a mall close to the hotel called El Mercado which had many shops but didn’t have the hassle. We also found Old Sharm town to be quieter and we could buy the family presents!

Hotel- Reception (Shady) was very helpful any time of day or night. The hotel offered an ATM and GBP exchange which was very handy if you take sterling with you. is of a good standard and the service (Ibrahim, Mohamed, Arfaat & Michael) is impeccable. The hotel has a number of bars and restaurants. As it was quiet we used them several time to vary the dining experience. The bar beneath the Love boat was excellent, the pancakes and coffee and drinks were complimented with a very friendly atmosphere. The hotel generally including rooms, grounds and pool were extremely clean. We had a standard room which had a fabulous sea view but it did need a little updating in the bathroom. Tipping is collected and always shared between all the staff even though we never felt under pressure to tip every time we were served.

The AI drinks were always plentiful and the coffee was exceptional. The food choice was varied with meats/seafood/salad and catered well for vegetarians.

Spa – Not used

Entertainment – The animation team did work hard in the day and evening. We were disappointed that apart from a pianist there was no entertainment in the hotel reception, come lobby, come bar or as we called it ‘God’s waiting room’. The nightclub was very quiet but did offer a form of entertainment for all ages looking for a little variety in the evening.

Although an Egyptian pound is the currency, Dollars, Sterling, Euros or any currency was accepted. Bartering was required for everything even the blue and white taxis. An estimated purchase price guide was approximately 50% of the asking price.

We travelled to Israel by bus to visit Jerusalem and Dead Sea. The trip was booked by the Thomson rep at a cost of £145 each; we did not contemplate the numerous trips selling companies scattered around the area offering a cheaper deal. This was overall a breathtaking experience even though it was a 24hr trip. Have dollars or shekels with you to buy food, presents etc.

Make sure at night you have mosquito repellent or buy Sandalwood/Lavender oils on site (£4GBP each). These worked for us and kept the critters away.

All in all it was a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

The only downsides if we are being very critical were:

1. You are hounded by hotel sellers ‘on site’ offering restaurant cuisine, spa and beauty treatment at extra charge. This was tiresome but all the boys were very friendly.
2. There is a steep climb from the beach to the hotel which is tiresome. However we met a couple with a disability who were provided transport by hotel management.
3. There was no free Wi-Fi for guests at reception which is a bit odd in 2011. It was available from reception at a cost of £3 for 30minutes.

The complex is well kept, very clean and tidy. The staff are real friendly and want to help. We had a great time for my daughters 21st birthday. Things to do, snorkell in the sea or indeed take a boat trip with the resort, Kerry is your guide and he is a great guy, looked after all and made sure we were OK. Food is well cooked and a good selection, entertainment was OK, good karaoke night and the team are nice lads. The pools around the complex well maintained and 2 are heated. Overall I think they deserve the 4 stars.
