“Perfect honeymoon!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2007

Stayed here for a week in April 04 for our honeymoon, and what a fantastic hotel! Not being used to luxury top class hotels, my husband and I were completely blown away by the rooms, it's staff - everything! As we were on honeymoon, we were upgraded to a sea-view room. Lovely and spacious with a living area, bedroom, walk in wardrobe, and huge bathroom. Also, a lovely terrace outside for eating on if you fancy a cosy night in! The staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome and the whole resort was spotlessly clean. As Naama Bay was a bit too hectic and touristy for a honeymoon, we stayed at the hotel most nights, with a choice of 3 restaurants topped off with a relaxing drink at the observatory lounge at the end of the night. The concierge staff were very helpful in organising trips for us including a night time trek into the desert to study the stars under a huge telescope. They even provided a guide and security guard (gun and all!)

All in all, this is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Sharm el Skeikh itself is very tacky, but great for diving and snorkelling. Can't wait to go back for our anniversary!

Stayed here for 4 days at the end of a Nile Cruise/Cairo trip, for a bit of R & R.
Hotel is beautiful, and service is impeccable, typical Four Seasons.Nothing is too much trouble for the very attentive staff. Lovely touches like fruit and sorbets served round the beautiful pool area, cool towels, and sunglass cleaning. Lovely egyptian cotton bedding, and very comfortable beds in the sizeable rooms. Great L'Occitane toiletries provided, along with plenty of complimentary water.
Downside is the absurd prices charged for food and drink in the hotel.
We ate in the Italian restaurant one night. Lovely food, but at London prices, and I've eaten better meals in London for the price.
Reef Bar - choice of steak or shrimp only. Wine list you are presented with has the cheapest bottle of wine at £43 per bottle.
After a little pressure, we were provided with an alternative wine menu, with prices starting at around £25. Food was very nice, but at £60 per head for two courses and a bottle of wine, it should have been.
Observatory Bar, very nice pizza and sushi, but again, bill for two
was £70, for food, one cocktail and a scotch.
2 cocktails and 2 diet cokes round the pool, bill £30.
This does not stack up, when compared to other beautiful places we have stayed in around the world. Egypt is a dirt poor country, (having seen the rest of Egypt, I can say this with confidence, this resort is a typical western resort, not at all representative of the rest of the country) and my gripe is that because they effectively have a captive audience,(town is a hair raising 15 minute taxi ride, and there is nothing much worth going for) you are exploited.
Personally I am more than happy to pay top prices for beautiful hotels, but I hate feeling ripped off for things like internet access -why do some hotels persist in charging? THIS SHOULD BE ALWAYS BE A COMLIMENTARY SERVICE TO THE CUSTOMER IN A 5* HOTEL
Prices in the shop are also eye watering. The ever popular Vilebrequin shorts for example, that cost around £75 at home were priced at £140.
Phew glad I got that off my chest!
Sounds like I'm not happy, not at all. This is a beautiful hotel, with lovely facilities, and impeccable service. You will be treated like royalty. Just be prepared to pay through the nose for very nice, but not superb food and drink.
Having said all that, should we return to Sharm, we would stay here again, but perhaps explore some of the other major hotel chains for dinner options.

My husband and I are from American, but have lived in Egypt for the past 7 years. We booked into the Four Seasons on the recommendations of other expatriates living here.

We upgraded to a junior suite and had a lovely room, with a good sea view in a quiet area. We found the cleanliness to be above average, with comfortable furniture and good amenities.

What we didn't like is that the hotel is located way out of town and directly underneath the flight path of the busy Sharm El Sheikh airport. We also thought that the food was average at best and ridiculously overpriced--about double what you find at other 5 star resorts in the area. We were able to drive to other restaurants, but if you are stuck there without transportation, your food bill will be huge when you leave.

We have seen massive changes in the Sharm el Sheik area--a classic case of a resource being loved to death. The reefs immediately off of all of the major hotels have been compromised immensely. Be careful that you don't book a snorkeling of dive adventure without knowing exactly which reef you are visiting. You might end up anchored off of the reef that you could have swam to from your hotel.

