“Most pleasant hotel stay ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2011

The staff at this hotel, from the management to the waiters and beach staff, made this the most pleasant holiday I have ever had. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile. Refreshingly, it was obvious the staff were not after tips, but seemed to genuinely enjoy what they were doing and being "nice".

As a result of course, they were generously tipped at the end of the holiday.

The hotel itself has what I regard as the best position in Narma Bay, overlooking the bay and beaches. The roof-top pool sundeck is just superb as the views are amazing and it catches the breeze making the heat bearable. On cooler days, the beach is sheltered. Finally, on my eighth trip to Sharm, I have found the perfect location. It is very close to the centre, but remote enough from the main street for the late night "boom-boom" music not to be problem.

This may only be a 4Star hotel but I think that is an injustice. OK, it doesn't have a fitness suite or sauna, but that doesn't matter. It is beautifully clean, the food is excellent and the rooms well appointed. A kettle is provided along with complimentary teas and coffee. I have stayed in so called luxury 5stars in Rome and Paris that do not provide this and certainly don't have such nice staff.

This hotel is for those who want a quiet relaxing holiday in lovely surroundings. It is not for those who want loud music, an entertainment team that think that everyone wants to scream and shout.

The breakfast restaurant has an open air section literally three yards from the sea. Just superb. There is also a unique restaurant built out over the sea where an evening meal can be taken whilst watching the wonderful fish swimmimg around and underneath.

As I said, the most pleasant of places to stay.

We stayed on all inclusive basis for 2 weeks and had a wonderful holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and we spent most of our time around the pool. The pool man, Makraam, put our towels out every morning and brought us face flannels, which smelt of menthol, a few times a day, absolutely bliss. The food was good and varied but my favourite part has to be the desserts which really were delicious. Our second floor room overlooked Naama Bay where the boats were loaded each morning for diving etc and it was great to sit on the balcony and watch all the activity in the sunshine. Mohammed (barman) was really friendly and knowledgeable and we spent a good few nights enjoying light hearted banter. Sami and the rest of the waiters were also excellent and were always attentive without being intrusive. Having read previous reports about noise from the Pacha Bar I was slightly concerned but it didn't affect us at all and in fact once the balcony door was shut you really couldn't hear anything. It was our first visit to Sharm but honestly believe it will not be the last and would definitely return to this hotel. So miss the gorgeous weather, hot during the day but cool and fresh in the evenings. Thank you to everyone at the Lido

Room Tip: Second Floor is best for lovely views

we came back from the lido on march 28th after one week and once again we enjoyed ourselves.
we were dissapointed to find that on our first three days the pool had no water due to repairs but we could use the hotel next door, the only problem we found with that was when we asked for water and something to eat we were told to go back to our hotel or pay for it there and then so we decided to just stay by the hotels empty pool untill it was repaired.
with regret we have now decided that that was our last time at the lido-not because of the hotel but because we feel it dos'nt warrent the price just for b+b.we were going to book as usual for two weeks in september but once again the price has gone up by quite a few hundred pounds.
we feel this is a shame as for a stand alone hotel with the best views ever it dos'nt warrent the hike in price.
we have been going there for sum 6 yrs now but the rooms are still the same with the same colour and layout which we feel for the price could be doing with being updated.
most of the hotel has been updated and it looks fantastic but a pity about the rooms.
the staff from the bottom to the top have been absolutely fantastic to us over the years so dont be put of by my small comments.
we would like to take this opertunity and say a big big thank you to everyone at the iberotel lido for some fantasic years-perhaps just perhaps maybe one day we will return.
we will miss this little jem.

