Booked all inclusive holiday at the last minute for end of February 2013. Really happy until I read some of the reviews. However, don't believe them! The hotel is smart and impressive, our room was upto standard although some of the fittings in the bathroom were past their best. The food is only okay, but always a choice of two freshly cooked hot dishes with wide buffet selection, and you can have as much as you like. Drinks were okay (once you'd had the first one), and they used proper bottled mixers not from tap. The staff were the most friendly and helpful you could find. Pool, sunbeds, swim up bar all good. Excellent value for money and would return. Enjoyed Bedouin trip into desert.

Negatives would be: Russians not the jolliest (although it was good fun watching them pile food on their table), but they kept to theirselves. Area outside the hotel not great, but pleasant short walk to beach. but long way from the action. Good for families and couples seeking quieter time but no good for ravers/nightlife. It is not a five star hotel, what it is however is great value for money.

The hotel itself and the landscape with it, was beautiful.
The rooms were spacious and well decorated. Pool was great and there were enough sun lounges for everyone. If you are a couple like my partner and me, where you simply use the hotel as a place to come back to and sleep, then this is the perfect hotel for you.

However, sadly and honestly, the food wasn't great, the room service was incredibly slow and there was always someone trying to sell you something where ever you were.

Food- We only ate dinner once, (even though we paid half board) as our experience wasn't very good. Egyptians cook Egyptian food fantastically, its a shame we didn't see any of this. Chefs should stay away from trying to cater for the vast amount of Russian guests (we thought we were the only British couple for a while).
Breakfast was unusual; Christmas carols playing whilst dining, co co pops on top of croissants and a salad bar...

Room service was not impressive. We waited an hour and a half for some drinks, an iron we requested never turned up and the room service staff were pushy in trying to get us to eat in their restaurants.

When relaxing around the pool, many traders hassled us to buy certain things such as henna tattoos, massages, 'glamour' photo shoots, beach party tickets and English newspapers. The hotel is the one place where I, and most, would expect to be left in peace. However, as we were English, we were a firm target for sales.

Shelly was fantastic in giving us advice about restaurants and places to visit, very friendly and warm. The hotel taxi service was brilliant and the Italian restaurant within the hotel grounds was lovely.

Overall, an okay visit.

Room Tip: Get a twin room and then push the beds together to create an enormous bed.

We booked it as a last minute holiday & maybe we shud have researched it thoroughly !! The staff were warm & friendly & always helpful . The rooms were exceptable as a place to lay your head after a hard day sunbathing . The pool area was clean with plenty of subbeds & activities if u wished to join in . The MAJOR disappointment was the food !!! It was definitely geared towards the Eastern Europeans . The chef was very inventive with aubergines ..... In regards that each dish with them in was named differently but still amounted to b aubergines ! The salad bar was limited in its choice although cucumber was sliced 3 different ways & u cud also have the left over breakfast sausages in mayo . The choice of hot food was daunting ..... It was hard to guess what it was . On our last day they served what couldn't by any stretch of the imagination be called lasagne ..... The mince was grey there wasn't any sauce in it ( either a tomato base or white sauce ) it was just pasta sheets conjeilled together & it was cold ! Seafood was also a disappointment & very limited. The chicken dishes were poor cuts of meat ie: legs & wings . We did complain to the management but unfortunately there was little improvement . We were not the only guests to complain about the food , general concensous was that it catered for our eastern neighbours . I have read one previous review reply from the Quality Control & Guest Relations Manager that the Russians " do not eat burger & chips " so suggesting that they catered for all nationalities ....... Wow food that we could recognise but not want to eat every day of the holiday ! If the food improved drastically in respect of quality & variety this hotel would be worth a second visit maybe more but as it is at the moment a repeat visit is a definate NO NO ......

The first thing I would say is there is a lot of Eastern European people staying here. The majority of them are very rude and arrogant . They push in to the ques barge you out of the way. They don't say please or thank you to the staff. When getting their food they pile on the food on the plates have a couple of mouth fulls then leave the rest of the food which is such a waste .i saw one of them put a whole bowl full of butter cartons in to her bag ...did she want this to use as sun cream ....if you can ignore these people then you will have a great stay.
The hotel is clean and tidy . The food is ok you won't starve . I have a weak tummy but I can say that I didn't get a bad tummy once when staying here .
Our houseman made lots of different towel displays and made us laugh with a few of them.
Our air conditioning wasn't working properly but Shellie got the problem sorted out for us without any problem...thank you Shellie.
All the bar staff are really good and couldn't do enough for us .
The animation team worked very hard and work very long hours . Sam and Jess kept us fits of laughter through our holiday .
I would say for the hotel to look at the beach bar as I think this could do with a clean up and look more appealing. Also as you have to pay for the food at the beach bar and there is no indication that you can actually buy food here. There was no advertising for this .
I think that coffee and tea should be available without charge 24 hrs as you have to pay for this after 11 o'clock at night .
I would ask people as well to read the signs on the beach ...Do not walk on the coral...I felt sorry for the lads working on the beach having to tell people all the time to stop doing this and being ignored . Coral is a living thing ..I'm sure you wouldn't want to be walked all over every day .
I would go back to this hotel . We had a great stay and didn't want to leave.
So thank you to all the staff who made us welcome and made our stay a great one .

Fantastic holiday.
The hotel is located a 10 minutes transfer from the airport, yet no airport noise at all, and the best coral and fish I have seen and this is our 4th visit to Sharm.
The staff are brilliant, always, always pleasant and cheerful, from the waiters, beach staff, animation staff, reception etc. the rooms were all clean and well laid out, we had 4 rooms between us and they were all great.
The beach is very busy but there are plenty of sunbeds if you get there early, and there's always loads in the afternoon, but if all you want to do is snorkel its not a problem, if you like the fish get up early and go down, we saw some awesome fish. I wish there were more signs up informing guests not to walk on the coral (or feed the fish) though, as we saw loads walking on it despite the guards whistling then to stop.
Everyone seems to complain about the food, it really is fine. None of us struggled and there were 8 of us. It may get repetative but so does food at home if you put all your choices out every day!
Not sure why people complain about the guests from other countries, if you only want ot mix with British go to Cornwall. I love sitting around a pool listening to conversations in different languages. Ok some are rude, so are some British people.
Outside the hotel there is nothing at all to do unless you get a taxi (there are plenty outside). That said we weren't too far from Nabq, Na'ama Bay or Soho square.
The only thing I would have liked to see, and it may be worth putting the price up a bit, is a snack bar available between 3pm and 6pm for if you've missed lunch.
Would definately recommend this hotel for a holiday in Sharm.

Dear Valued Guest,

Greetings from a sunny Sharm El Sheikh!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review about your stay with us, especially such a delightful one to read!

We are very happy to hear that you had such a wonderful time at Tiran Island Hotel and its great that one of the main factors in this was the hard working staff we have. Our team really do try hard in trying to make your stay a most enjoyable and memorable one.

Its nice to hear that you made the most of our beach facilities and found the snorkeling good as the fish here really are a treasure.

It seems that you found your way around the restaurant well and its lovely to hear that you enjoyed the food we have on offer. We do try to cater for all nationalities in order to please all of our guests.

I will pass your suggestion regarding longer opening hours of the snack bar to our Director of Sales and our Food & Beverage Manager.

We would love for you to visit us again and if you do decide to return please do contact me at shellie.wilson@tiranislandsharm.net with any requests you might have.

With best regards