It takes alot to impress us, having been to the Maldives 8 times we are always reluctant to try anywhere else for fear of wasting money!
We have just returned from 2 weeks at the four seasons with our 3 year old daughter and I was impressed! Probably not enough to go back but you never know?
The service is second to none, all staff know you by name and can't do enough to help. (Big Thank you to Andrew , Director of Rooms)
We didn't tip once, mainly due to the 12% service charge that is added to everything which makes me very reluctant to give more, however the service was still exceptional.
The food is good but for the price it should be exceptional and it isn't. The hotel is very very expensive and anyone that thinks that they can go and eat cheap think again! There are no cheap options in any restaurants at all. Every meal cost us at least £100 for 2 and that was with a couple of glasses of wine and beers, not even a bottle! Lunch - 2 burgers £40.
Bottle of egyptian Sharizade Chardonnay was £17 so not bad and it tasted quite nice. Champagne £300 a bottle. There are themed buffet nights which are £30 per head and then wine on top
However for children the hotel is excellent, There is a great kids menu which is cheap (£2.50) for a main course. The Waha pool restaurant gives free kids lunches and they can have 1/2 portion of any main course.
At breakfast there is a mini kids buffet and a free buffet for them at theme nights.
Breakfast is good but not as great as experienced in Dubai. It finishes at 11.30 so alot of people had late breakfast and then skipped lunch.

The rooms are exceptionally good as is the cleaning and turn down service, complimentary water twice a day. The room was probably the best we have stayed in, easily comparing to Taj Exotica and Soneva in the Maldives. We had a suite with a plunge pool which is definately for plunging and we couldn't fault anything.

The pools are lovely, childrens pool excellent and great for a 3 year old. The grounds are beautiful and make a lovely walk or the train is great.

We did get a taxi into Nama bay once but would never go back, it is a dump. We also went to look at the Hyatt to see if we would have liked it there...A souk that reminded me of a food court and plastic covers on the sunloungers, so probably not! Picky i know but it didn't have the same class at all but saying that it is cheaper.

Would we go back? Probably not..... The beach, Unnatural gravelly sand and not good for a 3year old as can't paddle as have to go in off the pier. being maldives fans we like the beach and it doesn't compare at all.
Bad tummies - Even at the Four Seasons! we were complacent though and should have been careful with what we ate which we were with our daughter who was fine but not with ourseleves.
The price & Food - It is very very expensive and the food not great.
Surrounding area a dump

However for guaranteed weather you can't complain too much, will never say never to going back but the Maldives is booked for November!

we are a couple who enjoys diving and snorkling and we have been all over the world enjoying life's pleasure and fun.

we heard about the hotel from the internet and decided to give it a shot, but we were so disappinted from day one.

the staff are freindly, but they are cheaty with acting attitude and you are able to notice that they take us for granted!! no one will do anything in a great way unless TIPS are payed and if not, then no 5 star service will be provided!!

Rooms are great and huge, plenty of nice things inside (But that is why its expensive.. alot) yet, no cleanliness is provided unless TIPS payed.

The beach is not that great for divers, its natural and isnt clean as well, there is no place for diver's course and that made us angry!

the food is great (with the money you pay, it has to be, but again the service wasnt that good at all, and the attention received was not that great)

the resort needs more attention to details and cleaning as well, some gardening corners have burned grass..

we have been all over the world, to mariott, movenpick and others, but were astonished to see the four seasons neglected like that!

This was our first holiday as a family with three little ones aged 5, 3 and 18 months. We wanted to see some sun and have as relaxed as possible a time and we got it at the Four Seasons. We got a cheap flight through the internet and then booked the hotel via Scott Dunn. The hotel is 5* and having stayed in quite a few in our pre children days we thought it matched up to its web site and more. We booked a family suite which was really spacious and the kids loved it although if we had a complaint at all, it didn't have a great outlook so request a pool or seaview. The weather was perfect, 75 but with a cool breeze at times. The kids club was good although the head girl there was a bit scary. We used the it for Anna, 5, and then booked a babysitter for Ben, 3, and Jamie, 1. The thing is to book the same person for all week as another top tip. The kids club is good for up to 7 years I would say although we only used it a few hours in the afternoon to get a break as really we were altogether. Tot tennis was great, so was the playgroup and the swimming pools lovely for them. The best bit was the food and the staff though, amazing. They can't do enough for you. Brilliant food for the kids too served on buffet tables their height so they get a great sense of independence. We didn't bother leaving the resort as all seemed better for older kiddies and although more expensive to be at the hotel to eat etc, the kids loved the train down to the pool and the golf buggy trips. They didn't want more and we were happy that they were happy and happy to stay put!

One of the most amazing hotels I have stayed at. Service was impeccable--from the poolside staff, to the restaurants, to the dive center. I was only there for 3 days but possibly the 3 most luxurious days of my life!
