Reviewed November 23, 2013

We had the most amazing week, everyone was extremely friendly, helpful and polite. The food was fantastic giving plenty of choices and every night a different theme. Hotel entertainment provided. It was just what we needed and of course some winter sun was the icing on the cake. Would defiantly recommend and would defiantly return.

Got back a couple of weeks ago from a lovely 4 night stay at the Sultan Gardens. This hotel has completely restored our faith in holidaying in Sharm El Sheik after a not so good hotel experience a few years ago at the Beach Albatros.

Firstly, the political situation in Egypt did not affect our holiday AT ALL. The whole place is very secure and safe. Please do not feel worried or anxious (as I did before leaving!)

The Sultan Gardens is a beautifully kept, clean and comfortable hotel. The rooms are equipped with all you need, including coffee and tea making facilities and flat screen TV. We had a beautiful view of the sea from our room. All staff were very friendly and professional.

I had emailed ahead to request a room away from the main entertainment area, but on arrival we were quite close to the entertainment area, which was a bit noisy, but music stopped at 10.30, so not a big problem. If we had been there longer than 4 days we might have requested a different room, but that being said we didn't want to give up that beautiful sea view! Swings and roundabouts....!

The grounds of the hotel are amazing. So many beautiful flowers and an army of friendly gardeners keeping everything looking perfect. It is amazing how they can get such beautiful gardens in such a hot, dry climate.

The pools look great and very inviting , although we are beach people and so did not use them at all.

The beach is brilliant. A proper beach with sand, which you can walk all the way along, unlike many hotels in Sharm which have platforms on the cliffs with sunbeds on. They are currently making improvements to the beach area, building a beach bar by the looks of it, and adding more sunbed areas with built in parasols and tables - this will be great when it is done. The works did not affect our enjoyment on the beach at all.

The jetty is a great place to sit on and enjoy the water, watching the fish swim in and out of your toes! And the snorkelling is fantastic. We saw a Neopolian fish, lion fish, giant pufferfish and so many more I couldn't name them all. A lifeguard is positioned on the end of the jetty too. Watch out for the feisty Picasso triggerfish just off the beach around the walk-in platform...!

Our main concern before arriving was about the food and getting ill. (all due to our last visit to Sharm some years back, at another hotel) Well, all I can say is we are so pleased that we gave Sharm another go with the Sultan Gardens. The food here was great. Everything was clean. They have even got hand sanitizer stations on entrance to the restaurant from the lobby area, which we used every time. The food serving areas are spotless and chefs and waiters are so friendly. We found food to be tasty and varied and really enjoyed our meals. Not once did we feel ill, neither did we hear anyone complaining about the dreaded tummy troubles.

This hotel is great- it would take a lot for a hotel in Sharm to beat it. The airport transfer service worked like clock work and is a brilliant idea. We would definitely visit again for a lovely, stress free week in the sun. Well done Basel and the team at Sultan Gardens, you have a fantastic hotel.

Just returned from the sultan gardens after 10 nitghts of pure bliss (11 nov till 21nov).
Could I just comment on a review I have read the women in question mother and daughter they were there when we were there.Would just like to say there comments are totally unfounded, yes there were slight problems with two of the pool, but for god sake there are other pools and beleive it or not a big blue sea to cool off in, now if your to lazy to move thats your problem.
She mentioned her daughter had taken off her wrist band to sunbath, WHY vanity maybe, leave the band alone they are there for a reason (all inclusive dummy).
And now what your welcome pack for repeat customers god fruit bowl, slippers, dressing gown, free internet is there any reason at all to moan because you didnt get yours on your arrival I DONT THINK SO. I feel there are people put on this earth just to moan and pick fault what a sad life they must lead, enjoy your holiday and if you just mention what you havent got and may be should have it will be sorted.
I would just like to commend sultan gardens staff, they are second to none brilliant. The food you cant fault theres a choice for everyone, the indian and italian restaurant you cant fault, food excellent staff brilliant.
The rooms we had a junior suite just upgraded falt screens tvs exellent no faults at all, loved it.
The only problem I would mention is the RUSSIANS talk about greedy, ignorant people no please or thank yous, shame they are like that really.
Well thats me done now I would just like to say Sultan Gardens is a top hotel with staff you cant fault with food you cant fault. I commend Basil (general manager) he has gone out of his way to select the right staff, he goes out of his way to help, talk and explain things. I will be returning to the Sultan Gardens next year.
All I can say is go for it you wont be dissapointed well I wasnt and would recommend this hotel every time.Well done Basil and staff and a big thank you

