“Paradise for the young children famlie!”

Just returned from a 2 week vacation in a paradise for everyone, but especially this is a place where children and their parents really have every opportunity to get a equal great holiday, just everything your heart desires both for your children and in the same time for Mom and DadPerfect location - nice pools - good sized rooms with super beds (hard - we stayed in the Royal Wing) - nice food - and all kinds of facilities you could think off! Except of the golfclub staff who were characterized by "non-golfers" know-how and a relatively high green fee for a classic resort course, that could not be wildly impressed! Egyptian arrogance in and around the course was unfortunately the only small downside to an otherwise great vacation! Thanks to all hotel staff, but especially thanks to the animation team who really made this holiday unique and unforgettable - our children will miss you All off you are certainly a great recommendation worth, all doing a great job closely aligned with the needs from your guest - very sincerely and hearty! thanks to Rosana "the Queen of fitness" - Lisa "the Queen of facepainting" Simon - Luca and Staffano sorry for beating you in every waterpolo matches but anyway thanks for your well ballanced treat, both for kids and there parents! It was with only pleasure to be with you, wish you all the best of luck and hope to see you one time in the furture! And at last to all travellers who considering traveling here - hurry up and get going you will never regret!

Much have already been said by other visitors and through their detailed descriptions. These say that this is definitely not a five star hotel. The staff is overall very friendly but their ability to offering an excellent service is not always present. This is particularly the case for the low-ranking breakfast and evening restaurant serving more ordinary food/buffet. There the staff was not paying enough attention and often showed a complete lack of communication. Also had to put everything on the room, not possible to pay immediately in the restaurant. With respect to restaurant staff, it helped somewhat after an official complainment through the reception to the General Manager! Furthermore there is no real beach for children... snorkeling was ok.

We spent 3 nights here as part of our tour of Egypt and loved it, would like to have had even more time at the hotel as we were off on day trips into the desert most of the time (which was also wonderful). It would be a wonderful place to spend a week or 2 because there is so much to do just on the premises of the hotel itself, let alone going into Sharm or out into the desert.

When we were there, we were practically the only people in the hotel due to the decrease in tourism. The pools were completely deserted, so we walked around them but didn't go in. The gardens/flowering trees were so gorgeous that we really enjoyed walking around in the shade.

The view from our room was spectacular - the palm trees around the huge pool and then the mountains in the background. Our room was huge and very comfortable, we loved having the doors open onto the balcony and sitting out there soaking in the view. Our only disappointment with the room (and the reason we gave a "very good" rating rather than "excellent" is because our huge bathroom had a very strong, unpleasant sewer smell, especially in the shower. We complained about the smell but were told that staff couldn't smell it when they came into the room (which seemed very bizarre, as we could smell it very strongly all the time in the bathroom). We were not in the room that much, so didn't ask to be moved, but we also wondered if all the bathrooms smelled that bad when the staff said they couldn't smell it!

The food was very good at breakfast, lots of selection, and we really enjoyed eating outside in the dining area.

The best thing about this hotel is the access to the Red Sea. On our last day, which we spent at the hotel, we discovered the sandy cliff and beach chairs looking out over the Red Sea and spent a couple of hours just soaking up the sun and the view before renting snorkeling equipment and checking out the coral reef - WOW! Unbelievable number of fish and the colours - incredible, felt like we were in the Finding Nemo movie. Best 1/2 hr of our trip was that snorkeling experience.

However - the warning signs regarding sharks should be up at the top of the cliff beside the place where you rent the snorkeling equipment, NOT down at the waterfront after you've rented everything and are ready to jump in the water. We found that very disconcerting that we came down to the docks, all excited to go snorkeling, with our equipment on, and there is a sign warning not to go into the water under any circumstances due to the possibility of shark attacks, and not to believe anyone who says it is safe. We still went in the water, as everyone else seemed to be ignoring the sign, but we were nervous and only spend 1/2 hr in the water. Having the sign at the waterfront, rather than where you rent the equipment, didn't allow us to make an informed decision as to whether to get in the water or not.

I agree with a previous reviewer that the hotel could do a better job of advertising all that is available at their resort. By the time we found out we could have had a massage, for instance (and at a very good price), we had to leave for the airport.

