I have just returned from my 3rd stay at this hotel and it gets better and better. The staff could not do enough for you, the management do all they can to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable, the food is brilliant with theme nights every night, the pools and grounds are incredibly clean and well maintained and the rooms are very spacious. I really do not have a bad word to say about this hotel and it's high rating on Trip Advisor is well deserved and a testament to the hard work put in by Basel and all of his staff. Looking forward to returning next year.

The Sultan Gardens Resort is ideal for those who want to bask in the sun all day.The hotel is situated on a hill that runs down to the beach, not a good hotel for those with mobility problems, lots of steps or slopes.

The room we had was good with plenty of space and a view of Tiran island. At present there is a lot of building work as they get ready for a new season, it never disturbed us.

The Hotel is very nice overall and the food was good and plentiful but a little bland even though each evening meal is dedicated to a different country. The salads were very good, never once had the Egyptian tummy bug ,that people all ways say you get.Remember that washing your hands aids to this after touching their money.

All communal toilets were clean and tidy ,Except the beach one behind the bar, small and smelly.

The beach has a reef about 10 feet in to the sea so one has to go over a pontoon or walkway to reach water to swim in if you don't like pool swimming, but poor swimmers beware the drop under you is about 15 to 20 meters.

Well done to the gardeners who are the unsung hero's who work none stop to keep gardens looking wonderful.

The evening shows are very good and a pleasurable cross of professional acts and the animation team,(but i wish they would smile and say hello when they pass you during the day)

The All inclusive drinks at the bars are the standard you get at a basic AI hotel .
The bar men seem more interested to chat among their selves than serve, unless the flicker of currency is shown.

The two main pools were very cold ,but the quite pool and one by kids pool are warm.

You seem to need to tip every where to get GOOD Service ,which goes against the grain, I tip for good service, which was far and few.

We had five massages at the Spa ,the last 3 being the best with the first two being rather inexperienced.

Overall the Hotel is great for those who want to lay around and chill out,and drink ,there is not much to see outside .unless you want to do a trip that everyone wants to sell you.But those we spoke to said there was more travelling than, doing on the trips.I cant comment on the trips as we are free spirited and search for ourselves.

Warning to new travelers YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY VISA AT AIRPORT IF YOU ARE NOT LEAVING THE SHARM AREA.THEY WILL TRY TO BULLY YOU TO BUY.

Room Tip: Choose a Sea view (limited view on some rooms )Higher floor for less noise from room above.

Spent a week at the Sultan Gardens first week of November. We had been to Sharm last year and stayed in a 5 star chain hotel (was not 5 star) and didn't have the best experience so thought we would try somewhere new this year. Saw the reviews for Sultan Gardens on Tripadvisor and decied to book. The hotel is lovely, nice big grounds, lots of pools, clean and with good choices for food and entertainment. Staff are very friendly and not only do some remember your name but also your drinks - quite impressive!! The animation staff were great and did their best to entertain and get us tourists up and taking part without being intrusive. The touting by staff of various services when relaxing round the pool was slightly annoying but nothing we couldnt handle. The food in the main restaurant was ok. I know some people have reviewed the food badly but realistically if you want gourmet 5 star food don't go to an all inclusive catering for hundreds of people day in and day out. The food was fine - good salads and bread and the hot food was ok and always a lot of choice even being a vegetarian I wasn't short of meal options really. Our room was lovely - spacious and clean. The pool (pool 2) was great - clean and perfect temp to swim. Even tho we had a couple of cloudy days it was still nice to sit out and enjoy the warm weather and animation team antics. The animation team were good especially Ramy and Amy fromEngland who had only been in the job a few weeks. One of the waiters, Ahmed Hafiz, was lovely and gave us brilliant service, getting us drinks and not letting us 2 girls queue for drinks. Overall I would stay at Sultan Gardens again and would recommend it to anyone looking for quality accommodation on Sharm.

