Unbelievably it was raining as we stepped off the aircraft, apparently the first in three years, however remember January is also mid-winter in Egypt!

This is a very comfortable hotel and the staff without exception are the most efficient and polite I have ever encountered. Nothing was too much trouble and the room service superb!

The gardens are magnificent and very well cared for by the numerous friendly gardeners but for maximum colours they would be at their best perhaps in May. The hotel has a splendid Swedish built electric tram running down to the main swimming pool that stops at various levels otherwise to get about there are numerous golf buggies available, useful if you are elderly!

We thought the food, apart from the superlative breakfast somewhat bland but you don't travel to the Red Sea for culinary pleasures.

On account of the weather we extended our holiday from ten days to a fortnight and the front desk and concierge were most helpful in organising this and the transport to and from the airport. This facility should be taken advantage of regardless of travel agent as the local reps (Travco) work for perhaps a dozen different companies so one can be stranded at the airport!

I went on two organised snorkelling trips, the first with a delightful Egyptian guide to a reef several miles north of the resort which proved wonderful with every colour of corals and fish. The second time was the opposite with an unhelpful Englishman as guide to a location called Lighthouse which lacked both coral and fish! A fine turtle was seen on both expeditions. The trip however is great fun travelling at very high speed to the reefs in a 'special forces' type rubber boat powered by two enormous outboard motors.

Sharm is only five hours flying time and the Four Seasons only a few minutes from the airport, however noise from aircraft never seemed to be an issue!

I never felt any need to leave the hotel as there was always plenty to do during the day and some varied entertainment if one felt like this in the evening. For once I never felt the need to go to the Spa but met those in charge who were most impressive.

We would be tempted to return in either May or October as the summer months are too hot with temperatures in the mid 40's.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a sea view and if elderly near to the 'tram'.

Just came back from a long weekend here-
It really was great- the first time I had some really good food in Egypt.
The only fault really is that the staff almost try too hard!!
The restaurants were both great- had an excellent fillet steak one night and a great roast lobster dish the following night- my kind of menu!!

You feel as you were the only guest in hotel. All your wishes are available and all your dreams are achievable. The breakfast contains very wide varieties. The beach has an excellent loation. Corals are astonishing. Thanks a lot for these unforgotten memories.

Most people, including myself and my husband (newlywed), go on holiday for a well earned rest and recoup. We don't like to exert ourselves. So after a slightly rocky start to our holiday (having to move hotels to the Four Seasons) we began to be able to enjoy our well earned break.

The Four Seasons Sharm el Sheikh is pure perfection. Every inch of the resort is tended to, from the steps leading down to the pool and beach area to fresh Egyptian cotton linen on our bed every day.

Upon arrival, we were immediately upgraded to a suite which had spectacular views per the Red Sea. Our suite was complete with walk in wardrobe, super king size bed and indoor and outdoor seating areas for us to enjoy the balmy evenings before dinner. It was so luxurious and the housekeeping teams attention to detail was extraordinary-everything folded, put in its place and replenished every day without question.

The hotel staff were absolutely brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and yet they weren't the overbearing forceful type, they completely understood that us Brits like to totally relax.

Some lovely touches included the handing round of fruit and mint tea at points throughout the day, sunglasses cleaning and strawberry milkshakes; all enjoyed from the comfort of your sun lounger. There were two options for breakfast - Arabesque, a beautiful bustling buffet option or a more grown up option by the sea at Sails where you were served all that Arabesque had to offer without the hustle and bustle. If the wind is not up and you are travelling in a purely adult group I would thoroughly recommend you go there.

The food was amazing, just what you want on holiday. All the talk of getting a 'dicky tummy' is not something you should worry about here. We are fruit, salad etc etc. and never once experienced any problem. Plus it would have probably been worth it, as the food really was scrumptious!

Therefore, if you are looking to escape the cold and have a little cash left over from the cheap flights offered to get out here, look now where else. This is the only place to stay and enjoy pure luxury in Sharm and I shall absolutely be returning. Without a shadow of a doubt!