All the staff we encountered were very friendly and courteous. Another positive was that when we returned from the desert, we asked if our leather shoes could be cleaned and the staff very nicely did a "rush job" (as we didn't have any other shoes), and I don't even think they charged us - if they did, it was a nominal fee and they did a great job.

We would love to return for a longer visit and more time on the beach!

Just come back from the most relaxing and luxurious week at this hotel.
Everything about this hotel was all we had hoped for and more, from the amazing secluded beach alcoves where we could sunbath without disturbance to the snorkelling off the jetties where we had dolphins come to check us out in our quiet private reef.
The hotel itself was first class and kept exquisite at all times, the food was amazing and we went all inclusive but the quality of food did not drop in standards at all, not all restaurants are part of the all inclusive but all offer a 25% discount to all inclusive guests.
Now you can eat all meals for free and drink for free if that is what you want but you would be missing out on the other restaurants and their amazing food and although you have to pay they are not extortionate prices.
The best bar was the Ascot bar which was not part of the all inclusive but showed football served premium spirits and what made it special was Mohammed the barman as he made you feel welcome and at home the moment you walked in.
The pool area was great as I played water polo everyday but this was also made extra special by Luca and the Italian boys who no matter what where always the life and should of the area.
I don't have kids but the facilities that were on offer and the daily shows and activities that are there for kids looked second to none.
I played golf twice with Omar the club professional and I must say it was a pleasure to play alongside him and he helped my game massively in only two rounds with his logical and friendly advice, the course was in excellent condition and considering its in the middle of the desert what they have achieved is nothing short of spectacular.
All I will say is if you go (and you should) is remember the staff tip well and will be treated like royalty.
Will return again without a doubt !!

Stayed 2 weeks with kids in Dec’12-Jan’13 (bed & breakfast, standard room).

- Very well organized hospitality service run by supportive and friendly employees of different nationalities
- Very well developed hotel infrastructure incl. rooms, pools, restaurants, beach jetties, etc. that separates people with different types of activities and lets you keep your lifestyle comfortable
- Very well organized meal options: breakfast of very high quality, lunches & dinners at affordable (but not dirt cheap) prices in many hotel restaurants/bars/bistro; 24/7 room delivery; all-inclusive upgrade is expensive and unnecessary and thus no 'all-inclusive-drink-it-all' visitors & no terrible quality food/drinks for such people
- Very supportive Animation team that handles both adults & kids, and shuffles the music at one of two largest pools

- Sea: clean water (far from Sharm-el-Sheikh, boats, etc.), 4 nice jetties to access corals conveniently and also to jump into the water; although one may say there is no beach as such, actually there are several meters good enough for babies to practice sea sand-construction skills.
- Pools: large collection of pools, some of which are connected by a ‘river’, where the water is warmed up. There are spaces for every taste: silent, with music, shallow for babies or deeper for swimming.
- Winter wind: lot of places where it was not windy!
- Very good gym with a very supportive team
- Free shuttle bus to Naama Bay with convenient schedule (stops at another Maritim hotel, so, basically, you can just enjoy your ride and get back without leaving Maritim)
- Free wi-fi at the hotel lobby
- Electric tea kettle in a room
- Standard room is large enough, don't see a need for a 25 euro/night upgrade to Royal Wing rooms, so often offered at Tripadvisor
- During our stay there was a healthy mix of people of different cultures and ages primarily from UK/Denmark/Sweden blended with some Russians and Egyptians
- No need to use cash: all bills can be written to the room number, and you pay at reception by either credit cards, local currency or international currencies at very fair rate.
- We didn't use 'Guest relations', but reportedly this is additional channel to solve problems, if any, in your native language

