Just back from 1 weeks holiday with friends (17 in the party in total). Overall the hotel is good value for money. The rooms need to be refreshed and updated. We booked a junior suite and were allocated a room with plenty of space for a family of 4. The pool area was lovely, pool bar great. We spent most of our days at the beach - there's a shuttle bus available to take you there and back. There are a lot of stairs in the complex so it may not be suitable for people with mobility problems. The beach was clean, beds comfortable, beach bar ok - could have offered a better variety of food, water was perfect for swimming. There are a lot of staff by the beach and the pool who try to sell boat trips, spa treatments etc. This was quite overpowering for the first couple of days but they left us alone once they knew that we didn't need their services. The food could have been better - not enough variety each night. The a la carte chinese and tandoori restuarants were better. The Italian restuarant was great but unfortunately was only open for lunches. Snacks were available for most of the day. There was entertainment both in the hotel and at the amphitheatre every night and the animation team offered activities all day. Over half our party had quite bad upset tummys during the holiday and since we've come home - wether this was due to the food and drink or is just something that people are susceptable to in Egypt we don't know. Hygiene isn't the same as in the uk. Take antibacterial handwash and wipes with you. Most of the guests were russian - not the most polite people in the world! But staff at the hotel and in the resort were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Upgrade from the basic room if possible.

This hotel was a huge disappointment especially as we paid full price for this holiday. British people are in the minority with the hotel being 70% Russian, 10% Italian, 10% German 9% Spanish and the final 1% English. And I have never met people as rude as the Russians. The reception staff & management are friendly & helpful and the staff if the Shisha bar are great fun. The guy who works in the bag shop is really nice until you won't buy something then he was exceptionally rude. The rooms in the main hotel are awful, no enamel in the bath, smelling of smoke, fittings hanging off the wall, air conditioning hardly working. We managed to get moved to a villa room which were much nicer in comparison. The main restaurant is like a sweat box without working air-con do not eat breakfast in there, go to the outside breakfast bar which we didn't find until about day 5 but is very nice (although food not covered & a lot of flies & birds drinking from the food!). The Indian, Chinese & Italian restaurants are very nice & if you fancy a treat try the fish a-la-carte restaurant which is around £25 per person. The beach/jetty are very nice (apart from the song "sharm, sharm el sheikh") which they play every half hour......which now makes me smile! The sea is lovely and the snorkelling amazing, its just a shame the coral reef is dying as people are treading all over it. Lots of Jelly Fish but apparently harmless. The staff hassle you continually to have a massage, pedicure etc....which are treble the price of the UK. I did have a henna tattoo which worked out too 35gpb! The trip to Ras Mohammed is well worth it along with the star gazing (make sure you take good walking shoes as to view the sunset you have to climb a cliff!). There was also meant to be a free shuttle bus into Naama Bay which didn't exist....you had to pay for it. Also if you get a taxi from the outside if they try and con you just threaten them with the tourist police. A trip to the Pyramids is a must (by Plane). I would go back to Egypt for the diving/snorkelling but definately wouldn't stay here or Naama Bay. Also this hotel is definately not for anyone with walking difficulties. Any questions please ask.

Room Tip: Do not stay in the main building, either a beach room or a villa room.

just had 2 weeks at Sea Magic and yes I agree with most that it is not a 5 star hotel but the food staff and facilities I can not fault, rooms can do with a little updating but they were very well cleaned every day - Mohamed our cleaner left me different art pieces made from towels each day and even came with a vase of flowers for me one day, the staff are so helpfull and friendly its impossible not to enjoy your stay here. Sabrey in main bar could not do enough for us. The food was good very varied with chinese, indian, lybanese, italian and buffet choices for everyone. You even got a mug for your coffee at breakfast time. Location wise you need a taxi if you need to go anywhere - again no problem we used the hotel taxi service which may be more expensive than outside taxis but we found them tobe very reliable Adly was our driver and he was very imformative about where to go for best shopping etc. All in all for the money you pay you have guaranteed sunshine with very clean room and good choice of food and entertainment during the day nad at night so I can't see anything to complain about.

The most expensive asprin in the world is at the
Sea Magic Resort and Spa,in Sharm EL Sheikh Egypt, I had forgotten to pack my tablets so as an emergency measure. I needed asprin to thin my blood, £5 sterling for a packet of 10 aspirin, £3.00 for a packet of crisps, a can of fanta or coke £2.80 and a taxis was double the amount from our hotel complex, the list goes on, NO HAGGLING at sea Magic they will not budge on prices, Our room was a conecting room, however it was conecting to a room occupied by smokers, our room was was stinking of cigerette smoke everyday because of the smoke coming through the gaps in the ajoining door.
Thomas Cook flights, NEVER AGAIN they tell you to take the crouch position in the case of an emergency, imposable, NO SPACE ok if you are under 5ft 6in, £3500 for a family of 4 with a toddler,

Room Tip: Never buy anything in your hotel complex

Once again our party of four - two couples- spent a great four week holiday at the Sea Magic Hotel , Sharm, in February.
Since our last visit the hotel had changed hands. We had very few complaints previously as this hotel has been a favourite over the past few years but I think now it is even better. The food is varied and of a high standard and the staff are very friendly and helpful without being pushy.
We emailed ahead for our choice of rooms but unfortunately this was not possible when we arrived. However the following day we were given what we wanted - two adjacent rooms with sunny balconies.
We have booked another 28 days in November/December and can't wait for the luxury of hot sun, excellent service and comfortable accomodation.

Room Tip: Best position is on the seafront, but be prepared for lots of steps. Less energetic would prefer main building.