Good morning Mr. Leckenby;
I hope my email finds you well. Thank you for sharing your review on Trip Advisor concerning your recent stay at our hotel last March. we are very much disappointed that we could not be up to your expectations as we always did before. As you were informed we were forced to proceed with an urgent repair for the swimming pool, and we did our level best to work on the repair, with the minimum time required. We have also arranged for our guests, to use the next door hotel swimming pool, and as a compensation for offered a discount of 10% on their total extras paid upon departure during the repair time. As for the hotel renovations; as you have mentioned, we have started with the hotel public areas, and the small garden, and we have scheduled a time plan for the rooms renovations as well, however unfortunately our plans were delayed due to current tourism and hotel business situation in the area. Kindly note that we did not increase our hotel rates for the month of September on the contrary we are offering a special packages for the full summer season. I would appreciate if you can ask your travel agent to contact us to ensure that they are informed about our offers. Once again, we would like to express our apology for any inconveniences caused, and sincerely looking forward to receive your booking request for your vacation next September 11, as you always do.. On behalf of the management team and staff members; please accept our best regards – Tamer.

What can we say other than a huge thanks to all staff at Lido. Their service and attentiveness was first class and we truly felt so well treated and pampered by all, food is superb, a huge thanks to the team of chefs, Sami, the always smiling fantastic waiter treated us like royalty and we loved your chat and humour, thank you !! look out for the lovely , knowledgeable Soudy at the beach helping you with your sun lounger and giving us lots of info about the beautiful fish, and Mohamed who sells newspapers, we met him 4 years ago at another hotel and he remembered us ,that really made us feel special,he invited us to his shop for a drink and we chatted and he showed us some photos of his gorgeous little boy, he really is such a genuine, nice guy and we wish him the very very best of luck for his future career plans. We were also spoiled by Hassan at the upstairs bar, another gentleman so lovely to chat to in the evening. We hope to return to this superb hotel and wish everyone there a happy busy summer season , you all deserve a huge wage rise!!

We stayed at Lido for one week at the end of November 2010.
Booking problems:
First of all this hotel has a problem with their booking system, as they try to run at full capacity, and do not pay attention if their guests payed extra for sea view.
When we arrived we had a problem with our booking, as we had booked 2 direct sea view rooms, and payed extra for the view, and when we arrived at the hotel, they gave us the worst rooms in the hotel with no sea view at all and they explained that they have no other free rooms, and that they will move us the next day. We kinda lost our first day of sunbathing arguing with them, without any success at all. If you payed extra for sea view, write them an e-mail before arriving to the hotel, to make sure they will pay attention to your request.
Compensation and rooms:
Next day we moved to 2 beautiful rooms on the second floor with direct sea view, and as a compensation for our lost day they gave us a free a la carte dinner on the deck (which was really, really nice, tasty and with nice atmosphere).
Rooms are well maintained, with shower in the bath and a flat screen tv in the room. There is a bit of noise because the hotel is made of wood.
On one room we had a problem as the jacuzzi above was leaking water in the room and making a bit of flood.
General overview:
The hotel has a fantastic location, right next to the shopping area, the center of Naama bay, and almost all the rooms have sea view, which is something rare in Sharm. The hotel has a boat/yacht feeling. It is all made of wood, and it really looks like a ship that docked.
Food:
We stayed with bed&breakfast as there are lots of places, really close were you can dine. Breakfast is nice, with lovely view over the bay and quite ok food. There is a Carrefour express at about half km away, if you also want to buy some snaks. There are also smaller shops right next the hotel, but there are more expensive than Carrefour. We had no problems bringing in the hotel, food or water.
Beach and pool:
The beach is small, but that's how it is in Sharm. There are a lot of sun loungers, on the deck or on the sand area. You can enter the water from the sandy area (quite smooth, and no rocks) or from the deck, if you are a good swimmer. There are a lot of colorful fishes swimming around.
From the deck and also from the pool situated on the 3rd floor you can see all the Naama bay area, very colorful and pretty, both by day time and night. The pool is nice and there is also a jacuzzi on the 3rd floor.
We had 3 days with shark problems, and we were not allowed to enter the sea in deep waters, only at shore.
Special and Internet:
I celebrated my birthday in this trip, and received from the hotel a nice small birthday cake :D
We payed for internet. There is wireless in the rooms, but on the beach there is little signal. If you don't have access announce the reception.
Overall Sharm is nice, not as nice as Hurghada, but with more nightlife.
I would return to Iberotel Lido, but I would send an email first to make sure they have my booking correct, and I receive a nice sea view room.