- Maritim does a great job of not harassing people with too many offers of paid services. It could be more soft marketing involved in order to engage people and tell them about what paid choices they have (some of which are actually very good and not too expensive), which will be for the benefit of both Maritim and guests.
- Shuttle bus to Naama Bay: was not equipped with seat belts for all passengers, made strange unpleasant noises, and ventilation for some seats did not work. Not every driver believes that soft, silent, and respectable driving is more appreciated by visitors than tough-style efforts to get ahead of 1-2 other cars. Additional sense of insecurity was that not every driver used seat belt at all times. Generally driving and interacting with drivers was very nice and improvements here should not be hard to make :-).
- Signs of attention to babies: not every Maritim employee believed that kids/parents may not like when somebody touches babies and(or) makes sounds/signs which are considered rather nice in Egypt, but not very nice in other countries. It is understood that such signs of attention are very sincere and universal in Egypt and it is hard to change, but Maritim team already treats guests so nicely that I believe that more improvements in this area are also possible :-).
- Food: 8-10 euro burgers could be made 1.5-2 times smaller, but a bit tastier. The same goes for soups and pizzas. Focus of adding a lot of French fries to numerous meals seemed not to correspond to much more upscale Maritim brand.
- Juices: surprisingly there was very small selection of freshly made juices. Even priced at 24LBE, you could not always find it available. 'Freshly made' lemon juice served in bistro turned out to be quite a dilute solution.
- Towel management: no-issue for those who stays at one place during a day. But when you go in and out with a baby, sometimes there is no-one to take your towel at this particular moment, and you need to carry a towel with you. Then you have to bring it to the same place where you took it. If it happens after 3-5 days, a responsible person not always able to find your name. Sometimes returning a towel becomes messy. My suggestion to stop practice of writing down room numbers, since you anyway exchange a towels with a towel card.
- A shop advertised as “fixed price”, but in reality it is not. I suggest that either Maritim stops claiming that it is fixed-price, or reinforce fixed price tags indeed.
- "News" distributed every morning in several languages was, arguably, ridiculous. Probably printing nothing would save money for Maritim, and be better for guests during breakfast :-). Second page of the Newsletter with daily repeated “promotion” is yet another demonstration that “paid services” could be advertized better. "Newspapers to borrow" were advertized, but not offered :-(.
- All pools are open-air, no indoor one for windy weather :-(
- Water-guns at royal wing needed to be fixed

[as you can see, no truly alarming issues to report about. ]

- Animation team was comprised of several Italians and a Russian, who were very supportive to those who are interested in, and invisible to those who didn't want to get engaged
- Team is conveniently located at one of two largest pools, and lot of newcomers to pools/beach bump into them first, and get nice introductions/welcome by animation team members, who can also advise on hotel, Naama Bay, etc.
- Music was played only at one pool, and the selection/volume level was great: not irritating, not boring.
- Animation program is good and does offer development of some skills & communication, although please manage your expectations: in the end this is not a specialized camp for children/adults development. Team members do handle/moderate a mix of different nationalities with respect and dignity.
- In kids club was mostly run by a Russian Alisa and Italian Rosanna, who interacted with kids exceptionally well. Children loved to do with them evening disco, coloring pages, tatoos. Many, many thanks, ladies!!!
- Lastly, pizza-making (followed by pizza-eating) exercise with Italian(!) animation team, using real oven at pool bar, was a fabulous experience that made children remember the stay at Maritim forever.

So, quite unexpectedly animation team at a hotel made our stay.

- During our stay the hotel was reportedly filled by ~25% of its capacity, which may not be sustainable for Maritim, but was great for us
- Lot of returned customers who chose this hotel over and over
- Lot of families with kids, lots of seniors.

- Strong & confident "very good"
- Definitely consider coming back again, do recommend going to others

Room Tip: Consider "pool view" standard room to avoid facing other rooms in the evening.

The family spent a week in Sharm El-Sheikh during the X-mas 2012. Fantastic service, food was excellent and the variety of restaurants was simply excellent. We played 3 rounds of golf and the reception and service around the golf club was superb. On the 24th the hotel arranged the most fabulous gala dinner with so much high class food so you could not believe it.

Highly recommended!

Room Tip: worth spending a little extra to have a room with pool view and the afternon sun

We stayed at Jolie 23-30 dec. Nice room with pool-view to Royal Wing. The food, just outstanding. Le Chef is fantastic and his team superb. We have stayed at more than 100 hotels all over the world, but the food at Jolie is more than 5*. Even Las Vegas is NOT THAT QUALITY!!!! And the other restaurants at Jolie are also very nice. Sitting at Treasure Cove for lunch overlooking the sea is a must. And the boys here, are very clever and charming. Take nr 12 salad, and 21 veal-cut and you will feel happy. The Pool area is so big, so beatiful. No problem to find a cosy corner with no noise. All the childrens stay mostly at their own pool with animation show all day. DO NOT HESITATE: GO TO JOLIE GOLF!!!!!

Room Tip: Room 2434 have a good poolview to Royal Wing Pool, and the sun arrives 1400. Nice.
