I stayed @ the Maritim Jolie Ville golf from 12th-27th December - with my partner and 7 year old daughter.
We had booked an All-Inclusive holiday through a UK tour operator , we have previously stayed in Egypt on an All-Inclusive basis 2 years previous .
We chose this hotel because of the Star Rating & Trip advisor reviews plus this had a heated pool. we have always gone to the Caribbean on a all inclusive, but was unprepared for what we encountered here
The hotel was only 15 to 20% full this was what we were told by the duty manager. So the large number of restaurants that had been mention in the hotels itinerary which appealed to us, a few of these were not open on the days that they were specified.
The Hotel was built about 15 years ago and this shows in the dated decor and corridor carpets and the decor and broken floor tiles in room.there was 3 shops in the lobby but only one of these shops was ever open.
The beach area was like a scene from the Pirates of the Caribbean with areas to sun bath on the man made terraces on the cliff face (this beach area is not suitable for people with walking difficulties) once down to the 3 jettys you were able to see the most beautiful coloured fishes on the reef the jettys had steps going down into sea if you wanted to do some snorkeling or diving if you want to this area was lovely to relax and take in the sun.
The main pool is big and has lazy river with slides this is were we spent most of our time, the pool recreation man (Mohamed was brilliant looked after us and our daughter really well)
Royal wing has its own pool. There are lots of fountains, & dolphins witch spouts water shoots which are not currently in use. Main pool is heated which is good but all of it needed sprucing up - some of it lining was really stained.
There is no daytime animation team so no activities other than diving, golf, spa & tennis.
Dinner is available in main restaurant & there is a big canopied area with a stage where there might be some entertainment if your lucky - or not! It was sometimes on too early. Main buffet ok but nothing special - like eating in a cafeteria some days.
They did show kids films in La Shisha & big screen football as well.
There are also some a'la carte restaurants which you could use in All-inclusive package, Mandarin Chinese - V good, Noodle Bar in same restaurant on different night - also good but you are only allowed 1 dish from the menu. Zaman lebanese though this was the same food as what the buffet served, all of these restaurants are open on a rota system and you get 3 visits per week of stay we changed our vouchers so we could go to the chinese more often. And the Jolie Bistro which is also open but not included in any package - you could get a 25% discount.
There is a Bar in the main hotel called the Ascot - this is not included on All-inclusive - so if you want an All-inclusive drink - which after all you have paid for you have to go out of the main building to La Luna - meant to be a disco. It is kind of a jungle theme, dark, lots of steps, bridge And all this before a convention of young Russians arrived which caused chaos. There were somewhere between 400 to 450. Teenagers or early twenties, scantly dress and disregard for everyone else - we had to go to reception on the Saturday morning complaining about the noise in the early hours of the morning by these young people, all we got was we were told to phone security as and when it happens again and they will speak to the people making the noise, again early hours of Sunday morning 2:30 the noise started again we phone security half hour later noise still going on phone security again and he said he was to busy to sort the noise so we shouted at the young Russians to be quite this was replaced with laughter, so from 2:30 myself partner and daughter did not sleep again to make things worse there was a party opposite our room in the royal wing.
They wore shorts into dinner - when there is a big sign saying "no shorts" brought there own alcohol in to drink in lobby & completely took over La Luna - staff seemed ill equipped or unprepared to sort them out. Luckily they were only there for two and half days but it did seem as if the russians were much more important than us or anyone else staying at this hotel who had probably paid more.
This was not a cheap hotel & I expected a lot more for my money, - Don't expect 5 star luxury. 3.5 star at best. i would like to say a big thank you to George, Mohamid, Ado, and most of the waiters in the buffet and bbq area, these people make this hotel, Would i return to this hotel yes i would, but they need to sort out things.