I have never written a review before, but I felt the Sultan Gardens always goes above and beyond their requirements to satisfy their guests, it was only fair to let them know how grateful I am.
This was my third visit to the hotel, after previously staying at other hotels in the area. The Sultan Gardens is by far the best place to stay. I cannot stress how brilliant our holiday was. The attention to detail is what makes this place special. The food is top-class with a real effort going in to the displays and food choices. You can even have a tour of the kitchens to see how the place is run. If you have specific requirements - it's not a problem, whatever you need, you will get - and always delivered with a smile.
The staff at the hotel are unbelievable attentive without being intrusive. You never feel hassled or uncomfortable, they genuinely want the best for you and will go above and beyond to provide for you. Hamdy at the kids pool bar is our favourite.
The animation team work tirelessly and are fantastic, they actually make our holiday and are probably top of the list for why we keep returning to the hotel. They are always there to put a smile of your face. There have been a few changes over the years but the best still remain (Bob, Ramy and Moose). We hadn't met Natalie before, but she is a real laugh too.
The evening entertainment shows haven't changed a great deal, but still provide a night of laughter and fun and the Disco later on is always worth attending, even if it's just to watch some pretty varied cultural dancing!
We often go around Oct or March and the weather is faultless: not a cloud in the sky for our entire stay.
All in all I cannot say a single negative word about the hotel, I have not got a biased opinion, just an honest one. It really is a first class hotel, and I look forward to visiting again in Spring.

Room Tip: The 100s block. Close to the pools, close to reception

Just back from our 4 th visit and still as good as ever.not a hint of trouble in hotel or surrounding areas at all.nice to meet the great staff again who greet us like family( Ahmed at the top two pools and Ehab and Hamdy in the lobby bar) but all staff great which is a credit to hotel.food in buffet good and casa Mia meal was great and the new addition of the house of spice Indian was also great.as returning guests we got a few little perks(fruit, mugs, voucher etc) and understand if we go back next year (5 + visits)you get even more which would be great :-) cannot understand some of the negative reviews about the hotel really cos they do look after you.the only slight negative was as in another review was the closure of the two pools for 3 days.they were closed on the first morning of our holiday and we told on numerous occasions it would only be an hour !!!!! This is the only thing I think could of been dealt with better with more communication or a notice explaining situation by the pool.overall another fantastic 7 days relaxing in the sun with great people and familiar surroundings :-)

Dear smurfo,

Thank you for continuing to choose the Sultan Gardens Resort. We appreciate your feedback and are very happy that you enjoyed your most recent stay with us.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of pools 2 and 3 during your stay and regret that we had to pass on information that proved not to be accurate as the third party company who's employee caused the problem assured us repeatedly that it could and would be resolved in hours rather than days. In hindsight, we absolutely should have provided our guests with more information but at the time it appeared there would be no need to do so and this was a judgement call in a unique situation.

Thank you again for your feedback. We look forward to your next stay with us and we remain at your service.

Best Regards

Check in was very smooth and were taken to our room with our luggage.
First impression was that the room was a bit dated but the most important thing was that it was clean and comfortable. After unpacking we made our way to the restaurant and were shown to a table . The restaurant has themed nights and the first night was Indian which was very nice, the other nights were Egyptian, Russian, Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Thai . We had one night in Casa Mia and one night in House of spice and were both very good, this is one of the best hotels we have been to for food. The food was also of a very high standard at breakfast and lunch. We spent our days around the pool and on the beach, The beach is nice and the fish are fantastic to watch , take a snorkel and you can go in off the end of the jetty, never seen anything like it on holiday. Our drinks were always brought to our sunbeds , great service and a tip is well deserved as they all work so hard and are so polite. There are 4 outdoor pools of which 2 are heated.
The evening entertainment was good and if you wanted a later night there is an underground disco open until 3am. All staff are so friendly and polite but we have to give a big mention to
Ikam Monsour in the restaurant who provided such a high quality of service we have never experienced at any other hotel before. Muhamed the beach waiter and Ahmed the pool waiter both work so hard and give a fantastic service. We do not know how anybody can give this hotel a poor rating. We will definitely be returning in March / April next year.

Room Tip: The wifi is not great so if you have an unlocked smartphone go and get a local sim card from the sho...