We visited the resort from 1-15 Nov 2012. As it was our first trip to Egypt, we based our decision to stay at Sultan Gardens mainly on the positive Trip Advisor reviews - and the very reasonable price!
My overall feedback is good; the hotel was clean, well appointed and most of the staff were extremely friendly and keen to please.
We stayed in Junior Suite 818 which overlooks pool 3 and is closely situated to the reception and restaurants. The suite itself was [apparently] refurbished a couple of years ago but does need a little updating again. It still has the old kitchen area, which is a very odd and wasted space. Having said that, the suite was easily large enough for a family of 3 with a single bed in the main living area alongside a sofa and chair. The room cleaner [whose name I have regretfully forgotten] was very friendly and helpful. We are not early risers and he was always patient with us. The bathroom facilities were in need of updating but were clean and the fantastic shower made up for it.
The worst thing about the room is that there is currently noisy building work in the old Casa Mia restaurant just opposite room 818 balcony. It wasn't too bad in the first week, but got worse over time, especially because we had to spend a lot of time in the suite because of upset tummies. The manager dealt with our complaint very well and offered other rooms to us but the upheaval wouldn't have been worthwhile.
The food was acceptable if rather repetitive. There is a different country's 'theme' every night of the week which offers more variety than many other hotels. There are always salads, chips and a pasta station available for people with less adventurous tastes. The restaurant staff are outstanding; very keen to please and really can't be criticised.
The food hygiene standards appear to be very good. Despite this, my husband and 8yr-old daughter had stomach upsets for the whole of week 2. We never drank any of the water, we steered clear of the ice, never ate fruit or salad, and were virtually OCD with hand rub before eating. But I'm more inclined to think that perhaps this is down to general hygiene in the bars or general room-cleaning hygiene rather than anything to do with the food. We've all heard the horror stories from residents of other hotels and I never encountered anything of that sort here. The Front Office Manager, Abdullah was very eager to point out that their Crystal Mark score is nearly 100% which is far higher than the average. Maybe they need to look at the room cleaning hygiene rather than kitchen hygiene.
Overall we had a relaxing holiday. One big negative which impeded this is the constant pestering by staff trying you to sell beauty spa treatment, day excursions or animation team events. In fact, 'pestered' is too tame a word; 'plagued' is more accurate. It's the last thing you want when you're dozing by the pool. And because I'm very pale skinned [and they clearly never remembered me], they automatically thought that I'd only just arrived - making me a target for the whole two weeks. There was just one sole person - a nice lady from the spa - who only asked once and then steered clear after I'd said no. You don't even escape from them on the beach!
The snorkelling is excellent and well worth doing. The beach gets very crowded and the beach facilities really could do with some attention. Many of the loungers are broken; the tables attached to the rather shabby umbrellas are rarely cleaned and the main beach bar is not at all welcoming. The toilets also need updating.
The internet speed is not what I would call 'high speed' and is best in the lobby.

Room Tip: NOV 2012 - Building work in old Casa Mia building by Pool 3 [Junior Suite 818 is right by it].

Dear OxfordFran,

Thank you for choosing the Sultan Gardens Resort and for posting your detailed review. We appreciate your feedback and will keep it in the forefront of our minds as we continue to work and improve our standards.

We would like to take this opportunity to confirm that there is no need to avoid water, ice or salads while you are a guest at the Sultan Gardens Resort as these items are all 100% safe. Further to the information provided to you regarding Cristal. Please note that this same company also performs room hygiene checks which are separate from the food and drink hygiene checks and the swimming pool hygiene checks. There is of course, always room for improvement in a big operation with lots of human factors and moving parts, but the Sultan Gardens is extremely proud of the fact that we spare no effort or expense in this regard.

We hope your son is feeling better and that his holiday was not too badly affected by his illness.

Thank you again. We hope you will return soon and we remain at your service.

Best Regards
The Management
